On the subject of someone renouncing salvation, I really don't understand how a true believer could ever do that. I've talked to people who claim they used to be a Christian, and when I asked them what once made them a Christian, they talked about being a good person, going to church, their parents were Christian, but they couldn't tell me the gospel.
I know people who stopped going to church, or even were mad at God for some reason. But I've never known a person to have confidence, trust in the gospel, to later say "I don't believe that anymore".

I am having a hard time with what Paul is talking about in 2 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 12 , and with what Jesus is saying in Matthew chapter 10: verse 33. Jesus say; " whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
Paul say almost the same thing in 2 Timothy chapter 2, verse 12(b) " if we deny him, he also will deny us:" I am not worried about my salvation at all but when I heard you giving your understanding on verse 12 of 2 Timothy chapter 2, it didn't sound good when it entered my ears. I know that Jesus said before men, but Paul doesn't seem to specified if it is in our faith that we deny him( the him being written in italic- so the him must be our Lord .) So, Paul say that him will also deny us. What is the meaning of Paul with that saying?

    • @ColumbusBibleChurch
      @ColumbusBibleChurch  4 года назад +5

Tit 1:16 explains that the phrase "deny him" refers to the believer's works.
Tit 1:16 KJV - They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

While a believer should not sin, salvation is not based on a believer not sinning. Notice what Paul says in Rom 7:
Rom 7:15 KJV - For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:19 KJV - For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

The most needed message when most people follow a religion and call themselves Christians, while actually rejecting Christ by adding some sort of works to the Gospel, which is a false gospel.. Can a true believer kill someone and still go to heaven? Yes, because Jesus paid it all..

So, someone can literally walk in wickedness, fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, and still be saved, whether they want to, or not? Yep, sounds like something Satan would want someone to believe so they don't actually follow Christ for Eternal Life. Hey, but, at least you will have peace of mind!
No, true saving faith is a miraculous work of God that requires a response from us (rev. 3:20). We are saved from sin, not in spite of sin. Once saved, we are led by the Holy Spirit, but, have to follow Him (Gal. 5: 25 and Rom. 8:14). 1 John 3: 34 also states that he that keeps God's commandments abides in Him, so clearly this goes against the free grace cult. And, it is interesting that in John 1 we are told that those who believe on Christ are the Sons of God, but, according to Romans 8:13-14 so are those who are led by and walk in the spirit. Obviously, there is a very clear connection between what Biblical "believing" is and walking with Christ. After all, Jesus even told us that His sheep hear his voice and FOLLOW Him, and He gives them eternal life.
The presenter of this video also misrepresents 1 Cor. 3. Notice how that while our works (as FOLLOWERS of Christ) will be tested, our foundation is still Christ. However, if one denounces Christ they forfeit salvation, plain and simple. 1 Cor. 3 speaks to our rewards/loss at the judgement, but make no mistake about it, the genuine Christian WILL bear fruit. There is no such this as a Christian who only has works that will be burned. That is called a false Christian who had a false assurance. Christ even says that apart from Him we can do nothing, so even our works that help us grow in Christ are a miraculous work of Him working in our hearts. For someone to walk in darkness simply shows that the light of Christ is not in their hearts. This is also something that the early Church preached heavily on! Also, just as the parable of the Sower and seed states, only the true Christian WILL bear fruit. Some will have 100-fold, some 60-fold, some 30-fold. Yet, all TRUE believers will bear fruit. After all, like it or not, we will be known by our fruits.
It's amazing that this presenter quoted Romans 11: 6, which is in reference to the Israelites and his Jewish kindred who sought to be justified by their religious Jewish Works, but, neglects to discuss Romans 6, which specifically preaches against willful sin and the assumption that one can continue in sin and be saved! And, how about Rom. 11: 16-24? Clearly one is kept by the power of God (1 Pt 1: 5) by faith, but denouncing Christ will only lead to hell. Also, Paul highlighted the difference between saving grace through faith and works in Gal. 5: 1-6. This is a perfect example of Christians who were tempted to perform certain "works" that they thought may get them saved. However, Paul said that if they try to keep even part of the law they are guilty of the whole law and Christ is no effect to them, and are FALLEN from GRACE. So, if it's 100% by grace we are saved, then the logical conclusion is that we can also fall from grace! Funny how these verses are never preached by free gracers. Again, at least they have peace of mind!
    I guess Hebrews 5:9, Rom. 2: 4-11, Gal. 6: 7-9, 1 John 2: 24-25, 1 Cor. 15: 1-2, Rom. 6: 15-23; Matt. 10:22; John 15: 1-8; 1 Cor. 10: 5-12, Heb. 3: 12-19; Heb. 10: 26-27; Col. 1: 21-23; James 5: 19-20; Rev. 3: 5 (just to name some of the verses) are not in their Bibles. Free Grace is nothing but a cult.

