I think the funniest thing I found when I first started dating in Vietnam was when I took my now fiancée to a restaurant and she refused to order a nice meal because she thought it was too expensive and didn’t want me to pay that much and also when she tried to warn me about eating too much jack fruit for the first time and I had sores in my mouth for a week….so many other things as well like a Vietnamese woman’s obsession with getting a bargain or her tireless quest for a discount. 🤣🤣🤣 so funny and so beautiful 😍

Wow, that respect is rare in the US. Many of these hogs over here would order the most expensive items and still act like a demanding, spoiled brat afterward. The US used to have good moral foundation and taught children respect, but lately, in the last 30+ years, the leftist garbage school system (feminaziism), music industry and other things have destroyed a once respectful culture in the US. It is like they put a poison in the body (nation) and it is now turned into a cancer, destroying this country from within.
I'm not saying all people are like this, but a larger number exist here than decades ago.

I remember when I was talking to this Vietnamese guy and one day I snapped and got mad. I told him all you ever do is want to talk about food and he said it's because in Vietnam making sure someone is fed/making food for someone shows that you love and ir care for them. Now I think it's so cute.

That dishwasher thing I can definitely relate. Although I'm born and raised in Canada so I have more of a Canadian mentality. I would use a dishwasher as a dishwasher when I had it in certain apartments. My Vietnamese parents bought a really nice dishwasher: it's so quiet that I could slept next to it when it's running. But they don't use the dishwasher, they use it as a pot and pan storage place (and it's not because they have a small home, it's because they have so much stuff that they don't know where to put things).

You forgot to mention that Vietnamese ppl also use the microwave oven for storage. I also saw a couple who stored their buckets, mop, and other such things in the shower recess. So each time before they take a shower, they have to take all that stuff out of there. They didn't have to. They could have kept all that out the back of their place.

I'm in the US and I have a Vietnamese friend (from Vietnam, not just of Vietnamese descent) and, if I'm being completely honest, I like her a lot.
We've not known each other for very long. She's quiet and a bit reserved so I didn't want to be too "forward" but I wanted to show my interest. Since I often bake sweets (my cookies are always requested by friends and co-workers for their birthday) I take samples to her when they're still warm from the oven.
I didn't know about the direct correlation between food and "love" so I guess I've REALLY been telling her how I feel about her all along.

I honestly thought that the main theme of their video was how bossy the girlfriend was. Is that common? Mine's not that way at all. Really just the opposite. So sweet and considerate. (Người em gái nhỏ dịu hiền.) Gentleness is the ultimate in femininity.
Yes, the Vietnamese don't have designated breakfast foods, so I've learned. It was a surprise, and also funny, to learn that they'll eat anything Vietnamese for breakfast, even if it's complex and full of spices. The single funniest thing my gf has as part of her breakfast sometimes though, is just plain hot water. I'm like whaaat?
Sorry, but the "keep it new" thing is just weird. Country folks here in America used to do that, and some probably still do. Makes me a little sad even, because it means they're depriving themselves of the experience of what it actually means to HAVE new things. Tell them, "No YOUUU get to press the buttons. You're GETTING to press the buttons is something more valuable than the thing ITSELF, grrr." On the other hand, I so very much agree with their attitude toward dishwashers. I couldn't face myself if I was ever so lazy as to use a machine to do what my own hands can do in seconds. I've been using my dishwasher as the place you STORE dishes and bowls, cups and glasses, for years. Good job on that.
Naturally hot vid by the way. You're so at ease. On camera, parked all soft and pink in front of a king size bed, yet not acting even the slightest bit tawdry. Vietnamese girls are so awesome. Volcanic.

Ironically, though I'm an Americano-two-or-three-times-a-day kind of guy, my VN gf doesn't like coffee really at all. LOL. That's like an American not liking hot dogs. And yes, VN is good.

Vietnamese Culture and ethics are quite similar to the generation of our parents from my POV and I would not have it any other way.. The current method of dating/courtship in ASEAN countries has evolved over the years, but this has not improved as this has led to many issues in terms of psychological and physical issues. Even though society has progressed, we would need to learn to give and take within a relationship to improve and progress on the relationship. We as the younger generation should learn to respect and adapt to different countries' culture to understand your partner and their culture better if you really love him/her.

In Serbia, we've always eaten ketchup with pizza, mayonnaise occasionally as well. My mother can even make a decent base with ketchup instead of tomato sauce.

Herb oil, no sandals inside your house, plastic wrap remote, reuse boxes for spices, back rub using coin & herb oil to cure, ketchup & chili sauce on top of pizza.. same here Van.

Nguyễn is very popular last name and Buddhist is a very popular religion in Vietnam.
So when she says “Phật” and “mô Phật”, make sure you know that are Vietnamese, not English to avoid legal problem.
Have fun and enjoy your time in Vietnam.

    Re : fixing a cold .
A couple of times that I had a really bad cold (Maybe flu) when my body even felt weak , I would go to a Korean restaurant for dinner , and have an early night . Next afternoon I would feel much improved . I put it down to kimchee . I'm not joking . Try it .
