32:30 ""Memes, The DNA of the soul." Look on the bright side, at least he didn't say *"Mr. Electric, send him to the principal’s office and have him EXPELLED!!"* He even acts like someone who would say that.
@Mr.Jim248 Was not expecting a Shark Boy and Lava Girl reference. Seeing a review of that film, the kid playing Linus/Minus looked like one of those great ham actors in the making.
Fun fact, if you force Kempf to leave early, you can avoid the trap. However, in doing so, you can't get Fred as you need to trigger the trap for him to turn green. Basically, it's impossible to get Fred while avoiding the trap. Kempf's plan is too perfect
The interactions in this chapter and the whole mini Friege arc is pretty fun. Even with how Kempf may or may not really matter in the big picture, and his "fight" in this chapter after all that buildup, somehow he still stands out for many reasons in a cast of otherwise more generic bosses. I like how even Leif and Fred get to talk trash about their situation. I was hoping you would show the quirk of this chapter and the next one, I remember seeing it mentioned on reddit and the wiki and it's kind of interesting attention to detail that you have to go out of your way for. Nice to see you manage capturing the door keys here, and also actually making use of antitoxins twice in a chapter. This is a surprisingly magic Nanna indeed, but it's already paying off with the Earth Sword OHKOs. 27:40 Rage in Gen 2 was actually better already, Totodile was actually a relevant user of it in the earlygame. I appreciate that Gen 2 immediately polished up a lot of those Gen 1 mechanics that did not really seem made for PVP (freeze, sleep, binding moves). 32:32 A subtle thing about "In America" that isn't mentioned much is that in the actual gameplay, you do only see the first part of the sentence before having to press A to progress the dialogue. Then "In America" shows up, but the dialogue automatically scrolls past it without pausing. The lparchive LP didn't show it probably for this reason. 35:33 The door command being vague next to two doors is interesting. 39:50 Brighton actually had 1 dodge with his 3 luck thanks to the halved formula compared to usual. Luck is actually kind of a notable weak point for several units facing crit in that way.
I only found out about it while researching for this playthrough and felt I had to show it off. 27:40 Meanwhile in HG/SS Cyndaquil is the optimal starter for speedruns since Rage got nerfed and Blaze exists. 32:32 That's good to know. Maybe it was meant to be a quick easter-egg? 39:50 Oh right, that explains why I read somewhere "make sure those in ballista range have luck double the ballista's Skill". Luck in Thracia is interesting, it influences Dodge less than normal, but Avoid more than normal.
Here some food for thought: The game's title, referring to the year which it takes place, makes a lot of sense if considered an Allegory for the historical year 1776: the year in which The United States declared independence from its parent nation, leading up to The American Revolution a year later. In Jugdral's own 776, the Manster Peninsula is fighting for independence from its own empire, the titular Thracia. Suddenly, "In America!" makes a lot more sense.
Okay i will buy a fire emblem game instant if it this Making ether paladin or great knight look similar to winged Hussar thay poland had Or we have a fire emblem land that basically USA aka a republic with so many fire tomes and bows that even the commoner has 5 of them
26:19 Or Febail with Chulainn as a father in FE4. Dude gets 175% HP growth! 36:04 The annoying thing about this chapter - there's surprisingly few units who can survive 2 ballista shots. 39:49 Luck only gives 1/2 Dodge in this game (rounded down), so still a 2% crit on Brighton :( 54:08 Clearly Kempf used his trap card, Compulsory Evacuation Device, to return to Friege's hand. 55:44 Is what I'm thinking is about to happen, going to happen? That makes so much sense even though I never even considered it. Bravo, Kaga.
YOU HAVE FELL IN MY TRAP, IN AMERICA!!!!!!!!! FINALLY WE GOT TO THE LEGENDARY MEME!!!!!🙏🙏🙏 kempf is just a funny villian, i also rlly love this chapter gameplay wise!! Its also fun to keep fred alive and of course, the meme is so legendary that it cracks me up all the time, Kempf is such a legend for that
21:54 the way I always remember that Rapiers are effective against armors is since a Rapier is primarily a thrusting weapon most sword fighters are going to try and thrust the blade in the gaps of the armor, granted most swords could probably do the same but a Rapier being a one handed sword has an easier time hitting those gaps, as far why it's effective against mounted units well I feel like it's easier to stab a horse charging towards you then slashing it (but that still sounds terrifying to see coming especially when the person riding said horse has a spear, sword, or axe)
@@BigKlingy I also use that logic for hammers, no matter how strong your armor is getting hit in the head with front weighted object like a hammer is gonna rattle your head at best or crush the helmet and possible crack your skull at worse. Though some irl war hammers usually had spikes which could punch through armor but as far as I can remember only FE 9 and 10's hammer looked like that in the 3D model and I can't remember off the top of my head if the gba menu sprite of the Hammer had spikes on it.