Working out your salvation with fear and trembling means working out on what you already have and not on what you don’t have. Example : When we workout in a gym, we are building up our body.. a body which we already have. In other words, “Grace is not a license to sin”. We have to fear the lord. Many born again Christian take this freedom from God and live a disgraceful and careless life, dirty and wicked. Therefore, as true regenerated people of Christ, we must revere our Holy God and live a life worthy of his calling.

You mean to tell me I have to believe to be saved? I have to have faith to be saved? You are preaching works salvation, I don't have to do anything to receive a gift. The Lord rebuke you hypocrites, "for by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." The understanding has gone completely over your heads: You are saved by grace through faith, not of yourselves or works, lest any man should boast; yet we must believe, and of ourselves earn grace by faith? Absolutely not. That verse is speaking to people who are following the commandments of Christ, which shall be saved, though not because of what they do, or have done; but what God has done through Jesus. Please! what manner of life is a christian to live other than Christ. Please don't jeopardize your soul! Follow the teachings of Christ and the apostles! "If you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Please look at all Jesus' teachings, they are eternal life, and they do require something of you. To believe is to "hold dear" and "trust", not to "acknowledge" or "accept" (look up the etymology). God bless, luckily the Holy Ghost guides us to all truth. *wipes sweat of forehead" Amen. And I do mean this with much love. I care about you.

What we have faith in is that Jesus died for us on the cross and His blood justifies us. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We already believe Jesus is Lord and we know we cannot be perfect. Anything we do is only by the Holy Spirit anyways. It’s Christ in us. It is a free gift that we receive through faith. We have to believe in what He did for us. No one is condoning sin. We turn from sin and do good works because the Holy Spirit leads us to do that. We are changed by the Holy Spirit. We are not changed to get saved, we are changed because we are already saved. We will never be perfect however. We get the Holy Spirit once we are saved. Since we are sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. The teaching of good works is great but it’s not for salvation at all, it’s simply because we are saved that we should now be doing those things. Jesus did finish it all. I pray you will realize the truth and have assurance of your salvation. I hope you will ask God to read His word in context. It’s easy to use verses to cancel out other verses, (ive done it before) but we have to read His word in context. I hope to see you there at home. God bless you. I love you and Jesus loves more! 😊❤️

Wow. Believing is not a work. All that entails is reading or listening and then believing the message. You definitely won’t attain salvation by following the gospel of the kingdom which was specifically for the Jews and not Gentiles. Too many people don’t rightly divide the word of Truth. Let’s be clear All scripture is Jesus words. It’s not just the red letters in your Bible. Paul was revealed the mystery which was hid in God that we can be called righteous by faith. I’m as righteous as I’ll ever be.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. You're forgiven by first humbling yourself by acknowledging your sins and making a decision to change your mind turn away from sin (Repent) only then will faith be evident. Believe with faith
that Jesus died on the cross was buried and rose again for the punishment we deserve for sin.
God's word says how to be saved.
      Romans 10:8-10
But what does it say? The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim 9 If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
