I think I went to school with Will. If I am not mistaken we were music students at Virginia Union University together and even toured with the concert choir there. Never forget that smooth baritone voice. Glad to see him doing well.

Prefer this version over the previous one Will put out on his 'After Tonight' album back in 2007. The other felt a bit flat to me performance-wise and especially out of place on that particular studio project. THIS ONE, however, well you can definitely feel Will fully accepting God's love in every note he sings! Production's a significant step up as well. Get the sense he was seeking a complete return to form after dealing with a serious auto-immune condition that severely hampered his ability to record and tour at the level he was most comfortable with the last several years. Latest album he put out could very well be his best effort since 2009's extremely tasteful nod to classic old school soul ('Classique'). Even non-Gospel fans shouldn't have much trouble getting into 'The Promise' since it doesn't beat you over the head with its holy inspirational message from start to finish.
