      Brock Lynch I lost a 2 and a half pounder today. It doesn’t sound big to you but it is after being constantly skunked...

    This is so good! We can all appreciate the feeling it is to lose a tournament winning fish, the emotional rollercoaster afterward is unlike anything else!

    As heartbreaking as it can be and is, it wouldn't be called fishing if we landed all of them every time. The losses make the catches that much sweeter.

    Awesome video. Reminds me of the day I lost the winning bass in the NJ Bass nation state championship in the youth division because of a mistake I made. Fishing is a sport of triumph and heartbreak.

    No Wheeler, you could have done something about that fish. When a big fish jumps you point the rod down towards the fish to keep constant pressure on the fish so no slack will occur when she jumped, and not stick the rod in the air reaching for the stars. He still may have lost it later but maybe not and he could have caught that bass.

    I know the feeling I lost a 8 to 10lb bass yesterday had him at the boat and tired and he made one last dash and snapped my 17lb pound line .....still can't believe it

    This is the most frustrating video ever

  • @nickcavazos5718

    It's crazy how quickly they're on and then....They're off. One thing I've noticed is they seem to come off more when guys try to bend down, play the fish and grab them at the side of the boat. The guys who keepem coming and swing them have fish come off to but it's usually no big deal bc they're in the boat by the time is happens. It's hard to keep a good rod angle when your bent over the rail trying to grab them.

      @sdc2008 6 лет назад +2

      That's a good point but there are a lot more variables that come into play. Heavy line + single hook it's usually boat flipped. Treble hooked baits, not so much... unless the angler can see that it's hooked good and trust it. A lot of it depends on the fish's actions too, if it's skiing on top of the water and they have the right gear, then they'll swing it. Most guys using spinning gear have 6-8lb leaders in order to get those big bites. Hindsight is always 20/20

      Stephen Collins yeap. It's pretty easy to say watching it happen rather than being in those moments when you NEED THAT FISH in a high pressure situation. For me the biggest thing is getting their momentum coming towards me and then using that to our advantage. But smallmouth are a whole different deal I'm sure. And there is times we can do everything right and they'll come off. Part of what makes bass fishing so exciting.....and rewarding.

    I just hooked into the best bass of my entire life, i have fished a long time but in my state the bass don’t get big at all. I just hooked into an honest 6 pound bass at the pond I started it all at, got way too excited and broke the line trying to flip him to the shore, when I should’ve just lipped him in the water. I can’t get over it.

    I gotta say is that we fisherman lose fish no matter the weight or the size or spices fish were angling for so to those pros fisherman don't be discouraged it's okay because there's Giants waiting to catch guys :).

    Most if these guys deserved to lose those fish. I mean these guys suppose to be pros and they grabing the lines and putting the pole tip in the water. I know I'm no pro but that asking to lose some fish when you do that.

  • @lancetarrancefishing2662

    People need to learn to not grab the line on big fish... it puts a lot of tension on the line and usually leads to snapping the line

    Hahahahahahahahahaha. The best part of these pro tournaments is when tbe fish gets away and allows me to relish in their anguish. It is utterly delicious.

    carry a net so you can release the fish afterwards without a hook stuck in its mouth
