Halestorm won the "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance" Grammy for this song, in 2013. (Song was released in 2012). This is one of the best Rock songs I've EVER heard. It's just soooo driving and intense! It makes me wanna break sh*t! Hahahaha! Glad you love it, Ash! 👍🤘
Lzzy and Halestorm are incredible! First female to win a Grammy in the Hard Rock/Metal category. I'm convinced Dany sings with more grit/rasp solely because of Lzzy's influence.🤘
Sorry to hear you won’t be seeing them live. I saw them with The Warning at their very first show together and it was an incredible night. Dany, Pau and Ale came out into the crowd and enjoyed Halestorm with the rest of us. They were seated just off to my left.
I've made this same comment on other videos of yours but it bears repeating here. Lzzy Hale has the most incredible voice in the history of rock music. She can sing any genre and make it sound unbelievably great.
Lzzy's breath control will always blow me away! There is a part towards the end of "Shatter Me" (the song she signs with Lindsey Sterling). That if I try to sing along to it, it becomes physically painful. And that is not even really trying to hit proper notes. That is just trying to say all the words she says for as long as she says them.
I first discovered Halestorm back in 2007 when they opened with Avenged Sevenfold for Disturbed. I'd never heard them before. Lzzy blew me away with her live vocal ability. I became a huge fan from that night forward. This is a rabbit hole definitely worth exploring.
AreJay Hale sat in for Pau on Drums (on her kit, which is not an easy task as he is a lot bigger than her) to perform Narcistista with Pau being the front woman at a couple (or three) of their shows while they were touring together. Then, AreJay does this thing with huge drumsticks and picks someone to carry them out on stage to him and then uses them to play a song. He picked Pau to carry his sticks. So, yeah, there was a lot of mutual respect between the bands by the end of their tour.
@@elgonwilliams7624, I saw Arejay sit in for Pau for Narcissista in Colorado Springs, when they opened a few extra dates for Lzzy in the Fall of 2022 following the Mayday tour; October 4th to be exact. The lineup for those few shows was New Years Day (whom I didn't care for at all), The Warning and Halestorm. Being a lifelong professional drummer myself, I think that Arejay is a PHENOMENAL drummer and great showman. Unfortunately, he doesn't get the attention and accolades he deserves.
Thanks, Ashlena and James. I suggested this one in the comments under the Misery video, so I'm glad you had the same idea. I love this version. Lzzy is currently filling in on lead vocals with Skid Row and kicking ass per usual.
Nice Reaction! Every song they recorded in The Live Room is awsome! Lzzy has been filling in as singer for Skid Row recently. As far as I know it was for 4 shows, but Lzzy said in a radio interview recently that it could lead to more shows with them. I've watched one fan video that was actually pretty good. Lzzy sang I Remember You at the Nugget Casino in Reno, NV on 5/31/2024.
Rockshow, Dear Daughter, Mz Hyde, Freaks like me, Here's to us. Familiar Taste Of Poison -Live on Jimmy Fallon (21-07-2010) is outstanding. Loved your reaction.
Halestorm are one of the best live bands I have ever seen so it is really too bad you can't go see them. I still can't believe the tour is not hitting Toronto. But it IS hitting Kelowna, lol. I'll be driving 4 hours to see them in Vancouver.
Halestorm is a tour band, they spend most of their time touring 😁 And Lzzy's voice is this good live! ❤ Check out their songs Familiar Taste of Poison, Back from the Dead, Apocalyptic, Mayhem, I Like It Heavy. Or maybe just all the albums 😂
I got introduced to Halestorm from a local FM radio station. WRAT 95.9 in Belmar, NJ. They'd play them quite often. In their early days, being from Pennsylvania just across the Delaware River, they'd play a lot here. They would take over the station at times and played the PNC Arts center and The Stone Pony summer stage often. There's a great live version of "Break In" from a show at PNC on RUclips. Don't worry, you're not the only one not going to see Halestorm or The Warning. They're playing a festival type show here in Camden, NJ in September, I believe. While it's only a little over an hour and half from me, I'm in no shape to stand or sit around for hours outdoors anymore.
