I own 3 of these bass’s, white, black and blue,, I have them setup with BEAD strings, .125 gauge on the low B. These are definitely fun great bass’s and I use them on all my gig’s going thru my Hartke or Gallien Kruger bass rigs. Thanks for the video and actually playing the bass,, unlike ALL OTHER bass reviews that use heavy overdrive or slap the shit out of their bass’s. Why must every other bass reviewer turn on the fuzz overdrive, people want to hear what the bass sounds like,, we all already know what a fuzz overdrive effect sounds like. Thanks again for a real review with the real bass sound. Cheers, Davyo
Wow Joe, I see you have my favorite (original member lineup) rock band on the wall, along with my all time favorite album which includes the group's trademark song (25 or 6 to 4). Saw the group with Terry @ MSG, N.Y.C. (Fri. 10/28/77) which was Kath (RIP) last appearance in the Garden before that horrible incident three months later. Wished it never happened, it broke my heart! As always thanks again for another cool electric bass guitar review, cheers Bro!
I was still living in New York at that time, and I saw them at the Nassau Coliseum that year. I met Peter for the first time in November of 77, right after the Madison Square Garden show. I worked at Manny's music on 48th Street and he came in. Nothing will ever top the original band!
Enjoy your content..nice to see a real bass player doing a demo...I'm now subscribed..I've been a pro bass player 50+ years....looking forward to more... Glenn in Vermont...
Even in single coil mode, that pick up definitely had some classic Ernie Ball snarl to it that transcends the sound of my Fender models. I have played one of these short scale Stingray models once or twice. I definitely understand why they are sought after. I probably would get a five string version of this model if I thought I wanted another bass and this was it.
Nice video, Joe! I love that bass... I kind of want one, but think I would want a full scale. I myself have a fender P at the moment as my main driver. I'm trying to avoid gear acquisition syndrome :)...
I'm glad that they shrunk the headstock. Was that enough to prevent neck-dive on these basses? There's one near me for very cheap, but I do NOT like neck-heavy basses.
I am a guitarist, and I have it in Olympic White = Love it. Great demo. Enjoyed your presentation. What amp were you playing through? oNe LovE from NYC
I have a Sterling SUB series. I love it but it's just a bit too heavy and cumbersome for me. I'm definitely not playing it as much as I thought I would. I'm looking into selling it and getting myself a short scale
Hey Joe, cool video. I have a G&L Fallout that is pretty cool and comparable to this. Check it out if you haven't. My problem with the G&L is that there's not enough frets to play "The Real Me" (The Who). But it looks like this one would work.......hmmmmm...may be in my future.
I've been looking for one but unlike yours's the ones I find have bad string to tuner alignment at the headstock. 7:28 to 7:38 hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Great playing! Nice demo

Cool guy, great sound, very informative, awesome video. Thanks!
Awesome bass right there! Might check this out. Thanks!
I used to have the regular Sterling, same color. That bass was a lot of fun to play. Now I'm looking for a G&L 2000. Thanks.
You really showed the value of this bass with your great playing.
Thank you, Don!
Hi Joe, what did you hear back from Hipshot on replacement tuners? Thanks
thats the best bass guitar in the world, i have it, its amazing! good built quality and sound

Thanks! I appreciate it.
Great video!!!
Great review.
Great video buddy I appreciate I'm running out and buying one thank you
Got one in white - amazing little bass - better than the full size ones IMO.
Buy one!!
I agree!
The "volume boost" knob is nothing but an attenuator. "Boost ON" is really "attenuator OFF". I don't know how many dB's but 6dB sounds about right.
Awesome!

I get one a few days ago. Looks small but sounds great.
With my orange amp it's the perfect match FOR ME ❤

Thanks!
To my knowledge, Music Man hasn't put this passive system in a long-scale bass.
This is a great video. Ernie Ball should see this, so I’m going to send it to them .
School Days was a nice touch .
Grazie!
Tengo uno identico a ese y es genial
Thanks - This video cost me $600 :)
Haha! You're welcome ✌️😎
Hey Joe- Great demo! I have two of these gems. For comparison sake, what’s your signal chain to record the demo? Stock EB strings? Thx!
I'd also love to know: strings, amp, pedals ect - you had a great punchy-sound.
@@michael_caz_nyc Amp: Fender Rumble 200 combo, no pedals, Ernie Ball Slinky Flatwound Strings, 40-95 (long-scale, but they work).

I didn't feel any dive :)

@@joeiaquinto9214 Nice . . . I actually have the Fender Rumble 100 and I absolutely Love it. ( lightweight, powerful and sounds great )
@@michael_caz_nyc They nailed it with this Rumble series!
@@joeiaquinto9214 I couldn't Agree-more. It's a little beast.
Excellent review. How did the balance feel to you? Did you notice any neck dive?
No neck dive, very balanced!
I have a Sterling SUB series. I love it but it's just a bit too heavy and cumbersome for me. I'm definitely not playing it as much as I thought I would. I'm looking into selling it and getting myself a short scale
You will be happy!

It is nice to have the extra real estate!

LOL! I''m a total 70s man! :)

If you want a short-scale, you can't beat this!
