This movie made me cry so much. But this movie is why I think Hayden is a good actor, because his acting in this is relatable and real. He really portrays the angry, hurting boy.
Also, bad script really does ruin acting, especially if the actor doesn’t feel good about it or objects.
Oh, also Awake is really good as well. When he does that scream as the doctors cut into him, it was terrifying.
Most of the movies Hayden's been in haven't done very well at the box office, but that's not even his fault. He really is a great actor, he's just had bad luck with his roles after Star Wars. I actually have a lot of respect for him because he left Hollywood and fame behind. I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves again.

Just watched the movie, and not only it was great, but to see Heydan stand up with actors in the caliber of Kevin Kline, additionally being nominated for a primary award, at 20 years old, is insane. Never mind the fact that two years later he also played amazingly in Shatter Glass, if it wasn't for misdirection of films and the poor work, he wouldn't been great through his career.
i mean despite some movies being bad i feel he did great in all his performances and i love watching him in all his projects, but obviously some performances are better than others, but i love him sm

It’s amazing how good he was in this and shattered glass but people hated on him for bad dialogue in Star Wars
He was also good in Higher Ground, Awake, The Outcast, and First Kill.

He has a very promising career. He was praised for the very first projects he did. The play this is our youth got great critics just as this movie and shattered glass. But then after Star Wars he never got praised by critics again. It pretty much ruined promising career

Hayden has been on the down low these past few years. Maybe it's because he hasn't been doing super well in his personal life, maybe he's lost some confidence in himself, maybe a combination of both--whatever the reason, it's a shame because he had always excelled at these weighty, emotional turmoil roles (the exact roles that the Academy/GG/SAG/etc. love). Hopefully the Kenobi show will whet Hayden's appetite for acting again and we'll see him more in the future.
i think he just wanted out of hollywood for a while and to settle down a bit on his farm with his daughter. the star wars hate didnt help and that shit carried on for years and years.
@@MELTEDBUHTTER There is a subset of the SW fandom that is very toxic--very cruel with their words and dissatisfied with anything that doesn't conform to their head canon. It's like going to a museum and trash talking a painter because he/she didn't use the colour palette they wanted. Unfortunately, this subset is also the loudest and drowns out everyone else. I hope that Hayden (and Ewan) recognizes this more now and tries to not take it too personally; it's the unfortunate nature of the beast with large franchises.
If Hayden feels more energized and in a better place mental health-wise, I would encourage him to get back in the game if he still has the same passion for the craft that he did two decades ago. He has an emotional gravitas very suited to serious drama roles.
Totally unrelated, but it always makes me happy to hear that he makes time for his daughter. That's important. Kids grow up in a flash.
Well thankfully Hayden is back as Anakin Skywalker, and people love it, including my brother and I.

I watched the movie and it was great! The story and plot was good and the Christensen did a great job at acting as a teen with angst. The character development was also nice to see from all characters, not just Sam. It was a beautifully emotional film and most definetly a tearjerker. I would love to find another movie like this.

George has the dubious gift of coaxing the worst performance possible out of a good actor. It goes beyond the bad dialog. Maybe something to do with making them stand in front of a green screen emoting for months on end. Torturous.
@@jblox1990I still feel like the prequels got a lot of unnecessary hate. Lucas had a lot of good qualities too and you can tell the films were a labor of love. Because the fans were so toxic to not only the films but the actors, George lost his motivation and sold it to Disney. I feel like the hate that is spewed is more of sheep on the band wagon than original thought processing.
Not to mention, that when the first prequel movie was advertised to come out the fans of the originals, who grew up with them, they were used to a space western vibe and not the space opera with samurai vibes, Shakespearian political intrigue tale, that they got. So they complained about that too.
At approx every two minutes from 4.00 I am screaming at the screen "for fux sake, Sam, stop being timid and kill (the antagonist)!"
Every normal fully functioning human knows, well before they're teenagers, that the only reason you appear to be dependent (on anyone) is because you are being abused - defrauded, dehumanized, psychologically terrorized, gaslit - and that is your fault because you are letting "them" abuse you.