Halestorm is a division group for my wife and I. My wife loves the softer side of them but and I like it too but I much prefer the their harder side. Two of my favorites are “I Like It Heavy” and “Back From The Dead”. Cheers from Texas! 🇨🇱🤘🏻😎
I really like this song I recommended it after I Miss the Misery reaction because Lzzy kills in this version the acoustic at this same session is cool too. Thanks for checking it out.
I still say, Lzzy is like a combination of Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks with a modern metal edge. Also, if you get the chance, listen to the Hu Band with Lzzy Hale performing "A Woman Song"
I got into them and was obsessed when they released their first popular single that blew them up “I Get Off” I was in high school and listened to them so much. Lzzy is amazing. She’s also so adorable and sweet in person. I went to a show and had meet and greet and she is SUPER tall and I’m only 5’0 and she came in for a hug unexpectedly and literally lifted me off the ground lmao. I am so here for more reactions! As far as that person who commented… don’t hide their name just expose them LOL kidding… sort of. Also I used to be a paying patron but ya girl had to find a new apartment and so like, adult stuff. Lyzzy's vocals are IN-sane! Have you watched Halestorm's live show from Wembly yet? You will LOVE it, if not. I recommend you react to "Amen" Live from Wembley arena. They play it with an extended outro. I know how you love a great outro!
This was nothing compared to the vocal solo on I Get Off live at Wembley a few weeks ago. The full performance video not the separate song videos though because its cut out. Start at 10:40 and at 17:50
Yes, she sounds that good live. I live in Melbourne, Australia, and I was SO happy to see them tour here. So very happy I did see them live, as I had never expected them to be in Australia. Familiar taste of poison please :) Yes I felt the same way about break in btw.
They recently released their concert live from Wembley. My personal favorites are Do not disturb, Mz Hyde, Rockshow and I miss the misery. Thanks for the reaction!
I'm glad you did this one, I suggest it on the first reaction you did of Halestorm. Lizzy does alot collaborations with other band, and people. She did [she talks to angels], with Mark Morton, during covid, live over the internet. The last verse of the song she kills it! Her voice is unreal! Check it out , it will blow your mind! Thanks , I really enjoyed your reactions.
Hey Ashlena, nice reaction. I saw Halestorm when they toured with The Warning in '22. Really good concert. Don't worry I'm sure you'll see them soon. They have a new album supposedly coming out this summer. In the meantime, if you want to do an album review, check out their most recent album Back From The Dead. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
This video you reacted to is the "calling card" I use to introduce Halestorm to others because I don't enjoy all the overdubbed "Lzzy's" in the studio versions. She doesn't need it! That voice? OMG
This is one of their best live performances imo. They’ve been one of my favorites ever since I heard them. You should check out I am the fire if you’re still interested.
I don't know where I heard of this band back in high school ngl!! They weren't huge on the radio etc but we absolutely jammed to their CDs. You're getting plenty of recommendations so I won't flood you with more, but as a longtime fan, you should take a listen to their newest album at some point. Especially if you are going to go see them live now! They just put out a full set of songs live that I got a ways into and it's pretty incredible. (There's actually also a full recording of the show where I saw them live - at the Beats and Eats in Royal Oaks last summer. I love that I'll go 6 hours on a train to see them at a little festival, but making it over to Tinley Park is too much trouble for me XD. I definitely understand the struggle of the choice, especially when you factor in dealing with concert crowds/traffic)
There are concert videos on RUclips as well as interviews with Lzzy about her vocal health and approach to singing. And as I mentioned last time there is a duet video of Amy Lee and Lzzy Hail on RUclips. I know it’s not the same as being at the concert but you can enjoy it.

One you might want to check out is Halestorm's cover of "Girl Crush" from SiriusXM's live sessions. It's a good listen even if you don't do a reaction to it.
Great job with your thoughts and opinions on Love Bites (So Do I) from Halestrom Lizzy Hale is the Bad A-- B- tch lead singer and her brother is the drummer and backup Vocals sorry can't think of this name . You have to check out the song that's on her shirt I miss the misery .
A couple other amazing women, look up , Maria Brink from, In this moment, and Tatiana Shmayluk from jinjer, try “pieces”. For a first listen. The video is in a studio.
