How a 3-phase separator works
The product flows into the inside of the drum via a stationary inlet pipe. where it is gently accelerated to full speed. The product stream splits into many thin layers through the plate pack, creating the largest possible surface area. The product separation results from the different densities of the individual product components.
Centrifugal force separates the solids from the light, mostly oily water particles. The separated liquids are discharged from the drum under pressure by two grippers.
The heavier solid particles settle on the outer drum wall. Gradually, more and more solid particles accumulate on the outside of the drum. The Soft-Shot® solid ejection system periodically ejects the separated particles at full speed. Both partial and complete emptying can be carried out.
