As a Aussie i'm really happy we are seeing a partnership between Australia and Korea. Korean quality and strengthening the relationship between two strong Asia Pacific Democracies.
As an Aussie, I'd like to see no partners, develop things ourselves, and export them ourselves, develop Australian jobs, and benifit Australia. Bugger this sharing. How about NOT sharing, maybe get 40 hr week jobs back, some stability and security for Australians. Not this bs of 2 and 3 part time jobs and constantly worry is there gunna be enough next week to feed the kids, buy new shoes etc. Ive lived under Tarrif systems, 40 hr week, and this job sharing bs. Only ppl job sharing benefits is corporations robs the worker of superannuation. Why do "short run". Koreons built 6000 already..that could be a fulltime facrory here, support a sandwitch shop down the rfoad, who buy rolls at local bakery, who hires a guy to mow his lawn, who pays for tennis lesson for his boys, who spends money at coles, where he pays your daughter in her 1st job. Yeah lets send the money for complex components OS. 6000, that is enough to support "complex small run production" which they say is our skill. Absolutely no reason it cant be all done here

the new K9 155mm has already begun production in the old Ford Geelong factory. No brainer to increase production there for the next decade and more by producing the as21 as well.
This is one of the toughest choices to make by defence as this AS21 Redback and the Lynx are just such great vehicles and I don't think Australia will lose with either choice!
Best IFV in the world right now is German Puma which had quite potential and lots of upgrade packages, but its also more expensive. Still this vehicle will serve nicely.
There seems to be a lot of overlap between this project and the LAND 400 Boxer CRV. Could one vehicle really not do both the CRV and IFV roles? Is the Redback IFV not fast enough?
@@B61Mod12 i know im 7 months late, so forgive me by saying what im about to the boxers handle recon, meant to move fast and not engage in pitched battles, more of a skirmishing and communication and observation role. the redback and other IFV's are meant to carry and deliver troops into pitched battles and support those troops during said battle. that said both the boxer and the redback and its competitor could technically do the same job. however the boxer is lacking some of the offensive capabilities the redback has in it's ADF adoted variant. so it will likely underperform under frontline combat conditions and not be as usefull. when it will fair much better speeding around the countryside and performing recon operations to forward info to the rest of the units deployed. all of the above however means fuck all because IFV, APC, CRV, AFV and so on are pretty much well the same thing these days, its all about configuration of the vehicle since the proliferation of compact and bespoke turrets containing 25mm and up cannon with AT launchers bolted on or carried inside for infantry use. these things have become far more boring and confusing as a result unfortunately

Britain needs to be looking at this now that the Ajax infantry fighting vehicle has collapsed on its backside. Infact, If I worked for Hanwa Defence, I'd be contacting them to view a demonstration vehicle. Ajax is over budget, over priced and total garbage and they haven't even finished the project. Must have Wifi and netflix 8. Must have separate messing facilities, canteen and boozer 9. Must go faster then a V8 super car 10. Must also come in black.

The fact Australia has to outsource heavy industrial production pisses me off no end. The mining sector requires so much heavy industry we could keep it alive simply by making Australian mines use locally produced haul trucks, dozers and excavators.
What’s wrong with it being flat? You don’t sacrifice any internal capacity which is what’s needed for an IFV. You’ll also find it’s likely spaced armor. It doesn’t need anti air capability it’s an IFV not an SPAA. I’m sure it’s main gun or Spike missiles are capable at targeting any low flying Helo’s
Nice BUT good luck facing anything on wheels with firepower, we proved wheeled vehicles can take out tracked no problem in Africa. So the question? Why Tracked? Japan has started moving to wheeled some of which may have less armor but history has proven this is not such an issue (maybe different these days due to guiding). Another plus to wheeled is certain repairs can be done while mobile and in some cases engines replaced while being towed! into battle, yes this has happened, plenty! Track has its uses for sure but to be a mobile infantry? I think it is outdated now.
It also makes excellent strategic sense to partner with a fellow Pacific nation over even a traditional European ally. TBH Australia & S.Korea will need each other to be strong partners in keeping the Pacific free.
Australian soldiers went to war in Afghanistan with Landrovers! Clearly the Australian Defence Force does not know what they are doing. This tracked vehicle is not what Australia needs. Australian infantry do not fight overseas. Only Australian special forces fight overseas as infantry. Normally special forces do not fight as infantry, but that is the role of Australian special forces. They need an 8-wheeled fighting vehicle that has a gun that can kill a tank. These are easier to transport, can drive on paved roads, does not need transport trailers, can travel fast at 100km/hr and can drive off-road anywhere. Very effective and versatile type of vehicle.
It reminds me of the Bradley I.F.V. You now the ones that are getting shot up by Russian drones etc...not to mention the pommy Challengers UK... Leopards..... Russians know how to build tanks and "turrets"...& weapons to destroy them. Good Luck.

Wheels don't have the mobility of tracks so they can't keep up with the tanks. It's as simple as that

24년 예산은 더 깎여서 배정 될 것 같은데 경상수지 반토막 나고 국가재정 엉망으로 해놔서 다음 년도 예산 갈 수록 깎여서 나올 것 같은데
2023년 9월 안에 윤석렬 정권 완전히 퇴진되게 하소서