I was going to suggest Wembley too. If you do, don't use the single song cuts from it because they cut a lot out on them pull from the full set video. The song I Get Off starts at 10:40 ends at 17:50 it has a part that sounds like it's over but is just setting up for a vocal solo like you have never heard before. Will blow your mind I guarantee.
Glad you are enjoying Halestorm. I believe you should start from their beginnings with "I Get Off'" & "Its Not You". Since you already done two from their best album (their 2nd "A Strange Case of...") other off that album which are classics, "Mz. Hyde" & "Freak Like Me". Here are otherss I would recommend, "I am Fire", "Mayhem", "I Like it Heavy (Live), "Uncomfortable" and my favorite, which is a ballad, "The Silence". This is a live Studio recording: ruclips.net/video/1U7K62gKsH8/видео.html Enjoy! BTW, don't know why this one is popular, But don't do a 'Familiar Taste of Poison". Its a terrible Cheezy song that sounds from the 80's. LOL!
Omfg you didn't sell the tix. Damn. Now you understand. This is why I recommended this song after your last one. This song is a great display of her crazy vocal tone and range. This is another one of my favorites of theirs. Live performance of Wicked Ways. You should check out lizzy fronting Skid Row she is amazing but she better keep looking over her shoulder Danny from the Warning is gunning for the crown 👑
@@ashlenamusic Well, I know you said you don't like the official video's, but it is their first hit, the one that made them famous and it's really badass and an empowering song especially for women. So, I still highly recommend it.
Wow! Heard a couple of their songs before and thought they were pretty good, but still wondered why all the hype. Now I get it. Sorry you won´t be going to their show.
It's not that I'm sexist. I've simply become aware that almost all of the greatest (new) rock that I've been hearing in the last year comes from bands that are either all female or headed by a female. Women are better. I've always known that. It just took a long time for rock music to catch on.
Oh honey you should've found a baby sitter and taken them with you I've have the privilege of seeing them tighter in concert twice and talking about one hell of a show.....just like Amy Lzzy never disappoints. If you like the growlwhich is my favorite part of her singing too check out Back from the dead!

I know you said what you said about not taking regular old folks suggestions butt… Quicksand Jesus live with kiddos is new, live and impressive!! Just sayin!!
Lzzy gets a lil too much in love with her own screams at time. Her singing voice is beautiful and, while the screams are cool, she could sing me anything and I would listen. Wish she would concentrate more on singing and less on screaming. Just my opinion. Another great reaction.
Exactly how I feel. She has such a beautiful voice and a great singer, but too much screaming kinda ruins the experience at live shows. Though they do put on a great show. Last two albums had way too much screaming on them. I am hoping their new album will have less of that.
no this aint live-live .google on youtube: ''fromiliar taste of poisen live in frankfurt 2.11'' if you want to see voice-insanity. now that IS mental a bit more than mental.but yes what she does in this vid,she can do fairly easy live as well. but becaus she does 250 shows a year, she's not able to do it all the time without having false notes in between with some songs. dispite her best efforts. shame but understandable if you deep-frie your voice every.single.night.
Not a fan of "screamey" singers (male or female) so it was not in my wheelhouse. Started out good, but then, for me, desended into something else! I like it......but I don't! Please hurry with another one.......but don't! See what I mean!
yup.. seen her live.. i couldn't believe that she could sing like that
Same she is insane

Love your reaction if you want a song ware lzzy just goes off I suggest takes my life live at Wembley
Sweeeet
I was going to suggest Wembley too. If you do, don't use the single song cuts from it because they cut a lot out on them pull from the full set video. The song I Get Off starts at 10:40 ends at 17:50 it has a part that sounds like it's over but is just setting up for a vocal solo like you have never heard before. Will blow your mind I guarantee.
@@LostHate your so right about about the individual songs being cut and plus then you don't get to see how Lzzy is with the crowd
Here are otherss I would recommend, "I am Fire", "Mayhem",
"I Like it Heavy (Live), "Uncomfortable" and my favorite, which is a ballad, "The Silence". This is a live Studio recording: ruclips.net/video/1U7K62gKsH8/видео.html
Enjoy!
BTW, don't know why this one is popular, But don't do a 'Familiar Taste of Poison". Its a terrible Cheezy song that sounds from the 80's. LOL!
