- In this video, I review the most common etiquette mistakes with wedding planning and I tell you what traditional etiquette says about these subjects.
In my business I refer to the Emily Post wedding Etiquette Guide www.amazon.com/Emily-Posts-We... as my go to resource.
Here are the 5 areas that people frequently break or disregard etiquette:
1. The ceremony processional.
For a specific advice on how to order your wedding processional check out this video: • How To Order Your Wedd...
2. Formal Dances need some direction on etiquette.
3. Skipping out on parent’s personal floral
4. Greeting Guests
5. How long your guests can go before you feed them a meal.
If you take only one thing from this video, let it be this: It’s not about following etiquette rules, its about knowing what they are. Then just do you! Have a wedding that is customary to you and your fiancé, to your established traditions and norms. Let it be about love, unity, and having an amazing time. Etiquette is meant to make things more comfortable, not to restrict your choices!

I have always loved etiquette rules, its so nice to have a guide to follow.
My daughter wants me to be one of her Bridesmaids. I not feeling good about it. What do you think? Is that respectful of me as MOB? I thought it didn't matter til we went to look at bridesmaids dresses. Now, I'm not so sure....
It's more common than you may think :)
What if the couple does not want a first dance?
That's okay, you can have an introduction and then they can be seated, or do the cake cutting. Anything can work, but it's always good to have a plan.
Can I ignore a wedding invite from a toxic estranged family member? To reply means some contact which makes me uncomfortable.
I say yes!
