Old school Cafe is my favorite. Just such a beautiful bike 💓💕
It's always a good day when we get a Vasily video, especially a 2 stroke video! Wouldn't mind seeing somemore cross kart videos here soon. Maybe a future project can be you putting a rocket motor in another quad, the cboys one you helped them with is really sick. Would be cool if you had your own to play with tho. Love the content as always
I had my old RD350 hitting about 125mph back in the 80's with a few port mods & swarbrick expansion chambers, but they never had baffles, they just had end pipes, or pea shooters as we called them, my 200 & 250 air-cooled RD's had the barrels reversed, a bunch of electric/timing work, with the exhausts sticking out the back (tight fitting), but had the rear shocks replaced with solid rods, because shocks weren't really needed at Santa Pod, the 250 beat the 350 at the Pod but when the right gearing was added it was better on long runs. Pod filters sticking out the front of the 200 & 250 weren't always a good choice when the weather got wetter as It regularly did over here. With that big bore kit, you should at least get 130mph, Keep up the great work because I'm pretty limited now after breaking my back in 2001 and the last 4 years have been murder, always wear a back/spine protector, without one I probably wouldn't be here, or ever worse stuck in a chair, I've still got to convert my 650 twin into a reverse trike to make riding enjoyable again
Baddyass, love these vids-among my favorite. I still daily ride an old 1973 Suzuki TS185 2 smoker...so I'm pretty biased
love the bit of angle iron to stop the g forces just pushing you off the drag quad, the 350 stroker motors a fuggin unit, for sure.
man, would SO love to put some seat time on that RD350...... Sad to see it sit, but wonderful to see you give it some spotlight again! If you ever wanna sell it, I'm sure you'd get a premium price for it!!
Cool story. I ordered a Jim lomas exhaust for my Aprilia rs125. Turned out Jim lomas himself delivered it just around the corner from where I worked in Stockport England, where he was visiting his family. Sounded amazing. Was great to meet him too ❤
I love my 2014 EBR 1190SX, probably my favorite I have ever ridden, more so than the GSXR1000 and my CBR1000, the EBR is all I have left now but I sure do miss riding my 2 strokes as well ❤
Perfect video with a perfect soundtrack . Love both these bikes but the cafe racer is still such a beautiful bike 👌
I still like the RD best. Ole Skool Kool! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
always love riding a 2 stroke bikes. it's slow going from the start but when you get up to the power band it's like a rocket. plus it's so freaking light compare to a 4 stroke engines.
Man watching this makes me want to build a rd so much more than I already do
Bless you for keeping the 2 stroke alive.
Theses are good examples of perfect machines, even with a slippery clutch. 😅 pure 2 stroke ear orgasm! 👊🏻😉
Wot size motoer did the grom have b4 the swap??
Love 2strokes, Grew up riding them.
125cc -> 240cc -> 350cc
Actually shortening the stinger on the pipes will give you higher top end power.
Yea there is a idle circuit but it doesn't keep up with high rpm for engine braking. You shouldn't engine brake a 2 stoke in my opinion. There's a reason it's called an Idle circuit.
Bro thank you for inspiring me to create my own youtube channel
Right on!
You need to get a Kawi triple 750 if you like 2 stroke power. Or look for an old Maico big bore 2 stroke.
That's neat bro 👌 take care and God bless be safe 🙏 out there.
The grom is really sick... want one myself hahhah
Just a tip from an OLD 2 stroke rider. Don't try to use engine braking on a 2 stroke! When the throttle is closed you don't get enough oil to the bottom end, and there's a chance for seizing a piston or running the bearings out of it. Pull the clutch in and use your brakes on long periods of deceleration. That's what they're there for.😉 That said, I also had a 73 RD 350 that I used to race at Pocono on the weekends back in the 70's.. fun times!😄
Yeah, not enough oil for the RPM its running while engine braking. That's what kills 2 strokes. It's like running idle oil pressure at 6k rpm in a normal car.
Man I'd kill for an Rd or Rz 350!
Did you visit Kaplan America on your RD350?
