This is amazing and so timely! I recently moved onto new property and have been overwhelmed by the amount of mowing and weed eating there is to do. I kept thinking, "Surely there is a better way." Yesterday, I was admiring a large area beside a local road that was covered in beautiful wildflowers, but until coming across your video, it didn't dawn on me that I could have my own patches of wildflowers. Thank you, Ed! I don't interact on RUclips much, but please know your videos are extremely wholesome and helpful and a pleasure to watch. I've gained much knowledge from you.
Thank you, Jennifer. I really appreciate your feedback and support. Congratulations on your property purchase. Good luck!
Wow Ed that is going to be a real parade of flowers. Nothing better than a man and his lamb
Also your comment about packing the seed is VERY IMPORTANT, seed to soil contact is the MOST important part of the planting process!!! The implement made for it is a cultipacker that is pulled behind your mule or tractor. I have a 8' one, but keep your eyes open for a smaller one if you desire they are available in all sizes. You can usually find them at farm sales as they are an older type pull implement.
Bob
I had zero interest in wildflowers until 12 minutes ago. Really glad I didn't skip this video because it was very well done. Now I can't wait to see them come up. I love learning new stuff on RUclips thanks Ed!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Thanks Ed. Your videos are getting better and better.
Thank you!
Doesn't seem like 9 months already, Ed. Excellent project...can't wait to see the results in a few months. The place is looking great!
Thanks Chris! Time is going by fast!
This was a really well done video, Ed. Particularly liked a number of your camera shots and use of the drone. Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Larry!
Hello Ed, I must have missed this episode. Donald was telling friends on our live last night about you planting wildflowers so I thought I watch and learn. I bet this will look spectacular when it’s in full bloom, can’t wait to see this. You sure have the cutest little lamb. Enjoyed the video have a great day, lisa
Thanks Lisa! It’s exciting to see them bloom!
That's gonna look real nice Ed. Can't wait to see them come up. Have a great weekend. 👍
Thanks, you too!
Ed, what we use is Milorganite as a filler for planting. It is a mild dried sewage component from Milwaukee Wi that will add a very low fertilizer component. (less that 5%) Bob
Interesting!
That is going to look amazing ED
Thanks Jeff!
How's she goin'? Your lane is going to look awesome Ed. What a neat idea to plant both sides of the lane and then the sun flowers on just one side. Pretty nice. I hope they grow well for ya!! Take 'er easy!!
Fingers crossed! Thanks Mike!
Good Evening Ed, what already 9 months Sir 🥴So nice to see Erman 😇👍 You have an OUTSTANDING Green Thumb Ed and Keep Up Your OUTSTANDING Videos Cheers 👍👍😇🍻
We’ll see about that green thumb soon! 🤣
My land is almost completely covered in natural wildflowers. "No mow may" is in full effect to keep our bees happy.
Very nice!
Yes I deal with them 💯%💥🤠
Excellent!
It is going to looks great, I am looking forward to the update
You and me both!
Good job Ed!! 👍👍👍. Keep us updated with their growth!
Thanks! Will do!
Good evening Ed, that is going to look beautiful along the driveway. Eddie has a little lamb🎵🎶 has been stuck in my head ever since Margaret "sang" it👍 Erma is a sweetie. My wife loves your idea... we may have to plant some wildflowers. Great video Ed, Enjoy your weekend, Ben 🌞🌻🌻🌸🌼
Everywhere that Eddie goes… 🤣
Great ideas, hope you do a follow up video on this! Your flail mower would have been a good push down the seed and flattened it nicely.
Thank you! Stay tuned! 😄👍
Great video, but now my wife has a lot more ideas,( which means work for me)
🤣🤣🤣
That is going to be BEAUTIFUL!
GREAT idea for not mowing also.. 👍🏼
Can't wait!
Your wildflowers are going to look great lining your driveway like that. How many passes with your tiller did it take to prep the ground like that? Love your projects! Looks like your lamb is healing well.
She’s doing great! I usually take 3-4 passes with the tiller. Sometimes I even go back a few days later and hit it again 😄👍
I wasn't aware you were a beekeeper as well. Are you planning on doing any beekeeping episodes?
My sister is the bee keeper. I made one video about a swarm. It’s very interesting. Thanks for watching! ruclips.net/video/jPut7KQOHog/видео.htmlsi=FxCkyVyjWjKADAss
Nice job on the tilling and plant choices. I really liked your camera and drone work in this one. Well done. What do you have mounted on your tractor dash or bonnet?
Thanks Ross! That’s the “Call Haul” phone holder by Saw Haul.
Don't you believe him Ross. That's a tiny little tube television that Ed watches as he works. 📺😉
I understand they’re beautiful and they are but if the flowers are weeds, are you worried they’ll spread like wildfire and grow in places you don’t want them?
I haven’t seen that happen in three past. I believe they are considered annuals, although some go to seed and do pop up the following year.