Happy 2nd Anniversary to Engage! Also a Metaphor Refantazio Manga is out! And it’s snowing. 0:15 oof. Hope you’re ok. Edit: Never remind me of Whitney.
Fun fact-you can get the Thunder Sword up to three times. The first is in Nowell Valley, and the second one is here. All you need is Lifis with sufficient Con (about 10, I think, so use the scroll!), and you can steal it from Fred in both chapters. The third Thunder Sword is in 11x, with Fred bringing it with him as he joins your party.
Another chapter with lots of interesting tidbits to cover. But hey, at least you took care of the capture oddity. That's a rare one to see on video! First, the cracked walls. I do also think they were initially intended to be breakable, since the same tiles can be destroyed by enemies in later chapters. You'd think they're the same as every impassable wall tile, but they actually are their own unique terrain, despite sharing the same terrain name ("--"). Not that it has anything to do with their ability to break: the code for breaking walls is just a basic chapter event that goes "if enemy stand there, change the tile to something else". And those events just aren't there for ch11. Second, this is I think the first chapter in FE5 that can freeze the game. I can't recall the specifics (and I can't seem to get it to work myself), but it has to do with a unit carrying someone else and getting forcefully moved by the doors closing. This would leave the rescuee's location on the door while the rescuer is elsewhere, at which point dropping the unit freezes the game. Whew. Third, a fun hidden strat you can do to greatly reduce the ballista threat: you can fly around the left side of the fort! So Karin can park herself next to the left ballista and pelt it with javelins, while being out of reach of the other. It's already much less tight in there with one less ballista... though you do need a reasonably trained Karin. Those ballistae are quite tanky, and Javelins have low Might... Finally, and this is more translation history trivia, but around the end of Project Exile's development, we had the chance to spend some time chatting with Shaya, the author of the previous patch. So we learned a lot about the iconic America line. There's a lot of talk about how it was put there to make sure "playtesters were paying attention", but as far as he told us, it was just a little reference to a show that meant a lot to him. It was going to be "In Thracia!" initially, but someone was like, nah, they won't get it. He also wanted to have a random guard respond that no, this isn't America, but it was removed for lack of space. Just like Saias's "FIRE OF JUSTICE" line, they were only part of the beta versions and weren't meant to stay. Because yeah, the Shaya patch was never completed. His computer died and took the compiler and scripts with it. Also there was a "Screw the rules" in one of the first patches.
Advance warning: I might've exposed a bug in Lil Manster because I'm pretty sure Fred ended up somewhere he wasn't supposed to. I love it when two things have the same name and stats but are actually different. But yeah, I wonder what the intent was with these, maybe Fred told you to break the walls to escape the trap? But normally only enemies break walls in Thracia, and it doesn't make sense for Kempf's forces to break their own "impregnable" fort. I've had others tell me that, the issue is my Karin can't use Javelins yet. Wow, that's great you were able to talk to Shaya about that line! I'm not aware of the FIRE OF JUSTICE line and... okay, it makes so much sense that all those silly lines were supposed to be only in the beta... but the patch was unfinished so the beta was all we got. Thanks for the info.
