you cannot beat an OLED real TV screen. They will be much brighter and can be used in a lit room compared to a projector. This one doesn't look bright enough . I have a DELL UST 4k Projector that is 5000 LUMENS (the brightness) and this one is 2600 lumens so you can see not that bright
I went with the Awol and projectors in general because I can have it shipped to and from an overseas address. Minor mindset to some, but a big deal for me.
@@alalba2667 Sorry I’m not understanding. There is a user manual on AWOL website and on page 25 there is information Streaming Stick Pocket Setup and page 26 info on doing f doing over air system updates. I didn’t see anything about downloading apps or apk to projector
Shame they have only 3 HDMI ports, competitors have a port extra free because there in built mediaplayer. If it realy wants to replace a tv they have to add 1 or 2 HDMI ports more for the Fire stick/google dongle or other mediaplayers, the second if you wanted to connect a soundbar/surround receiver, a third for the cable/satelite/DVBT receivers, the 4th for a (3D)blue ray player and the last port for a game consols like the PS or a X BOX.
i bought one of these brought it home and immediately i saw a big problem that my not be fixable. the rgb lasers do not converge so the image has a red outline on one side and green on the other. it is extremely annoying and distracting, forget about watching b/w movies. i will have to return it. its a pain since its so heavy. ps the user part of the remote to adjust color or brightness does not work. no matter how much i press it nothing happens
You are the only reviewer that i have seen that has mentioned the distance from the wall and the ceiling mounting option. Bravo.

Did you end up getting the AWOL 2500? I'm deciding this or Epson LS800
It's not a native 4k projector like you said at 8:08! It uses the DMD 0.47 Chip which is a native 1080p Chip and uses pixelshift to 4k.

None of the usts are native 4k i believe. They're all pixel shift but the tech is so good it's not noticeable to the naked eye

I could envision this being used with a rear projection screen to replace green screens in video studios.
My only complaint is it's only 2000 lumens. Which as projectors go is amazing for it's size. It still doesn't stand up to a television.

Ultra short throw (UST) Ambient light rejecting (ALR) screens. AWOL has their own screens that you can purchase w/ their projectors at their website.
