There is one thing about Chris tasting these dishes I don't understand: It's great that he tears it apart to figure out each ingredient if possible, but he should, without a doubt, have a mouthful of the dish
Yes. I've always thought this. I wouldn't do it until the end. But he should taste it all at once to get overall flavors. In this video hey may have figured out the lemon, for example. And probably been able to tell for sure it was egg yolk.

It drives me CRAZY that he never tastes the entire thing all together. I understand picking it a part one piece at a time but I still think you need to get an overall bite as well!
I feel like that's why he often loses points in the spice/sauce/herb/acid area - he's so focused on finding the big chunks of stuff he misses out on the subtleties of, in this case, all the weird things that were put together in the sauce.
i feel that he probably does and it's not separately shown because he wasn't picking out specific ingredients

I would love to see Chris do a VS challenge with Andy or Brad. To see who can recreate the dish the best (same process of this show though). I would also love to see Chris being challenged to make one of his friend’s dishes!!

Everyone loves Rhoda - Chris has so much more rapport with her than some of the other past judges, and she does a great job interacting with him and coaching him through how the dish was created.

Chris’s biggest pitfall is forgetting that most recipes in recipe books he uses take into consideration ingredients available in the boring grocery stores we have in the not New York parts of the world

Well considering this has nothing to do with Carbonara Italians are fine with it. They'd already commit not living once they see this recipe being called "Carbonara".
Supposedly, pasta is a derivative of noodles, so it's not as sacrilegious as eating rice with a fork.

I’m not going to lie. I’m feeling slightly better about my sub par culinary skills now knowing I’m better at breaking down king crab legs than Chris. It’s the small victories.

Honestly, I saw that this was 24 minutes long and I audibly sighed and said no way, and then the video was over. Great stuff.
I officially declare that bon appetite left its golden age when the majority of the cast and crew left. It feels like a shell of its former self. It’s still okay, but it’s lost what made it great and that was the people and their personalities. Only if we weren’t in the darkest time line.
