      I have a 1660 super and i5 10400f any idea why all my games run so bad

  • @stephendippenaar9986
    @stephendippenaar9986 Месяц назад +1

    This idea anything above 60fps is better, 60fps is the recommended optimal fps to be competitive the extra fps wont matter much and capping a game at 60fps will be smoother and have less stutters

    • @OverseerPC-Hardware
      @OverseerPC-Hardware  Месяц назад

      Personally on Single player games, 60fps is definitely all I need.. I even enable motion blur for added immersion.
      However, 60fps on a competitive game is a serious disadvantage. You might as well throw the game if you're competing on those frames.

      @@OverseerPC-Hardware Ah a fellow motion blur user. It def adds a lot to immersion, I wish people would stop hating on it as if it was the incarnation of evil. I'm talking strictly about single player games here, I understand that on PvP games it could give the opposition an advantage.

    The 1660 Super and the 1660 Ti are still good 1080P cards in 2024.

    Thanks for making this video. I'm about to do a deal to get a 1660 Super as a backup card to my 3060 ti. Now I really don't want my current card to puke but I was curious what kind of performance I could expect from this card if I inevitably had to use it & this video came in clutch. Obviously my PC is a little different spec-wise than yours but still gives me a rough idea. Also I plan on upgrading my whole PC sometime next year so as long as I can still game until then I'm good. I'm aiming for a AMD 7700 CPU /7900 GRE GPU but that could change by then. Thanks again. :)

      Bro, when I downgraded to a GTX 1660 Super during those mining boom.. it was at that moment I realised how much I missed the card I panic-sold (after the RTX 3080 announcement).
      That's a good build plan bro. Prices should be decent by then, maybe 7800X3D will be cheaper with 9800X3D coming out. 👍

    Nice comparisson with the 4060. As a 1660S user that plays with comp settings in most games, it served me well if the upgrade would be worth it. Solid vid, subscribed.

      For single player games, yes that's fine.. for competitive gaming, it's lacking.

  • @PTSDexplosion

    The thing is that the 1660 super is the "last" 1080p card (along with the 2060); everything after that was pretty much just augmenting performance at 1080p (which is fairly unnoticeable considering anything above 60-100 fps is just a number on a screen) or graphic quality at 1440p, which is irrelevant for most people. GPU progress in technology has gone stale, everything now is just trying to improve performance at 1440p or 2160p, which are absurd resolutions in which you can't really notice that drastic of a difference. The manufacturers simply don't know what to come up with next, so to keep the market active they make you believe you need the latest card (if you want to play at higher res than 1080p), when, really, the technology plateaued 4-5 years ago.

    show games that actually stress the gpu. you showed games which are mostly competitive and they are mostly bottlenecked by the cpu and not even push the cards to their limits. to show the actual performance of the cards show games which are more gpu heavy like cp2077, alan wake 2, horizon forbidden west, etc. this is not a good comparison.

      You have a lot of YT channels already doing that, and those single player games rarely update.. so whatever you see on others is most likely the same months later.
      On the other hand, I focus mostly on competitive live service games, which do update very often (inadvertently changing hardware performance at times). And I actually play these games hence why frametime stability is very important to me. 👍
