      @@eminkerim7859 I am in no way a hater of Russell but the thing is Bill is a normal human being who lives a life and speaks the way he sees things. Russell is a good-hearted rich folk who just couldn't get to what a human as a human is. As a person growing up killing and eating other living beings, which is something Russell(as a kind hearted-man) wouldn't get, Bill would comprehend what people who are not as fortunate as them would think and feel. Most rich fellows are kind (which is not emphasized enough). I, for example, would kill any animal and eat it without feeling anything but would still not be okay with a human shouting at another human showing no respect. Bill, in this case, has a much broader sense of what being a human is.

      @CaesiusX 4 года назад +21

      I don't think it is necessarily a hard-won wisdom which makes *Bill* stand apart. There's definitely common sense, and lessons learned. But rather it may be his self-awareness. . .his understanding that he _doesn't_ know everything (which he openly admits). He is the true seeker in that respect.

      Somewhat yea, at least definitely in terms of his skill to entertain. I think (like he's reflecting in this) that he's not going to turn out as quite a rage fueled old man. He'll still go there as part of a bit but it won't consume him as it did later on Carlin (who, to be fair, remained hilarious regardless).

      @@hadoken95 I like Carlin, but his standup went beyond healthy cynicism at the end of his life. And I'm against the grain here, but I don't think he was that funny in his last two specials. Definitely well thought out jokes, but they were more grievances without punch lines. They would have been better as written essays, I think--but as stand up specials, it seemed like he was just pouring out the last of his madness against the world. And sadly, it wasn't as funny as people claim--though everything he spoke was 95% true.
      I think Burr has a great shot at being legendary (IMO, he already is) because he still makes me laugh in every single special, despite his descent into human decency and self-love. It's not something you can do when your career is predicated on being "angry on stage," and that's what everyone expects of you. And yet, he's fucking doing it really well without selling out or being fake about it.

      @Abba Century The 18-year-olds might not have skin in the game but are voting on how to spend the tax money which they haven't paid any off. So it goes back to how much freedom and how we as a society raise the kids, I think. If we do not do a better job, how will they know any better and make good decisions? How will they find themselves when they aren't given good guidance at home or in academic settings. If people are on here admitting that we aren't maturing till forty or thirty-five or whatever the age is, why are they having children so young and how are they guiding them? It seems like the blind leading the blind and we then blame society or politicians for what is happening in the country.

    Thoughts and emotions do not coexist.
    Focus on the small sounds that are surrounding you right now.
    Recognize the feeling of your hand against this screen.
    Even though these are all existent sensations,
    we do not live our daily lives lost in thoughts and emotions.
    Using all your five senses,
    concentrate on what is happening in the present moment.
    Stay focused on the present moment

Nice to hear he said a lot of shit he didn't believe and is big enough to own that now. I really like how honest he is about trying not to hurt his loved ones. He's a great role model for ppl who think they have nothing to work on in their own lives. The least we can do is not be jerks to eachother for no reason.

    Its really, really cool to see Bill Burr open up about this stuff. I feel like because comedians make others laugh and feel good, people often forget that its still a form of art. And like most art forms, not only does it require some introspection, but the artists who are most successful, who are the most skilled at their respective art form have the most shit to deal with. Laughing and making jokes about hardships sometimes is used as a coping mechanism, ya know? It's like, "I'm struggling with some shit, but if I can make others laugh about it, is it really so bad?" (I know this is all quite the generalization, not all comedians are thinking like this)

    Not sure whether this is a conversation. Bill said some interesting thing about limits of ethics and about responsibilities and self aware flawed imperfection. Then Russell went on a new age bender once again, needlessly connecting dots between neurology, physics, identity and signs of the universe out of a need for meaningful patterns. It’s like talking to a friend of mine who has lost his marbles but remains active in gathering information; he’s formed his own language. Which is fine, it’s his own right to do so. But it’s also disconnecting. Sure he’s become aware of the fractals of life, good on ya, but the rest of it is reaching. And quite impossible to interact with.