27:39 in Gen1 Rage was at it's worse since one selected the Pokémon couldn't do anything else unless it faints or the battle ends (and I believe in Red and Blue it can lead to a softlock against Lorilei's Dewgong if you use Rage with Mankey/Primeape) in Gen 2 Rage is debatably at it's best since you start a Rage Counter on the first hit and as long as you keep clicking Rage it will do amazing damage early with Totodile or Dunsparce, in Gen 3 the Rage Counter is gone and you gain a normal attack boost...but for the life of me I don't remember any Pokémon in RSE or FRLG that gets Rage early game that really needs it since you have moves like Leer or Tail Whip or Howl for some Pokémon. In Gen 4 is when that fun glitch was discovered that causes a transformed Pokémon to no longer be considered transformed and let's the Pokémon retains its transformed moveset after battle. (I think Mimic is another way to do the glitch since that's how people got Flare Blitz on Flareon back in HGSS)
27:39 iirc the only way to break that softlock is to have Rage 1/256 miss for ALL its PP, and Lorelei's Dewgong got custom AI in Yellow specifically to break the softlock.
@@BigKlingy Definitely makes me glad I started with Yellow cause I'm sure all the gen 1 "magic" of Red and Blue would've annoyed me as a kid, though now as an adult I find fun in taken advantage of Gen 1's quirks
0:13 As in, lightning literally struck twice? 0:40 Hey look! It's the funny meme man! 3:03 Which is ironic, considering that he's so pathetic and ineffectual, you'd think he'd be crying out for his mommy. 5:56 Fun fact, same VA as Makoto Kagutsuchi in Rain Code. 8:08 Damn, that sucks. 10:36 He really would. Although, I would want 4 and/or 6 to get remakes first. 11:35 How suspicious. 13:26 Wait, that's a place that exists? That's cool! 14:12 Oh right, "that"! 16:50 It was at this moment that he knew: he f*cked up. 17:09 Roll for Deception with disadvantage. 24:13 Movement Star Count: 51 26:05 Oh s*it, a +2 to HP. 32:08 Yay! It's the funny meme line, but with a better, more accurate translation! 43:49 ...Is that a vacuum I hear in the background? 47:59 Yay... 48:54 Movement Star Count: 52 54:07 Brave Sir Robin ran away! 54:57 Bye Brighton...
5:50. Whenever I hear this line from Kempf my go-to response is "You want the full list or just the highlights?" 7:43. Ah, I see Jugdral isn;t exempt for the age-old practice of Nepotism.
@@bradleyharris774 5:50 Which is also my reaction to Eggman's line if Sonic hits him in Team Sonic Racing. "What did I ever do to you?" 7:43 I feel it's decently common in all these games.
Good to see you back! In the time since the last video, I actually managed to get to the start of the 9th month of Metaphor before I decided to take a break (those who've played the game probably know why). 5:28 I don't know WHY, but for some reason this guy reminds me of Gilbert. 54:08 ...I think I can kinda see where that feeling of mine came from.
Glad everything about the storm is doing better! Except the whole tree-in-the-roof bit but hey, could be worse! 0:11 _His arrival has been foretold._ 3:48 I kind of see this as another reason to Marty Party, especially if Dagdar's fatigued on an indoor map. 8:29 _(crowd cheering)_ 9:30 I like to imagine the unit dismounts, tells their mount to stay, then walks in. When the rider is outdoors again, the mount is inexplicably waiting outside the exit they come from. ANY exit. 18:06 Yeah, Nanna's magic growth is pretty much always low. The highest personal growth in it she can have in FE4 is 20% if Lewyn is her father. Claud gives her 25% because of the 10% bonus from his holy blood. If Azelle is her father it becomes 40% due to Fjalar blood giving 30% + personal 10%. Regardless, every other father in the game (except Dew) gives her either 5% or 7%. Given her implied preference to magical damage, it's really funny imo. Especially when her personal Strength growth is better, with the lowest personal growth in it being 25% from the magic fathers (this becomes 55% due to her minor Hodr blood). Everyone else gives her between 35% and 45% personal depending on the father. Again, her holy blood gives 30% to that strength growth (effectively 65-75%), but still. TL;DR: Nanna's Magic growth in FE4 is in the _single digits_ unless her father is a magic user. For reference, Arthur with Lex for a father still has a 15% growth (which is terrible, but at least it's double digits). Given she seems to prefer staves and magic swords despite this I find it hilarious. 19:05 I finished playing FE4 recently, some parts of maps have this same problem and I'm getting flashbacks to the end of Chapter 1, where you recruit Jamke and Deirdre. 28:00 That is a certified 1RN moment. Idk if this is a hot take, but I sort of prefer it over 2RN (True Hit) just because it can be REALLY funny sometimes. 