You can easily customise this design to suit your needs and style. You could change the length, add marabou or ostrich feathers around the hem, join the open seam to create a complete circle, add crystals, make it from a fabric that isn't sheer, use different colours for each tier, there's so many possibilities!

I find when sewing with slippery fabrics if I iron starch into them first they tend to be easier to handle plus they don’t fray as much.
