I actually don't agree with what you said about the teaching method. Each week they are assigned task, discussions for the current topic and responses that are graded. Yes it's different from in person but for busy people with lives, chit chatting with classmates might not be a thing. I also find course instructors are very responsive, but I think some work can be done on an interactive platform.
The classes at SNHU are pretty low quality. If you just want a piece of paper, it's certainly a low cost way to get you there. However, if you want to actually learn, you're better off with one of the state schools online programs; at least at the state schools you're getting the same professors and curriculum as the on-campus students (not the case with SNHU).
Just finished (literaly, JUST!) my undergraduate degree last week at SNHU and loved the experience. Keep one thing in mind: if you need baby sitting, online is not for you! Yes, online, you are pretty much on your own BUT !!! There's plenty of material, resources and human help if you need it...but the heavy lifting has to be done by you. Yes, once you finish your first class, you pretty much mastered the format...all classes follow the same structure, just different topics. Warning: "Online" doesn't mean free ride! It means a lot of work, reading and researching by yourself (with the always helping online hand of your Instructor...If you work and are well structured, this college is superb in any way possible! I took 3 Science classes that did nothing to do with my cxComputing Science degree, but you'd get the same "strange" classes attending to other school)...I guess they try to give you some rest from too technical classes. 9 out of 10 my recommendation!
Idk why people seem to have this funky idea of online schooling as "oh I can just sit in bed and put in sub par effort on easy assignments and pass no problem!" If anything, I believe it's significantly harder as less people have the self motivation and drive at home to stay on top of their work. And the course material proves to actually be quite difficult at times.
@@apolloollopa1653 sooooo very true: Math classes, mobile development (I'm a seasoned developer) cryptography, Internet Security and Network...they kicked my ass and in some I had a C-...a lot of reading and doing in a simulation lab.
Online is harder because you don't have any help or support from the school. The professors expect you to do your work and not ask any questions. If you email them with questions they never respond. You are 100 percent on your own.
1. Private, 2. Not for profit, 3. Accredited: NECHE, 4. affordable, 5. Physical Campus. I graduated last month (June 2024) with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. Great experience and would recommend it.
You are correct that the instructors do not create any of the course content. They just grade and provide feedback. They are adjuncts paid very little, so they likely don’t have much time to connect on a personal level, though I’m sure some go above and beyond.
I’m considering going here for my computer science degree I am very much so a person that learns better with human contact but diversity is the key I guess thank you so much for your video and help me make a very big choice of my life
Ill be pretty honest You guys... It's pretty hard. They don't cut córners.. not Even in the freshman newbie Classes... Every assignment feels as clean as a final project. And they take those dam points off for real... Theres no half assing here if You wanna do S-n-h-u. It's not that it's hard in the sense of material... I mean that it's hard in the sense of perfectionism. It's a good thing... I just want people to come in with the correct mindset..
I'm a current online student at SNHU. I will graduate in December 2025 with my BA in Anthropology. From day one, I have had an excellent experience at SNHU. My advisors have been amazing, my instructors have been phenomenal. I agree with Dr. Stumme that if you require more hands-on instruction, there may be better options than this, but all of my instructors have been available whenever I have a question. For me, SNHU has been the Rodeo Drive of colleges, not Walmart of K-mart, lol! Classes are not easy, so you need to be prepared to put in the work. My experience is an A! Thanks, Dr. Stumme, for this informative video!
One of the best colleges for the military: Im in the army and after basic and ait training I just got awarded more than 25 college credits with all my transfer credits I got 90 credits transfer even though I have more than 90 credits but I do have to take 10 classes which is the 30 credit minimum and snhu offers the FYE-101 First Year Experience course for free so I'm basically paying for 9 classes which is all paid by the army. I'm paying literally 0 dollars for my bachelor's because before the army I had FAFSA which paid for my courses. I'm getting BA in general studies. IF anyone needs any help or have any questions how I did it let me know would be happy to help.!
My only complaint has been that I overall agree with this video and that the student experience is mostly good. But I got this one professor online who was involved.... so involved she decided to change the class material, demanded involvement from students that was not part of the rubric, graded based entirely on opinion that did not reflect the rubric, and admitted that she was not at all familiar with the subject matter.
Lol! That’s a pretty horrific experience. I hope you reported it. Schools that big don’t take course alternations on the fly lightly. That’s generally a fireable offense when the courses are standardized like they are there.
Im just going to toss this out there, WGU cost me 6k for my bachelors, I did a lot of courses, It's in business, the choices are more limited but WGU was definitely the cheapest option available if all you want is a degree.
I would LOVE to attend WGU! That's the perfect school for me. But they unfortunately don't have psychogy degrees, so here I am looking for another school.
I love SHNU I am going there right now the professors are extremely great and my advisor she the best and all the advisor they care and they will give you a called. Once you like one advisor they work with you to the end of time for your degree.