32:06 *_(crowd cheering intensifies)_* 32:40 I think the reason for that was either an instance of the writer putting in an out-of-place line to ensure the proofreaders were actually reading, and/or because the event related to that wouldn't work without something there (a minor coconut.jpg situation is my guess)? Not 100% sure. 34:34 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is possible to kill those ballistae (albeit not with your current lineup of units) while you're still locked in that area. If you somehow got Asbel's Thunder or Fire rank high enough to use Meteor or Bolting, or by using a longbow that an enemy had in an earlier chapter (I think it was Dagdar's Manor?). 55:49 Leif about ten minutes after seizing the throne: "I feel like I'm forgetting something... August: "If you forgot, then it was nothing important." Leif: "Yeah, I guess you're right." (cut to Brighton) So my Nanna tangent led me down a rabbit hole into comparing her growths in FE4 to FE5. They're... actually pretty different from her average personal growths in FE4 (I took all her growth rates by father, excluded all holy blood bonuses from both parents, and averaged them out). Her HP is way lower, averaging at about 75% in FE4 (this is closer to the 90s/early hundreds because holy blood). Her Strength is also lower with FE4's ~35% average. I took her average Magic and Resistance growths and took the average of that (take a shot every time I say "average"). In the end, I got about 11%. Nanna's Magic growth in FE5 is actually pretty close when combining Mag and Res. Her Skill is kinda close averaging at 25% in FE4. Her Speed and Luck growths are the closest to FE4's, with the majority of fathers giving those numbers. Her defense is actually WAY off, with her average growth in FE4 being around 35%. Overall, Nanna's FE5 growth rates are like 50% accurate to her personal growth rates in FE4. HP, Str, and Def are all much lower while everything else reflects her growth rates in FE4 pretty well. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
@ 0:11 By Dire Thunder. Only one man can do so much damage with it… 34:34 Wait, a javelin? I thought those ballisticians were 3 spaces away from anywhere that can reach them without doors.
6:22 At least he knows that calling it impregnable is a bad idea. 32:30 So that's where it's from. I remember people posting the line when Kempf got into Heroes and just being confused. 35:03 Poor Fred, afflicted with NPCitis just when we needed him most. Hopefully he gets over it soon. 53:48 Mage Knight sprites look pretty cool generally, I find.
32:28- And now time to release a stupid idea I've had in my mind for way too long... Kempf: The idiots have fallen right into my trap! IN AMERICA! *The scene suddenly becomes like the "Living in America" scene from Rocky IV with all of the over top theatrics, James Brown somehow being in the fort to sing the song, and Kempf coming down off a platform in the same fashion and with the US themed stuff that Apollo was wearing on top of normal outfit. Meanwhile Leif and Fred take the role of Drago in this scene, except both are even more utterly befuddled about wtf is going on than Drago was.* Leif & Fred: What the fu- *Both get hit by ballistae bolts and scramble about to survive as chaos ensues* Kempf: Another win for America! One of the Mages next to Kempf: Sir, can you please tell us what an America even is? Kempf: America is America! Don't you dare question me or you'll be thrown into the ballisate's kill zones! Mage: Yes sir... Sorry sir. Kempf: (They can never know that I don't know what an America is...) I've had this idea in my head for too long; It is now everyone's issue now it's released from my mind. lmao
@@BigKlingy I wish I learned more about Gallipoli in school when I was growing up, but if you completely hard focus on the United States, that sadly results in Gallipoli being mentioned in passing at most.
Oh your back. Suck that lighting hit your house. What better way to get back at lighting than the people with lighting motif . Also, we are trapped in DUMBDUMB, AMERICA!!
Maybe for future runs, but warping someone to kill one of the ballistas is great for keeping Fred alive. Fred won’t be able to be killed by an unlucky string of RNG and one less ballista for you to deal with. Really helped in my run
Also it just occurred to me, I know it's for gameplay reasons but how is a door key one use but a chest key isn't? Does the door just eat the key? Is a door lock so strong that it breaks every key that's used? Are door key so poorly made that they snap in one use?
My first playthrough I remember this chapter not being too hard. My recent 2nd one I had so much trouble and didn’t understand why. Only to watch this video and realize that since I skipped the cutscenes I had forgotten that unlocking the southern doors lets Fred escape, rather than pray the ballista are merciful.
