I really feel bad for Samantha since WAW, she has been through a lot, she saw her dog turn into the hellhound, she controlled the zombies, stuck in Argartha, saw her father get killed by Dr Monty, stuck in a endless loop and killing Nikolai, she had a really bad childhood, and we all thought the zombies and everything were gone after Tag Der Toten, but it's still here and never gone, Samantha will keep fighting til the end and we will follow her til the end.

It's funny because from what I heard Samantha wasn't even planned until Der Riese I think when everyone started having theories about who Sam is all because the zombie would make a sound that sounded like Sam so the developers added her to the story just to have her be a huge part of this on going story
@@yuki8036 Origins takes place in a different universe than all of the maps before it. The version of Dr. Maxis who was betrayed in Der Riese and killed in the Moon base was Samantha’s father, the Origins Dr. Maxis who ends up in the drone never had a daughter. That’s why everyone thinks he’s going crazy when he starts telling them that a little girl who claims to be his daughter is contacting him for help setting herself free.
Edit because I feel like that might still be a little confusing: There are at least two alternate universe versions of basically every major character except Samantha, there’s only one of her. She gets trapped in the Aether with her power-crazy actual dad so she finds a universe with a less evil Dr. Maxis who doesn’t have a daughter but still tries to help set her free. That Maxis gets infected so that Richtofen removes his brain, and then Origins happens.

All of the songs seem to be sung from the person in control of the zombies at the time of the song release, switching from Elena to Nova when Rochtofen was in Charge. Switching to back Elena when Sam was in charge again.
AU(Current game) Older Sam is the new singer here, showing she is merging with the World at War Universe Sam. Gaining the memories of WaW Sam and thus same filters that Elena had.
That would sound like she is going crazy.
If you listen to all the Intel from her, she actually says "I am lost, please find me" in the final radio transmission. Cool little easter egg, if so.

I like that Kevin is experimenting with different singers and styles. It helps make each map feel unique and prevent artistic stagnation.

I absolutely love the lower pitch of Julie’s voice in this song. Hearing this only makes me want to hear a song with her paired alongside any of the other previous singers. She would greatly compliment any performance with them.

You can say you dont care for the song when applied to zombies, it's ok. I dont particularly like it either. I wanna hear the VA singing on an actual ksherwood song. She sounds good but the style isn't zombies.
@@Sethxz I really like this song. Yeah it is out of the norm for zombies. But it’s style is atmospheric, and it’s almost like a hopeless monologue from a stranded Samantha. So saying it isn’t zombies isn’t exactly fair to say.

It is understandable why. I would've been fine with at least one of the older songs, or at least commissioned someone else to do it(*Cough Avenged Sevenfold maybe?, *Cough*). Just not an out of place song that I will never listen to outside of the game

Major props to Julie, Craig, James, and Kevin. This song is totally perfect for Samantha and honestly a perfect fit for Firebase Z. I have yet to finish the Easter Egg but something tells me... Samantha is gonna be a bit insane and using powers again.

It took me reminiscing about the old lullaby to realize why the intro sounded so familiar to me. Hit me like a truck listening to Samantha's Rest from Origins.

@NotSoLilGamer the animation could be canon seeing as Kevin is an official sound designer for Treyarch. It’d be kind of weird if the animation that is made for the official Easter egg song isn’t canon. But I could be wrong.

Saaaaame. They literally told Kevin to withhold it until someone found it, and that’s exactly what happened. Milo’s stream I think found it literally by accident and like 5 minutes after it stopped playing on their stream Kevin uploaded it. It was beautiful.

The transition in vocals, music to a much darker tone as the song progresses is simply gorgeous
I’m seeing people write the song off when the fact it isn’t an expected rock or metal song is because that’s not where Sam is right now.
She isn’t a scared little girl warring with the corruption consuming her as she commands the darkness; she’s lived through all that unimaginable heartbreak and calamity only to see the very people who gave everything to bring the misery to end sacrificed and when it all started again? She chose to run back into the hellfire only to lose herself to it. This her lamenting that and telling us that she needs to find herself to find her way back home & hopefully find a way to end this all once and for all.
I’m just going to say it now that all bets are off in concerns to the story and I can’t wait! Hats off to everyone who worked on this song I can’t wait to see what is next.
I appreciate the work that went into this song but I don’t think it fits the theme of the map, sure it fits for Samantha but as for firebase z I think a more intense song would’ve made sense especially because of the giant creatures and news enemies you have to fight. Regardless it’s nice to see them experiment with other genres. Not every zombie song needs to be metal.

the reason for this is she was the first to step into the MPD and so she became connected to the dark aether even though Richtofen swapped bodies with sam she still has her powers because of how long she was in there.

Bro this song, storyline wise, is the best out of all the zombies songs up to day IMO. Like, the composition, mixed with the lyrics, mixed with the clashing melodies and how it just ends straight up with no outro or anything. Its, at least to me, the best zombies song.

So for everyone hating on this song. This song is actually a banger. It's such a different experience from Elena's awesome bombastic songs, that it makes it one of the most unique songs in zombies. Also a lot of lore is in the song y'all should listen closely. In zombies every map has a different song and this song is one of my favorites now. A good refresher from the other songs and plus it's literally Sam's VA who wouldn't love that. Congrats to Kevin for experimenting LOVE IT.

Man, with each map my sadness grows. The primis crew were peak fiction, and even though they were just video game characters I really did grow up with their adventures. My first COD was WaW and I was in like kindergarten. I’m a whole ass adult now and they really did shape the man I have become same with the music. Thank you Kevin for forming my love for the wonderful genre of metal. I don’t think I would be the same person I am now without the music you have made for this great story
I feel like Cold War is the last one they tried on, and that makes me feel both inspired and sad.

In my personal opinion, the song is good, but it just doesnt hold up to the rock standards of the other maps that people have come to expect.
@@xyzzymeme5328 Well, I think it's intentionally made to be like that as it focuses on how Sam's feeling eversince. It shouldn't be too much rock or metal or it won't suit the mood of the singer AKA Sam

So this song is maybe sort of hinting that she may become the same sam we know from the first black ops zombies an insane child because even in this one timeline some things don't stay dead for good
I think that she still has memories of what happened with the original 4/8 and what she had to do, or maybe the dark aether restored her memories, it could go either way but I think that's the "that day" she references
She does have takeo’s katana, dempseys watch, glowing purple eyes and nikolais goggles in the ending cutscene

Hard to believe this is the first time in nearly ten years we've got someone other than Elaena, Clark, Malukah, or A7X doing the EE song! Julie Nathanson did great on this one! Wouldn't mind if she did the rest of them for this game!

@@AutobotSonicTheTelltaleGamer what about Not Ready To Die by Avenged Sevenfold? That was made for zombies and was a damn good song on a damn good map (Call of the Dead). I don't mind this singer but I want some more heavy instrumentals or at least have a soft song and a hard song on each map.

I think this is one of my favorite Easter Egg songs. It works on its own as a great piece if you aren't a big Zombies fan, but if you are then you have the extra satisfaction of hearing one of the most important characters in the story struggling to keep herself whole. I'm excited to see where the story goes next and hopefully we haven't heard the last of Maxis' music.
No matter what, it seems like she will always be a little lost girl.