Great video. It looks like you're up in the Chattanooga area. Pretty sure that cafe you went to is Rembrandts. Anyway, if you're game, I have a build I'd like to bring you. 1300CC honda engine going into a 4 seater go kart that started life as a little 150cc Chinese buggy. Hit me up if you want to have a discussion about it.
*All activities are performed on a closed course.
great stuff thanks
Love your videos
Is that how you always shift Without the clutch? Cuz that's how I shift also
Put some heavier springs in the clutch or u can try the trick i used on my derbi GPR50. That sucker slipped the clutch from day one stock if u didnt short shift it. I put washers under the springs in the clutch it hasnt slipped after that. It did make clutch feel stiffer to pull. But was worth it for getting clutch to stop slipping.
You may want to make sure theres enough room to fit and still keep springs in place last yime i took mine apart i ended up put a tiny dot of jbweld on washer and springs.
Hope that helps in your setup.
Solid advice! 👍
Man! I don't think he should be riding that thing in flip flops lol!
Poor poor Vasily,we don't use the clutch lever on old skool 2 smoke bikes brah,we simply throttle back slightly, and then upshift,fact... Downshifting,we throttle up and down shift, ignoring zee clutch lever.. same as a Pingel shifter does, but we use our foot to shift instead of a solenoid... It's worked well for many decades from motocross, to Enduro racing, to super bikes,to the Isle of Mann racing as well as pretty much any other serious motorsickle racing anywhere .. Try it,you might like it... 😉
That's what I already do
RD is so much better looking
If you don't like the RD350 Cafe Racer, I'd gladly take it off your hands..... Its beautiful. 😁🖤
Should have left at least 6 or 8 inches of stinger on your pipes. Shorten the silencer outer can.
i wish i could trust someone like you trust those generic cnc brake levers going 100 😭
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
They are both awesome but I will always land on the Cafe racer
Good job
Get that clutch replaced on that RD350.... and then trade it to me for my 94 AWD Astro van, then you can throw an Evinrude 2t V8 into the van with AWD and throw a nice futon mattress in the back and a mini fridge 😅
5:59I'm a little teapot short and stout... tip me up.. and i pour out..!
Flipflops and a tanktop.........but at least he's got a helmet on!
You need a Turbo on that machine.❤😊
Will bend shift fork shifting without clutch
I would look to the gearing instead of the clutch. Also doesn't sound as loud as it should be. 🤷♂️
If the clutch is slipping just shift with your feet and let off the gas don't use the clutch
Was he really benching 20lbs?? Or even 20kilos? 44lbs?? 😂 😆
@VasilyBuilds I have a question i would like your help i have watch allot of your videos before I go to bed so I can learn how to build things but I would like your help with building a go kart with a cbr600 engine can you help!!!!
A we'll maintained Rd 350 will smoke a 650cc bike anyday and can keep up with a litre class bike till 70 80 kmph
в конце что за пепелатс? забавный аппарат!
Or use nitro glycerin
🔥🙌🙏
illegaly early
@@katelynoar1051 damn, you beat me by a few seconds
That’s not the worlds quickest grom though.
The subframe on the yamaha is way too short. It looks bizarre. Maybe a fender could help.
RDs aren't 12k rpm bikes
The exhaust port is raised up on this one ported for top end,
banshee is way rich fuel/air like wayyy.
Rev limiter lmao two stroke bro
😂
@@VasilyBuilds love what you do brother I am a eighties kid and I love two strokes I have watched your fabrication skills grow so much you would make a great millwright
Seriously Vasily,I love you little brother, but yall need to take yer shit off of the streets and get it onto airport runways, industrial areas,or wtf out in the middle of nowhere where no traffic goes, and stop playing the hoodlum/hoonigan/hooligan card and acting the fool on the streets.. I wouldn't have posted this if I didn't want better for ya.. But eventually, you have to grow up, take responsibility, own up,man the eff up,and take that crap off the street son...
You need Better merch I looked but nothing looks worth buying 😢
Groms just suck. No grown man looks right on that child’s bike
