So good. Play it through that megaphone.
Hell yeah.
I'm so hyped for this game and I don't even have a PS5 to play on release. >.< Will be listening to your new album until the PC release. Amazing work man!
10/10 performance. Really amazing rendition
Man. The cat & the moogle doll be groovin' indeed...
I don't have specialized knowledge or skill in music theory and don't have a good "ear" or anything, am just a random nobody. But even I understand that this man is a cut above the fast majority of other solo guitar players on YT. Or at least that's what I feel.
I've played FF7 many times, I had never realised this song grooved so hard, well played!
Yeah, this was an unexpected favorite of the album, especially to play. I tried to play it a little drunk feeling. haha
Its because you were always distracted by how much cait sith sucked to pay attention to how good the music was lmao
I have always loved that Cait Sith’s theme is a reimagining of the Zozo theme from FF VI, any way we could get you to cover it for fun comparisons?
@@MyBiPolarBearMax our experiences are not the same. Cait Sith can be incredibly OP.
@@citizendepleted8 I totally see the similarities. I have a ton of FF6 music I would love to do.
I appreciate this performance, most do not know how 'all over the place' this piece really is. Sooo Jazzy. Reeves would concur.
👏
Wow, such a stylish tune. Performed exceptionally, as usual!
I've actually long liked this song, despite it not often getting much attention. I love the quality the guitar gives it, it's really showcases the personality in the track. Anyone who likes this song i think should really check it the "Brass de Bravo" (aka Bra★Bra) with the Siena Wind Orchestra's really tight version of it. Really grabs the jazz swing character of the song and runs with it
Funny thing is, I can totally see Reeve wearing that jacket off-duty XD
Nicely done, man.
This is one of my favorite renditions from the album. You’re swinging and laying down a cool groove. I love it!
In the words of Ash Williams (Evil Dead), its groovy baby 😅
So jazzy. Love it. Looks like you really enjoyed playing it, and that guitar sounds beautiful by the way.
Just a couple of more days till Rebirth!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤯
!!! I have it pre-ordered. I hope you can download it a bit prior. It is a pretyy hefty file size.
That was very fun to listen to😊
This sounded SO damn good. Bravo, good sir. 👏
Appreciate that!! 🙏
Caith Sith is way funnier to play in FF 7 Rebirth than the original!
I wouldn't learn how to play this in a lifetime
Random YT algorithm rec, so good man!
That Cordoba sounds great..
GG !!! 7777 lucky !!!
the sound of your guitar make me think about deling city music from FF8
That was great! You hit every note perfectly
Wow💛💛💛💛💛💛💜
Might even be better than the original wow.
why do your pulloffs sound so much nicer than mine :( is there some trick i'm not doing? If i pull straight off its way too weak and quiet but if i pull at an angle i get the volume in exchange for tone and each note in the 3-2-1 does a ba-wa-wa effect which is ugly.
On this song or in general? I often think of them like my left hand is plucking the string, followed by resting on the higher pitched string. Another idea is to not pluck the first note as loud so that the balance is better. The book Punping Nylon has some great slur exercises.
@@JohnOethGuitar Weirdly, it is just on the 3-2-1 part. Or at least it is most noticeable there. I think I figured it out though. Though it is the opposite of your advice which is probably concerning. If i pull up towards the head rather than perpendicular to the neck (less of a pluck) i get a cleaner more legato sound without the pitch distortion. This might be a bad practice hack :(
I'll check out the book though. Thanks for the advice. (are you still doing livestreams btw? yt hasn't mentioned it in ages)
@Idiomatick yeah slurs are a "whatever works" kind of thing. Haha I haven't streamed guitar since the FF7 stream. I did a couple Rebirth streams on Twitch. My back is bothering me again so I'm taking it easy, but I intend to stream more often.
@@JohnOethGuitar Don't sit like that guitarist painting by by Jean-Baptiste Greuze! Take care of your self man. I know you used to use a footstool too, if you still use it, don't. My back was a bit messed up from using one.
I think I'll try the 'correct' pulloff style for a bit and see if clicks, I might just be putting too much force into it and need to practice to be more smooth. The twangy sound really sounds gross on such a chill piece.
@@JohnOethGuitar Omg. I just figured it out!
I was over tensing for the pulloff run so i was just pinching too hard as i pulled off which pitched it up and back each pulloff. I wondered why it sounded ok pulling to open. It wasn't the pulloff finger's fault at all!
Haha, sorry for dragging you on my process of discovery. Much love for your help though (and all your work ofc)
GREAT. JUST GREAT 👌👌👌
Nice! I've been going through your tabs of these new songs and been finding myself coming back to this one a lot- it's a very fun one to play!
Currently up to about 0:42 and struggling to play this bit haha. Glad the video is out now so I can analyze what your fingers are doing 👀
My 012 012 321 sounds ugly :(
Thats awesome my dude! Cant wait to learn it :)
I love that your covering some of the less covered tunes, with your own flair to them!
Will you be doing Buried in the Snow?
I haven't finished the tracklist for volume 2, but Buried in Snow will definitely be on it.
Very playful vibe, man!
This album was a good chance to play some songs that are a bit less chill. Have a good one!
@@JohnOethGuitar as I said before, I can't wait to pick it up.
wow really so stylish!
yesssss
Love the dark outfit and visual theme for this song. Nice choice!
I don't play guitar, but this one sounds difficult. Lots of weird rhythmic stuff.
Thanks! A couple years ago, a guitar duo partner and I played a good bit of swing tunes to mix in with our classical set. It gave us a huge headache, because we were classically trained (used to mostly straight rhythms). haha It definitely paid off for arranging and playing this track.
Lol, I play piano, and syncopated swing rhythms always give me trouble (Yuffie's theme from FFVII Piano Collections comes to mind).

Awesome!
Swanky!
SO GOOD!
Cool!
Oh, I love this!
thank you so much for this beautiful cover. Cait Sith theme is my favorite piece of music from FFVII just because it suits the character so nicely and also really shows his nature with this “sneaky” sound :D FFVII inspired me to try learning guitar again and i was really happy to find your channel with all these majestic covers. i have an acoustic guitar so the learning process is going a little bit rough for me but i really hope to be able to play Cait Sith theme too one day
Appreciate you! I really loved doing this track and was surprised it worked so well. Good luck on your guitar journey!
@@JohnOethGuitar thank you sm!! yeah, it really worked out fantastic! good luck with your career going on!
This is very well played John
Very groovy! Thank you very much! 👏👏👏👏❤️✨
Nailed it, as ever! Underrated groove
Thanks, Glen!
Never paid much attention to this tune, how nice though!
Me either! It is a sleeper hit.
The drip!
Greased Lightning, baby. 😎
ah I love this cover! well done!
Thanks! I love the bounciness of it.
0:52 mog's reflection
lmao
I always felt there was something missing from your collections... It was Cait Sith, haha. This song has tons of groove. Love your rendition!
Oh, I love this! There's so much personality and character in your playing, it's got a loose feel while still being absolutely precise as usual. Seriously solid playing and a great arrangement.
Thanks!! I tried to give it a drunken saloon feel. lol
This is the best version of this song, by far.
You continue to set the bar. Nicely done!
Really good stuff
Thank you so much for the all the ff7 goodness lately ! it made me renew once more a patreon subscription to get all these great arrangements !
Appreciate you!
Great sound
Thanks, Leana! 🙏
