Exactly. I remember being on a course some years ago and this girl said to me "I don't think Steve (another person on the course) likes me, cos he is always taking the piss out of me". I knew Steve quite well and so replied "No, the fact that he takes the time and trouble to take the piss out of you means he likes you. If he didn't like you he would just tell you to fuck off". I mentioned the conversation to Steve later and he said that my comment had been exactly right.

@@bencedukavits6271 It's hard to teach to people outside the UK as we British don't take ourselves too seriously and we are self-deprecating and our sense of humour reflects this. I'd start by learning to take a joke and don't get easily offended by personal attacks. When people insult British people, we usually don't react because we make worse jokes about ourselves or we come back with the classic British one-liner!

I'm 54 and have lived completely on my own for the last 25 years (doesn't mean I haven't had girlfriends, including one that lasted nearly 10 years, just never actually lived with any of them, cos I like my own space). I get on well with the people I work with, am pretty close to members of my immediate family and even have a couple of goddaughters, but I only have a couple of friends that I don't even see that often and that's the way I like it. How would I have the time to respond to you bunch of losers on RUclips if I had too many friends?
This is Jimmy Carr's greatest strength, He's a genius when it comes to improvising witty, clever remarks. No-one quicker than Jimmy. In fact it's 10 times funnier than his actual act.

Not having kids is the greatest decision of my life and I am definitely "at that age", its mind boggling that people can't comprehend that!
If people can't comprehend that then who gives a shit. Be single and free. Having said that, I am "at that age" as well. I would like kids though but I haven't met the right woman. I am quite happy being single but I love the thought of parenthood. A kind of dilemma. Especially as I don't feel I am in a position to raise a kid financially.

I am a single British man with no woman in my life, no kids but I really enjoy my life as I have a fantastic brother, an incredible nephew, friends and my brother's beautiful American Akita called Suki who is the love of my life and my best friend. You don't need to be married or have a girlfriend to be happy, some men love to live there lives for themselves and make themselves number one in their lives. What can you do without kids? Travel the world, spend lots of time with your friends, spend lots of time on your hobbies, buy more stuff and more often etcetc. There's so much you can do. It's weird to me that people actually think you don't have a goal in life and are lonely without kids. With this current overpopulation more people should not get them and instead do something useful for the world. If I had kids I would've never had my experiences that I have now of traveling to South Africa, Namibia etc. I don't have kids now and I sure as hell wont have them when I'm 80.
If you want to try some of the original roasts, try “Foster Brooks roasts Don Rickles”. I grew up watching the Dean Martin roasts, they are classics.

In actual fact Big Narstie isn’t a comedian. He was a British rap/grime artist before entering as a guest on a panel show called ‘Celebrity Juice’ which then got him this show on Channel 4. Jimmy Carr of course is a full time comedian though.
He's just that quick with comments to the crowd at his shows too. Just dont do what I did and sit in the front row... Its weird taking shots and still enjoying the show.
Insults between friends is not taken seriously over here at all. Its banter. I never realised before that Americans aren't as accustomed to it. One of me and my mates closest friends is American and really got upset with us at first before realising it's just the way we have fun with each other. It's more a sign of affection than anything.
