BALKAN-EASE by Nick Ariondo (composer-accordionist-pianist) is a cross-pollination of unusual and odd rhythms in 7/8 meter where the odd-rhythms change direction between 4 plus 3 (1,2,3,4 + 1,2,3) and 3 plus 4 (1,2,3 + 1,2,3,4). The hand-drum callled a 'dumbek' is masterfully played by PatSalis, virtuoso percussionist...."dumbek' is just one of several names given to this middle-eastern type of hand-drum. The accordion and dumbek support one another quite favorably as the music transports us to far and distant lands of SE Europe (east of Italy across the Adriatic Sea) to the Balkan regions, Balkan Peninsula countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Yugoslavia/Croatia, part of Turkey, etc... Folk dancing, inventive modal scales, patterns & melodies with rhythmic drive and intensity are reminiscent of the vibrant music and cultures throughout these areas.

incredible....I have the SS6 but it has the straight line of switches, assume yor are using SS6 but the later SS6. I changed the piccolo to another clarinet and the SS6 is very very good.