I appreciate you telling me what not to do 🤣
Omfg you didn't sell the tix. Damn. Now you understand. This is why I recommended this song after your last one. This song is a great display of her crazy vocal tone and range.
This is another one of my favorites of theirs. Live performance of Wicked Ways. Heavier song: ruclips.net/video/9XqvRRKqEOo/видео.html
This is a full live performance they posted recently on their YT channel: ruclips.net/video/m2G_QZPCrPE/видео.html
Lizzy is giving me Biff Naked vibes, but obviously much more metal. Maybe it's her attitude that's reminding me of Biff.
I love bif naked. Met her not that long ago at the mall randomly lol
Hi Ashlena, thanks for your great reaction. Now you know, why is Dany such big fan of Lzzy :) If you want check something brand new, look for this yesterday released collab: "Halestorm & I Prevail - can u see me in the dark? (Official Lyric Video)"
I will check it out
You should check out lizzy fronting Skid Row she is amazing but she better keep looking over her shoulder Danny from the Warning is gunning for the crown 👑
I'm not a patron, sorry, but watch I'm the fire. Another great song❤
Xx
You need to listen to Halestorm "I am The Fire" it is fucking awesome!
I do! They didn’t do that one at the live show I went to
@@ashlenamusic Well, I know you said you don't like the official video's, but it is their first hit, the one that made them famous and it's really badass and an empowering song especially for women. So, I still highly recommend it.
This was a live studio version. The album version doesn't sound like this. This is way better.
Have you checked out the Pretty Reckless?
I am a fan! Love that band
Wow! Heard a couple of their songs before and thought they were pretty good, but still wondered why all the hype. Now I get it. Sorry you won´t be going to their show.
It’s ok they’re coming to Toronto in July with I prevail! Got tickets!
@@ashlenamusic fantastic! Hope you are going to do a little concert review thingie?
Always xx
It's not that I'm sexist. I've simply become aware that almost all of the greatest (new) rock that I've been hearing in the last year comes from bands that are either all female or headed by a female. Women are better. I've always known that. It just took a long time for rock music to catch on.
🤘🏽
I am the fire
Oh honey you should've found a baby sitter and taken them with you I've have the privilege of seeing them tighter in concert twice and talking about one hell of a show.....just like Amy Lzzy never disappoints. If you like the growlwhich is my favorite part of her singing too check out Back from the dead!
That’s ok! I’m seeing them in Toronto and California in October xx
Live is better! Going for the 8th time next month ruclips.net/video/uUjeU37_Dmg/видео.htmlsi=zPCSxslgA0RgHWpT
Check out this fan made video of a cover of Skid Row-Slave to the Grind
Amazing high notes live!
I know you don’t like music videos but you should check out Wicked Ways you won’t be disappointed
hi ash,i would love to see the warning and lindsey stirling do something, with that said i think you would like lindsey with lizzy hale, the song is called shatter me, over 100 mil views.
Will do!
Ashlena it has a violin in it there's a good live version
I know you said what you said about not taking regular old folks suggestions butt…
Quicksand Jesus live with kiddos is new, live and impressive!!
Just sayin!!
Skidrow*
Lzzy gets a lil too much in love with her own screams at time. Her singing voice is beautiful and, while the screams are cool, she could sing me anything and I would listen. Wish she would concentrate more on singing and less on screaming. Just my opinion. Another great reaction.
Exactly how I feel. She has such a beautiful voice and a great singer, but too much screaming kinda ruins the experience at live shows. Though they do put on a great show. Last two albums had way too much screaming on them. I am hoping their new album will have less of that.
@@FunEcar I've seen them twice and the first time was MUCH better. Don't find too many people that agree with my take on this. lol
no this aint live-live .google on youtube: ''fromiliar taste of poisen live in frankfurt 2.11'' if you want to see voice-insanity. now that IS mental a bit more than mental.but yes what she does in this vid,she can do fairly easy live as well. but becaus she does 250 shows a year, she's not able to do it all the time without having false notes in between with some songs. dispite her best efforts. shame but understandable if you deep-frie your voice every.single.night.
Not a fan of "screamey" singers (male or female) so it was not in my wheelhouse. Started out good, but then, for me, desended into something else! I like it......but I don't! Please hurry with another one.......but don't! See what I mean!
🤣
