Why "No-Code" is a terrible name

- It's accurate, but the name "No-Code" is causing all kinds of problems. The tools that fall under this term are a huge contribution to the software industry - for both coders and no-coders alike!

Great point! Software engineer here! I see these tools becoming more and powerful every day. What we do with Excel, Zapier, and other no-code tools is programming. I think programming will get better over time because of this, even low-level programming which is now done with coding.

Good argument here, the issue I have with no code tools is that the RUclipsrs target market is the DIY guys, entrepreneur type and not the day to day person who has a JOB. I have yet to find any no code tool for web or mobile developers to make their job easier. Day to day for software engineers, they are debugging code, testing, building features in React for example. Sure there's a code block generator out there, but how well does it play with dependencies my company installed??
Only No-Code solution i've found are apps that generate HTML templates, and I've found it very useful as it just only export the tables with html/css code any email marketing, DIY or day job can implement. Just my thoughts on this No code movement.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think you’re right that the content is skewed toward entrepreneurs. That’s a good challenge for creators to think about how to serve people with a job. Email templates are a cool use case for sure.
@@julian_post Think about the Nokia and Kodak story and you will realize it is far too difficult for those being in the scene to tell you the TRUTH. When you tell people stop learning python but airtable, their response will let you know how sticky is the traditional mentality in peoples' mind!
