    Great fly fishing video showing just how unbelievable the fly fishing in Alaska is for Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char and Dolly Varden can be. Watch this as Peter enjoys just one and a half days of fly fishing on the Wok River while staying at the world-famous Bristol Bay Lodge. Watch him catch more fish than he can handle, listen to him laugh and get excited as he shares with you his passion for fishing. Fly fishing heaven is made in Alaska and is a welcome break from all the Salmon fly fishing. A big thank you to Bristol Bay Lodge and all the guides & support staff for making these trips all possible.

    beautiful video, maybe more Dolly Varden (char) than rainbows. loved the care the guide took in letting the fish gain strength back before releasing. Looked like wonderful day.

      Robert, thanks for your comments, yes it is nice to see so much love, care and attention given to fish. If we all respect them and everyone thinking that they have to take every fish for the table fishing would have a far better future.
      Kind Regards Peter

    I would have more fun if the guide would fish too. Me and a few good buddies used to trout fish the Little Bushkill and Big Bushkill waterways in Northampton Cnty PA. It's always more fun when everyone is yahooing:) That Alaska water is amazing. I would like to go try it out:) Cheers from SC.

    I've been told trout are especially susceptible to parasites which is why people use rubber nets. Is that correct? If so, how does one handle the fish to protect their slimy film?

    Wow. I am heading up there in June. What kind of gear (fly rod and line) do you need? I want to make sure I have what I need to fish for salmon. Right now I have an Orvis 8.5' heliux. Not sure if it is heavy duty enough, but I would love the fight.

    • @SportquestHolidaysDestinations
      @SportquestHolidaysDestinations  9 лет назад +1

      David Deboy David that rod will serve you well, it will be able to handle the flies and also give you a good fight after all thats what it is all about.

    Another great video. Wish one day to travel there, i hear the fishing is of the scale. Do you take care of all the flights, as i have looked before and a bit of a mine field. Would really appreciate some advice. Keep up the good work

      Paul Stevens No problem at all. We run group hosted trips fly fishing in Alaska each and every year. You can join our group trips and fish with like minded people. It is also a great way to make new friends while fly fishing for huge Rainbows, Char and Dolly Varden.

    Alaska state law requires that the bead be pegged no more than 2" from the hook- yours is at least 3.5" which results in fish mortality. What lodge are you fishing with???

    • @spencersingleton1723
      @spencersingleton1723 9 лет назад

      The bead can be pinned within 2" or free sliding. Next time make sure you know what your talking about.

      No worries you are looking with everything included to Bristol bay lodge all flights etc so everything apart from tips you will be around £6,800 expensive but one of the best lodges in the world. Also we have a hosted one to Canada I just returned from thats only around £4,800 pp we had between 400 to 500 salmon so many we just lost count.