Great video and very valuable info. in regards to their mental health counseling master program, would you recommend it better than Liberty university online's?
I’m also looking in this university as well but so far the courses on their program data analytics aren’t really my cup of tea. It’s more heavily on business which I’m so not interested in. I have checked PUG and might enrol with them as they offer ExcelTrack that can be done at your own pace. I plan to study for max. 14-15months. to graduate. So yeah.. we’ll see
Question: Does snhu have a self pace MBA program like the Excel Track from Purdue Global?. Looking at both schools. I'm leaning towards Snhu for my MBA. Trying to figure out which school would be least expensive
I work at Walmart and I found issues with the classes and they don’t like people with some learning disabilities. And I have ASS of science from a local college.
Any thoughts about a Masters in Forensic psychology online? I did Charter Oak State College and had a great experience. Looking for a better option in the Masters level.
Hi, I’m French and I’m looking for an MBA in music business… I saw that SNHU has one but I’m wondering if it would be relevant for me to take it as I am not American and I don’t really understand what accreditation means. I would like to work overseas including in Asia and would like the degree to be acknowledged there or anywhere Would you have any info about the relevance of the school for international people or do you know any online college that could provide me the degree I’m looking for (music industry business) ? Thank you so much 🙏
Honestly, I'd guess that SNHU would be fine, but I can't really say what employers are looking for in China. In general, I think there are few places where a US degree doesn't get the job done.
I'm an Army veteran and I am starting out under their MSc in Project Management and Operations online. My tuition is fully paid with my GI Bill (retroactive induction) because I used my chapter 31 benefits previously and qualified for it. I have a BSHM (Bachelor's of Science in Hospitality Management) from UNLV.
Vet here. I am currently enrolled at SNHU. The counsellors are very good at helping out the students. The professors are good with this as well, as they always answer questions within a day.
I’m in Canada, looking to take the bachelor of computer science program. I have a diploma in the early childhood education from a well known college here in Ontario Canada. Does anyone have any advice or tips?
I will be submitting my final coursework for the BS in computer science by the end of this month! I do recommend it, be ready to code! Yikes, CS 330 will get you on board. Just take every programming course seriously.