Reminds me of Chapter 9. I've NEVER had trouble with it usually, except now... On my test run I must've forgotten to unlock the south doors and skimmed the dialogue because I had to pray he kept dodging.
Objectively funny that Kempf most “iconic” line a reference to a web series that most people probably don’t know. Makes me feel old. Man… Yugioh the abridged series shaped my sense of humor(meta self deprecation which would explain why I like the marvel characters Deadpool) However newer patches have a newer line “Stupid bitch” idk if that’s in this one.
Speaking of which, me and my brother have been rewatching orginal yu gi oh with the 4kids dub. Man looking back, it quite insane for something that based for all ages card game. Seriously, i think the fandub/abrigred most likely has less insanity
0:09 I hope everyone and everything is okay. 2:27 Neither can I. 5:22 I've been thinking about that. I think Largo's Release line is what he's "expected" to say, and his conversation with Olwen displayed his actual feelings. 5:45 Why? Also, he has an unfortunate name, but I'm not going to draw attention to why that is. 6:42 Headcanon accepted. 7:05 Sounds plausible. 7:45 "And you're lucky one of your own guards doesn't stab you in the back." 10:06 But also, everyone in this fort wants to do the same thing... 15:10 I take it this is Murder Hollace? 16:56 As long as you can complete the chapter, it doesn't really matter. 19:34 I think it actually is just called Thundercloud. 20:55 If only they were all that generous... 32:25 Ah, it IS "Murder Hollace in America!" 47:18 Technically speaking, he didn't retreat--you have to move backwards to do that. He just "forgot" to charge at us instead. 47:51 Oof. 54:34 Oy vey... 54:52 You were a worthy sacrifice for sidequests! Farewell Brighton!
One notable thing about this map is that if any of your units get captured in this map and the enemy runs away with them, you will be able to rescue them in the following gaiden.
32:04 - 32:48 / Goddamn it Kempf... Never gets old. (Shameful he'll not last given his grudge towards Reinhardt & his sister to take advantage of this.. treachery.. but at least he has his moment with the line being.. memorable meme we have seen & heard.. Well in Heroes, never has he changed but he won't lend a hand still & says it in his mouth as a tool.)
Oh my god, you played that clip of Kempf in Heroes and I was like "he sounds familiar" so I checked and he has the same English VA as Makoto Kagutsuchi from Rain Code. (Also I still can't believe people like Kempf got into Heroes before my guy Kieran. Where is my boy, Nintendo. Where is he.)
@@NocturnalDecay Kieran would be so fun in Heroes. Also Sumia with only one alt. But WOW, this guy's also Makoto Kagitsuchi? Are you sure you don't mean Yomi Hellsmile because iirc he sounds more similar to Kempf?
@@BigKlingy Yomi is voiced by Howard Wang, who does voice Pelleas in Heroes, but Kempf and Makoto (and Kurthnaga apparently) are voiced by Brandon Winckler.
Fort drums in Amer- oh wait wrong translation patch. 0:10 Damn, Olwen wanted to fight so hard she escaped the game to Dire Thunder the player. Thankfully she missed. 1:04 Must be a pain to open and close these doors over and over just to move through the fort. 2:19 Discount Mage Fighter (that class was so cool...) 4:32 Oh, it's not Callion prf. Aw. 5:34 The smugness fits with his portrait. 8:53 Damn, the cutscene capture of going on top of another unit. Imagine if we could do that. 9:24 It appears not even cutscene powers can ignore mounted units needing to dismount in buildings. 11:32 I guess they just have a button to open and close all the doors at will. Fair enough. 12:56 He becomes immune to being taken by another unit. For better or worse. 13:41 Ignore the player listening into this conversation right this instant, they can't inform Leif of our very smart trap. 14:48 You're training exactly 0 archers, in fight (well okay, half an archer in Dagdar) 18:52 *dingdingdingdingdingding* Gastly gained a bunch of levels! 21:12 Wait there's a Rescue staff somewhere? 26:04 Two?! 27:32 Recently had to look at what Rage did and uh, it's something all right. Went from a move you were forced to spam to one you were encouraged to spam. From raising Attack by one stage when hit to having its own counter and then back to just raising Attack. And then from gen 8 onwards, erased. 31:36 Release the armor knight into the wall! 32:11 No America joke found here. 32:44 Can't have a unit keep the door open, sadly. 36:00 Huddling around Nanna is always a good strategy. 37:33 She's almost like a normal Troubadour. 47:30 Uh, wrong forgetable cavalier there. 50:39 Hm? 51:52 Rip Vouge, we'll get it back in a moment. 54:06 Dude, don't Rewarp, that doesn't exist in this game. 55:00 I mean, not that you're wrong...
