I relate to Mizuki a lot, not by having a different identity from the norm but about constantly being stuck in the past, thinking that everyone will leave them eventually and pretending everything is fine to avoid being a bother or saying something that will end up with me being all alone (It used to be a lot worse in the past). Words can hurt a lot, so please think before you speak..
@@shinisnotonfire personally I hc Mizuki as transfem, the further you look into her gender and how it’s translated into English, you realize it’s probably because of Japan’s system of referring to oneself that translators don’t quite know what to do with it. I’ve heard characters refer to Mizuki as “Mizuki-Chan” before and she did not seem bothered or offended by it in those scenes, so I do not think it is fair to correct someone on it.
@@iguessimhere2632 hcs are fine and all, but you said it yourself, it's just your headcanon, while _officially_ their gender isn't confirmed. as well as transfem (in which case "they/them" is still viable by the way), mizuki might be non-binary or even simply a crossdresser for all we know, so "they" is literally the most correct way to address this character as of now. yes, shizuku (and only her to my knowledge) calls them "mizuki-chan", but rui called them "mizuki-kun" and they happily use a typically masculine pronoun when referring to themselves. that doesn't mean anything, i'm just saying the -chan thing isn't a good point here. the thing is that their gender isn't "open to interpretation", it's literally just unknown, so how is it fair to casually use pronouns _you_ decided for them? obviously this isn't going to change your mind or anything, just stressing that my correction is in fact perfectly fair. well, i mostly replied in case it was one of those situations where someone genuinely didn't know anyway.
@@shinisnotonfire Mizuki herself never “decided” to use anything and if I hc a character in a certain way I will refer to them as such. Make no mistake, if her gender was confirmed by the creators of pjsk as exclusively non binary I’d be happy to refer to her as such, but I don’t think it really matters in the current state of her character. Mizuki is a fictional character with an unconfirmed gender and the pronouns we see used for her are translated from Japanese to English, a language that differs greatly from ours. I think it’s safe to use any pronouns a person wishes considering Mizuki is not real and will not be hurt if I do not “refer to her correctly.”
@@shinisnotonfire also to address the point about “Chan”, it is not to say that Mizuki is referred to and refers to herself exclusively femininely, it is just to point out that Mizuki doesn’t seem to be bothered by feminine terms being applied to them.
Honestly I still don’t see how mizuki lied to ena They just said that they will tell her when they are ready, and if they think they can’t tell her yet then they obviously aren’t ready Even if they won’t ever tell her it just means they are never ready to do it

bruh as a person who doesn't really understand their own gender and feels most comfortable with they/them, i can't believe people is getting so angry over what mizuki's REAL pronouns and identity are. mizuki is mizuki. get over yourselves because not only does it not affect you (and probably not other ppl either if they don't let it affect them) but also you could be enjoying mizuki's cuteness instead of being angry on mizuki's defense. -(disrespecting mizuki's pronouns) nothing has been officially said about mizuki's official identity or pronouns, it's all just assumtions (game uses they/them so it's officially they/them or mizuki is feminine so it must be she/her). not the company nor mizuki has ever stated anything, so right now saying this or that type of pronoun is the right one is just wrong. they're basically all headcanons. calling mizuki a they/them or a she/her shouldn't even be a problem since neither people calling mizuki that would automatically be transphobic (stop throwing this accusation around) or disrespectful (bc literally nobody can be sure what mizuki's pronouns are). nobody is saying any misinformation and nobody is saying any rude comments towards mizuki being this gender or that identity. there is no harm being made here. and also i feel like i need to say this, mizuki isn't a real person with real emotions? i don't know why people keep saying "i am a trans man and would hate it if i'm called a woman for looking cute and feminine," but like, mizuki specifically doesn't have any real life feelings, so it's weird that people are comparing their real emotions to how mizuki would feel. no, i still don't support misgendering or disrespecting the identities of fictional characters but that's just because by doing that, you're automatically disrespecting real people's identities ("ew why is that character gay" indirectly hurt real people but "this character doesn't have a definite identity and other characters call them they/them or she/her so since i don't know what to call them i'll use they/them or she/her" is different). you really can't disrespect people's identity when you don't know their identity (may be on accident you can but there should be no fights over it especially for the slight bit of chance you're disrespecting a fictional character's identity) -(being angry about it) i feel like people rlly should at most express discomfort and alienate those who calls mizuki he/him because (and they specifically says) since mizuki was born a boy, mizuki will stay a boy. or y'know, ignore. (unless an alarming percentage of people starts to believe misinformation like that, then it's probably okay to speak up. other than that you're waisting both your time and energy on trying to change a single person's mind that's probably already set in stone anyways or just wouldn't be swayed by some youtube comment) i am really tired of fandom fighting for something as small as being personally angry. yes it's in every fandom but it's probably better if there's atleast less of them. and if you still like to get angry and start fights by putting out statements thinking you're 100% without any plans to change your own mind (but instead only to change other people's minds) then mizuki would probably be very disappointed in you. stay safe
Game does NOT USE they them they use BOTH as she is also called she her on the story and cards And alao they them is wrongly trasnlated as ALL japenese lines and text refer to her as "she her" and they them is NOT used for her Its uncertain what led to this issue of wrong translation but mizukis issues are much deeper than being called "they them"
I mainly use she/her for Mizuki mainly because I think we can all agree it’s obvious she is trans coded. But also I just think she presents very feminine and I think the main reason they use they/them pronouns for her ingame is a part of keeping her identity a secret (even though it isn’t really a secret to us the player) But that is just my opinion. I think calling Mizuki she or they or even both is fine and I honestly don’t think it really matters all that much unless you are calling Mizuki a he or a boy. 😐 But anyways, I love Mizuki. Mizuki’s character is very well written and relatable even if you can’t specifically relate to the trans coding part I think she is very relatable 💖