Since "Online" is literally world wide, Id like to know how to apply from China to Southern New Hampshire University or at least get more information about Southern New Hampshire University.
Same as you would if you lived in the US! :) Use the “apply” button on their website. They have 180,000 online students all over the world, so they’ll be able to guide you 🥳
Hello! Excellent video. I was checking out your consultation plans. Could I request something a little different. I’m looking for a list of schools that meet my requirements. How can I get in touch? Thank you.
What are your on Columbia Southern University? How legit is their accreditation? This is a big factor for me that I don’t quite understand as far as accreditations
It is regionally accredited, which is important (stay away from schools that are only nationally accredited, like University of the People), but there are better schools :) Mostly because it’s a for-profit. You want a non-profit, as they don’t answer to shareholders financially, so their funds go back into the school and student experience instead of the shareholders pockets.
I juat accepted for MBA- STEM cousre , just confused about global ranking , as I have to come back in Middle East where compitition for global rankimgs is high. Can you explain about global ranking.
Global ranking isn’t as big a deal in the US, so we don’t have a great sense of it. But as long as you’re choosing your school and major based on your future goals, then you’ll be ok. :) If the career you want requires a degree from a highly ranked school, then it would be worth it to go that direction.
Very different programs! The ExcelTrack degrees are competency based, so no deadlines and work at your own pace. SNHU holds your hand and mandates how many classes you can take 😋 We are always a bit biased toward competency based education because our top concerns are speed and cost, and motivated people (our awesome clients) tend to lose a lot of time in the structured, weekly deadline delivery model because they want to go faster and can’t.
Thank you for your response. That is my thinking as well. I think I’m going to choose Purdue. Because I am wanting to finish as quickly as I can and don’t want to mess with Sophia or Clebs
Hello! If I need to cancel my membership with Sophia learning, do I have the option to go back and continue? Or is it a one and done type of situation where I do whatever I can and once I cancel that’s it? (Finances are currently shaky so what I have this month I may not have next month for the auto renewal so I was wondering how I can make this work). Thank you for your time!
No matter where you get a Computer Science degree you will have great potential in applying to decent jobs. IT is very in right now, and only projecting to become more successful as a field of work.
I'm currently talking to a college who says they accept CLEP but not Sophia. I asked them why. They told me Sofia is not accredited but CLEP is. Is this true? If so what is the difference in the accreditation. If not is there anything I can do to get them to accept Sophia?
Oh, man! Great question. First off, neither is "accredited" per se in the big sense. They are just tests/courses that colleges can choose to accept or not. It's totally up to them. And honestly if you asked them and they said, "No," there's probably not much you can do except find a better college. :)
Would you recommend this school for a veteran like myself who wants a degree as fast as possible but also who has certs in cyber sec that as well. Do they also acredit military experience?
Don’t do it people !!! Especially if your a veteran such as myself don’t do it you’ll be pissed, poorly handled and trash managment like a trash officer that doesn’t know their own system sucks
I've been accepted here. I chose Business Administration BS with entrepreneurship concentration. I almost feel like this isn't super beneficial. Im 24, first college attempt. I have an LLC, and Im currently trying to start my second business ( the first one went well but didn't last. ) I'm very knowledgeable with accounting and finance, but no official track records or certification credits (mostly self-taught). I do have a real-estate certification. Is there anyone here actively running their own businesses while perusing this type of degree? And is or, was it worth it? Should i pursue something else? Any input will help. Great video, by the way and thanks!
First of all, GOOD FOR YOU! That is awesome that you’re learning by doing. Second, this is an excellent question, because you are very right that formal education isn’t always pragmatic 😅 I recommend taking some classes on Study.com, like Small Business Management, and seeing whether the information is helpful to you or not. You have plenty of free elective space in a degree like business, so you could take 5-10 classes before they stop counting toward graduation. :) Give yourself a less expensive and committal trial run to see if it provides enough value to you to justify the ROI. If it doesn’t but you still want to check the box on a degree, you could do something at UMPI for $6k as opposed to the $12k+ SNHU will cost.
I am considering completing my bachelors (I have an associates from a community college) Can anyone talk about the experience and how difficult it can be?
To anyone who has experience at this school please answer the following questions: When you are in a class and may have trouble understanding your subject are the professors willing to extend help as far as zoom, google video, etc? How are the professors? From your experience how's testing? Does it matter how many classes I take at once?
I hope I can answer. I am currently an SNHU online student and I have nothing but great things to say about this school. If you're having any sort of trouble understanding there is live tutoring and other resources to help and all of my professors have been able to answer my questions in less than 24 hours. I have used all of the resources A LOT and for the first time since being in college and multiple transfers I have a 4.0 thanks to their help. As far as testing goes I have only had one class so far that has had quizzes no test. The quizzes that I have had are done through the digital textbook and they are not proctored and I am given multiple chances to get the answer right. I have heard that tests are really not done at SNHU but they make up for it with their HEFTY projects. The way SNHU terms are set up you're only able to take two classes per term. The term lasts eight weeks and there are six terms in a year for undergraduates. This system is much better for me than taking 5 classes over semester and working In all I can say that I've had the best time at snhu and felt like I have mattered more then I have any of my other traditional universities
I don’t know why everyone is licking this schools ass. It’s terrible. Atleast for my major. - they aren’t professors. They are part timers, many do not work in the industry of which you’re interested, they aren’t certified teachers either. I’ve looked at few up on LinkedIn. Depends on who it is, some help and some are just there for the paycheck and it shows. Some will actually grade your work and others will give you a perfect score on everything you turn in. - my major has zero tests, just projects. I cant speak for all majors. - I think you can take up to 2 at a time? Not sure. I do 1 because I work full time and have a 4 year old. Would not recommend this school to anyone.

Update
I actually don't agree with what you said about the teaching method. Each week they are assigned task, discussions for the current topic and responses that are graded. Yes it's different from in person but for busy people with lives, chit chatting with classmates might not be a thing. I also find course instructors are very responsive, but I think some work can be done on an interactive platform.
I 100% agree. To log on just to talk to my classmates and get graded on that by Thursday every week is so annoying.
This is probably the drawback to having 170,000 students 🫣
@@CollegeHacked Probably -- ASU has something like 64k in their online program and it's way better (but also more expensive).
@@CollegeHackedcan you recommend any state schools online programs?
@@Kittiebanks State schools are generally good quality, just not hackable which is why you don't hear us talk about them too much
Just finished (literaly, JUST!) my undergraduate degree last week at SNHU and loved the experience.
Awesome!!

My advisors have been amazing, my instructors have been phenomenal. I agree with Dr. Stumme that if you require more hands-on instruction, there may be better options than this, but all of my instructors have been available whenever I have a question.
I thought that they left you alone to do the classes? was that not the case?
Lol! That’s a pretty horrific experience. I hope you reported it. Schools that big don’t take course alternations on the fly lightly. That’s generally a fireable offense when the courses are standardized like they are there.

Global ranking isn’t as big a deal in the US, so we don’t have a great sense of it. I’m trying really hard to pick between SNHU or excel track with Purdue Global. Thoughts?
Very different programs! The ExcelTrack degrees are competency based, so no deadlines and work at your own pace. SNHU holds your hand and mandates how many classes you can take 😋 We are always a bit biased toward competency based education because our top concerns are speed and cost, and motivated people (our awesome clients) tend to lose a lot of time in the structured, weekly deadline delivery model because they want to go faster and can’t.

To anyone who has experience at this school please answer the following questions:
When you are in a class and may have trouble understanding your subject are the professors willing to extend help as far as zoom, google video, etc?
This system is much better for me than taking 5 classes over semester and working
In all I can say that I've had the best time at snhu and felt like I have mattered more then I have any of my other traditional universities
