I have an '08 CXL Lucerne w/3.8 and regular, not air ride, and has only 32k on it. I would never buy a car with a Northstar engine. Those are just not reliable and expensive to work on. Except for the mediocre mpg's, I love it. All GMs with Lane Departure cameras have issues with the modules. My Buick has had 3 of them die. I'm not replacing it again.
i have 07 CXS V8 with all the options and its freakin amazing
and the northstar is freakin sick
those engines are trash
@@malcomM96 I agree. To make them a good engine you need to completely tear them down and machine the block to accept new head bolts. Northstar Performance is a company that was formed solely to improve the Northstar engines. Without this modification the original bolts would strip out the block if you allowed the slightest amount of coolant to leak out, and they were prone to leaking.
Cadillac DTS at 18:27; I see what they did there ;-).
Yeah I’ve got the Buick Lucerne cxl and my coworkers got a 2005 Cadillac Deville. He’s got those lights on his mirror. I however, do not.
@@ArthurMorgan-pq4tr The mirror just reflects light, so it will only display a Cadillac DTS if one is physically present.
Same cylinders and smaller engine but the Avalon has almost the same power as Lucerne V8 smh
The Buick comes with a better warranty because it's designed to EXPIRE just after it's warranty is past!
Assumptions. 3800 engine averages over 300K milrs
@@bluwng Not without a whole lot of work after 200K. DexCool did nasty things to those engines. Anyone I've ever known had to do lower intake gaskets which got quite expensive given the value of the car when the repair was needed. My 2000 Buick Regal had 240K kilometers (162K mi.) and it was well looked after. When I got rid of it at 240 it was burning oil and coolant with an obvious blue/grey smoke for the first 30 seconds of startup. The GMC Sierra I had afterward also used DexCool but the engine was unaffected by its coolant
Lol, the Avalon is the better car
Toyota is more reliable then Buick.
This car was ass. Whoever has my used one, enjoy the sorrows.
I’ve got the cxl and I think it’s a great car.
@@ArthurMorgan-pq4tr I was considering getting CXL with 68,00 miles just researching…
@@ArthurMorgan-pq4trI agree with you: I think the Lucerne CXL is a great car with a fantastic engine (3800). I love mine!
