I won a short box in a comic book auction today! I spent $110 dollars on it 😊 The store I won it from sells really cool comics.
If I were you, then I would keep the New 52 Justice League #1, and the Flashpoint #5, I know it's not a whole lot but, they're both worth around 5-15 dollars.
Im no longer a bag and boarder. I buy in bulk to read and either keep in a heap, or pass on to someone else. Condition is not important to me, but to many it is, so you should be careful with them books! :p Also, check the Alpha Flight for Jim Lee art. He worked on that briefly before blowing up on Punisher War Journal. Also, sweet cromium Valiant covers! I remember buying those right off the rack in high school. Good times...

I bought a 50 comic book mystery box for $18 shipped on eBay during the spring and it was the most fun unboxing I have ever done. Nothing was worth above $5, but I got a lot of cool comics, including an Iron Man comic I had planned on buying, and most I plan on keeping. It was a fantastic value. Over half were all Marvel, which is my favorite comic book company. The listing said it would be 1/3 Marvel, 1/3 DC, and 1/3 indies. I had a relatively small comic book collection, only two short boxes full of comics that I have purchased over the years, so I was looking to greatly increase it and diversify my collection a bit with series I didn't own. I surprisingly didn't own a single standalone Batman comic book, but I got my first one from the mystery box that I'm keeping.

Spectre 54 is a key. That Bloodshot is a key too I think. Maybe not the first appearance but first number one. Some good reads in there too with Criminal and American Vampire.

I love Torpedo Comics...have bought from them several times on Ebay. But overall most of that stuff is pretty worthless unless, as you say, you have a store (or the patience) to sell them for a buck a piece. Did you recognize the irony in noting the OJ Simpson back cover ad and then reading the "Batgirl MURDERER" front cover text. Uh, I think they got the wrong suspect. Anyway, if you don't have dozens if not hundreds of comics in your collection with either Dr. J or O.J. back cover ads, you're not collectin'. ;)

Clint - that Wonder Woman #1 from the New 52 has a little value to it nowadays but the best stuff was probably that Marvel GI Joe batch, including Special Missions #1. (This is Grantscomics on IG btw, love your stuff).
GPA says the 12m average for a 9.8 ASM #569 Variant Edition signed by Adi Granov is $175, although in 2019 the average was $204.
I might have to order one of these just for the box and I have absolutely no interest in collecting comics haha

Love the channel. So I've gotten two new eBay scams I've never had in over 7 years. Both on the same day. One was a buyer who sent a message through PayPal asking for a $100 refund on their purchase or they would "ruin my eBay rating". The second, a customer sent a message through eBay saying the product wasn't working. They didn't start a return, just sent a message. I let them know they could submit a return request that way I would pay for the postage. (for tracking of course) Several email from them asking questions about the product (I sell high end computer components and computer systems) and then out of the blue they say "Ok, I'm good, what can you send me for free for my time?" I reported both to eBay and PayPal with screenshots right away!
Have you ever experienced anything like this? I mean I've gotten the bar of soap returned in place of a CPU, or a stripped out computer returned...all of which are easy to prove...video EVERYTHING when you get a return! I've just never seen anything like these two.

With all the comic stores CLOSING down they it's probably just a way to get rid of many of the comics so they sold heaps cheap

I think that your right to Keep some of these that might be old or if they are First or second appearance. that being said i feel like Torpedo is just getting rid of inventory at this point. $200 seems a bit too much if it was like 100-150 it seems right. Sometimes it really irks me when I watch you when it comes to comic.you seem to only love the dollar value not the storylines not the art not anything that makes a true comic book collector a collector. If you just want the most valuable go out and buy it. a lot of those books that you have our stories that's why you have so many of them they are story arcs so they go together. But you are only looking for that mighty dollar a beginner collector would love to have what you have. SMH
I 100% agree on your statement. Even though I don’t collect single issues I only collect hardcovers and paperback volumes of certain books. I will only buy ones that I’m interested in like Blackest Night, Lucifer, DCeased, Green Lantern Earth one. I only collect ones that interest me not for value but for my entertainment. When it comes to issues I do sometimes buy them at flea markets and garage sales only to sell because sometimes people will have decent books. I usually use that money to buy the full volume of the certain series that I had as issues with a couple books missing.
