whats been the most confusing for me is if we have to try and keep the expanded position as we sing? its hard hahah and I look pregnant. i also feel as if the air is ready just come out as im holding it in.. :/ maybe im taking too much breath?
The note will resonate. It’ll feel powerful and you’ll be able to do it several times. If you don’t use your diaphragm, the note will die out quickly and your throat will need a break shortly after (head voices aren’t sustainable for a long time)
When I sing from my diaphragm I automatically Iose the tension in my throat, how it hopefully is supposed to be and it also doesn't hurt anymore after singing. But there is one thing that's makes me a bit of trouble. After a while singing I feel a little bit light headed and because I'm used to the feeling of tension in my throat I get insecured quickly when it isn't there. I start to lose a bit of control over my voice and slide back to my unhealthy "throat support" then ...maybe I have to get use to this first...
Do you have any advice for me? I've had surgery on both sides of my ribs (right and left) and they are both pretty 'stuck'. I always succeed for a while, and then automatically go back... Or the singing sound so forced it's just not natural and right. It's like when I do that I have to relearn to sing. It's pretty demotivating as I'm not getting the hang of it and started hated singing more and more because of my straining, something needs to change
So if you breath in and feel tightness in the lower chest, is that a block? I don't feel like I'm breathing deep enough, despite my belly moving up and down. Just started doing this kind of breathing however, but was just wondering.
I love your videos, please translate to Spanish, you have really important information that is difficult to find in my language, in addition to examples - metaphors that I understand very well, I congratulate you on your channel, greetings from Mexico!
Wait a minute... You and every other good voice teacher on RUclips told me that singing from the diaphragm was a myth because the larynx makes all the sound, but good technique engages the diaphragm using the muscles around it.

You explained it very well and i will apply this technique when singing.
Can you give the lesson about lower and higher note practice?
I love how you actually demonstrate:)

What do u mean by compression?
Can I ask a question?? What is the difference between falsetto and head voice and how to do it?
There's a debate around those terms but I wouldn't worry too much about it. The way to do it is to make a wooo sound like when a kid goes down a slide
Power and color, if anything.
