    After my 2 most recent bike were stolen , GSXR1000 and ZX10R i decided to go back to my roots with a SV650s , used to own one years ago and just love the easy going nature of the bike, sounds great and fun to ride.

    I like this bike, not because it's for me, but because Suzuki chose to build it. Just from looking at the seating position, I know it would kill my neck. But I can tell you. My brother would F'n LOVE this bike. It's 100% his tastes. And that's the beauty part about this hobby, there is something for everyone. Nice review!

      Exactly, we all have individual tastes and I think the motorcycles you ride are an extension of those tastes.

    I love my Suzuki sv 650 classic :-) year 1999
    because is build from good materials, is not heavy , is in good condition also after years, have good cold starts , enough power for nice acceleration (to 140km/h same ho VTR 1000f :-) and beautifful sound.

    Love the modern interpretation of cafe in a budget bike. If you want 50’s retro, the RE GT 650 is waiting for you.

    if you don't like cafe racer style bikes, what are you doing testing one. You start out with a bias against it and then just trot out your prejudices. people looking at reviews are there to learn what the pluses and minus are, as compared to OTHER bikes.

      Wow thank you for your incredible insight as to how I should run my channel. Did you know what many people who might be looking at the SV650X are not into cafe racer styles either? No, because otherwise you wouldn't have written such an unhelpful comment.
      Instead of slating my video you should get off your keyboard and go and make your own review video. No? Didn't think so. Those who can - do. Those who can't - they moan with a stick up their butt by trolling the comments.

    These days they are making such nice 650 nakeds,Really great bikes to ride.Who needs more power then these machines can dish out and the handling on them is really nice.

      For me the power of the SV650 is great but I'd just like it to have slightly taller gearing so that it isn't so buzzy at motorway speeds. It's done easily enough though by changing the chain and sprockets about a bit.

    What would those young chaps from the 60s be riding today if they were still as young and agile? Easy, 1000cc superbikes. They are really the modern day cafe racers

    • @RebelRides
      @RebelRides  5 лет назад +1

      Unlikely as they would struggle to find the insurance as a young rider under the age of 30. To be fair they'd probably be on de-restricted 125's as that's all most guys under 20 can ride.

    I think they could have done a better job styling this and made it more retro.I love the standard SV650.Its a great bike for new riders.

    Would be nicer with standard grab rails, no plastic under the tank, analog gauges from a 1999 model, and I could frankly do without the bikini fairing. Had a DL650 so I know the motor. Hits red line too fast down low. Sat on the SV650x a couple days ago. Might trade in my 2018 MT-07 in for this. I have a 1986 Yamaha SRX600 that I put 40,000 miles on in four years (daily rider). I'm 6'2", 180#. Have 9,500 miles on my MT-07 since mid- August 2018 (bought new). That upright of a bike is a PITA on the highway where this riding style on my SRX and this SV are identical to me and much more comfortable. Wish it had the MT-07 motor in it though...lol. WAKE UP YAMAHA!!! I am so happy that Suzuki went back to clip-on grips like an old SV650s of yore. Those were nice bikes back then. Don't forget the SV1000s either. Maybe Suzuki with grace us with this look and feel with 1,000cc's in the near future,,,, hint, hint!

      A new SV1000 based would be nice. Not hard to do because the engine is still going strong in the V-Strom 1000.

    I prefer the styling of this version.
    How long did you ride it until your body/wrist got sore? 1 hour max?
    I prefer my upright seating, but I prefer this paint job and front cowl over the other SV650s variants.

    Can’t drink coffee and eat donuts on this cafe! But I guess you can spend time with Suzi and eat the miles.

    One thing I would not call this bike is a cafe "racer"? Then again there aren't any current Suzuki products on the market these days that would interest me at all. Good review though.

    just between us what was the top speed , bike looks nice

    • @RebelRides
      @RebelRides  5 лет назад +2

      I didn't check that but I would expect it to be about 120-125mph max based on how it's geared. I think a change of sprockets and you'd probably get over 130 but you would lose the midrange punch.

  • @paulridgwell3273
    @paulridgwell3273 2 года назад

    Why do you keep hitting the rev limit all the time do you not know when to change gear

    • @RebelRides
      @RebelRides  2 года назад

      🤣🤣🤣🤣 So, you didn't get that I'm making a point of it being short geared? The point is that's fine on the naked, upright bike, but it doesn't work as well on a bike with a bikini cowl and clip-ons. You want to be able to rev the nuts off it, but you can't. Suzuki should have changed the gearing but they went the cheap route, like they always do.

  • @patmaster220

    This bike is awesome but for me the clip-ons are a deal breaker.
