Its normal for all ford power steering pumps to make noise you only need to be concerned when it stops making noise my 7.3 pump always makes noise its standard
I changed my serpentine belt and the top water hose had pressure and blew out coolant still under pressure The truck was running great but after changing the belt and hooking the hose back up the 7.3 engine even try to start it spins freely confused
i wish you got the updated hose, so you didnt have to drain the coolant! when you install a water pump or P/S pully, buy the hose that goes around the belt dude! its 10 bucks
Just replaced a broken belt and the new one just BROKE AGAIN! I made sure the grooves lined up with the pullies. Are there some other common mistakes made while doing this that I should keep in mind?
Justin lew hello there..... if for some reason you put players or pipe wrench or something that hurt the grooves on one or two pulleys it will continue to cut the belt
Also when the tensioner goes out it will sag slightly making belt wear and break till tensioner no good to a point even if you have new belt ,it will skip off.
I just used my torque wrench for the same reason but I climbed up and into the engine bay and let the wrench lay towards the driver's side so that I don't have to remove the radiator tank. It's easier for me to leverage it and slip the belt on at the same time.
Well, that shows me nothing I needed to know about changing the belt.
what size is that belt
I have a 2000 ford excursion 7.3 but I have to get around the fan.
But do you need to remove the coolant reservoir in order to access the belt tensioner to give it slack?
No

good to know! i'll keep the pump on the shelf!
+PowerModz Its because its the same pump ford uses on darn Mustangs!

Bet he didn't there's a little clip underneath the tensioner to hold it back helps to get the belt on quicker
Any ideas when that 1/2 inch slot is broken? Gotta love used trucks
take the tensioner all the way off, should be a 13mm bolt holding it on between the two pulleys

Double alternator hose. definitely better.
how many Miles do you change the belt??
when the alternator quits turning
I would say every 50,000 miles I changed mine 3 years ago and it went bad again
I had to disconect the top radiator hose, and you didn't show it
Yes he did

Pick yourself up new radiator hose that goes around the belt. I got mine at Rifraf Diesel.
Muy bien amigo eso me ayudó mucho a instalar mi banda thanks por el vídeo
Mucho Gracias.
LOL! what tutorial?
sweet truck
Why are you using a torque wrench on the tentioner ?!?!??!
Because it's a longer ratchet so he gets more leverage on it the belt tensioner on these is hard as hell to pull back without a longer ratchet
BSMotoVlogs 😁 it looks like he knows what he is doing..... I don’t think he has a breaker bars 😄
He doesn’t have a 1/2 inch breaker bar 😱
Cause its the best way

That's a long belt!
you showed nothing
your titles wrong thought it was a 350 not a 250
doesn't matter same set up for this procedure.