27:44, no that would be a Gen1 thing only, Gen1 Rage was strange. From Gen2 onwards it worked normally until it got axed from existence, wasn't that big of a loss, unlike Return/Frustration, Pursuit, Jump Kick or Signal Beam. Seriously what the hell was GameFreak thinking by axing those moves, Hidden Power being gutted to Unknown's move was dumb but understandable, those on there other hand don't. Unless you consider the dumb choice to merge friendship and affection. Pursuit's removal in particular broke the Ghost type so much.
@@BigKlingy However it was the only truly good physical normal type move, yes it was stronger than Stone Edge with perfect accuracy, but Normal can't hit anything for Super-Effective damage. The next best option is Double-Edge, which has recoil and Body Slam, which isn't the god-tier move it once was in Gen1. Stoutland got screwed over hard by this in particular.
Time for the great battle against Bandit Kempf and his unbeatable strategy… doors! Kempf definitely has a very punchable face and personality, I’ll give him that. Makes him quite the entertaining villain. 13:54 Everyone needs a quirk, I guess? And with one reference, Kempf became American, to the western fanbase at least. Welp, bye Brighton. See you whenever. In other news, I finished up the main story of Sonic Frontiers, with every Island fully completed. I also started Final Horizon, but I’m not that far into it, haven’t even gotten to play as Tails yet.
I usually bring Lithis up-north so I don't have to use Door Keys. You can have him unlock the first door, then rescue him so he doesn't get ballista'd to death. In fact, I don't even unlock the bottom doors; I leave people to distract the ballista so they don't target Fred, then rush my ass to seize the throne.
0:20- Hope that everything with that is getting closer to being resolved if you're uploading again. 1:29- Honestly I could see a remake making them into breakable walls. That said, I think they're just for decoration here. 3:03- lol Never noticed that before. Though whenever I hear an acronym that is DAD, my mind will always go to Dark Armed Dragon from Yugioh. 5:56- Yeah you used those lines from FEH. Again, it's hilarious how well Kempf's hatred for Reinhardt aged and transferred into FEH. 8:30- While I vastly prefer having an accurate translation here, I do like the old translation of Kempf going "What are you going to do, kill me you stupid b^^^h?" since I love the one post that has that screen shot and then cuts to the one news report that goes "'What are you going to do stab me,' said victim before being stabbed." lol 9:23- And know we've got to seen Kempf, this leads me into one of Thracia's greatest strengths; Its minor villain cast. While this game struggles with its main villains for either being MIA (Raydrik) or bland with one cool moment (Veld), Thracia EASILY has the best minor villains cast. Sure you still got some generic filler bosses and even some that don't speak at all like we saw in Chapters 5 and 10, but when Thracia wants to give you some good characterization for its minor bosses, it excels. Kempf's easily the poster boy of this as he's a perfect love to hate villain, but there's so many other minor bosses that also stick out in my mind from this game as well. One of my bigger disappoints in some of the newer FEs is the lack of good minor bosses and Thracia's a major reason why it's a problem since when you flesh out or give players great minor villains, it can REALLY help to strengthen the game. While I'm not sure if we'll ever get a FE game with as many great minor villains like Thracia, but I hope the next FE game at least takes some notes from this one. 10:52- I wouldn't say wasted, but there is an odd decision with him that makes you wonder some things. We'll see that much later. 13:49- To be fair, outside of the player being able to get information our characters can't hear, I do like how that line addresses the later issue some people have with enemy commanders in later FEs blurting out their plans. I do like how in-universe here an enemy commander is actually trying to not be obvious with his plans. 15:58- Once again, I've been desensitized to the 1% miss rate. Sure it sucks and is sacky when it happens, but again, my prolonged exposure to Battle Brothers and it's min/max hit rates of 5% and 95% make the 1% miss/hit look like nothing. (On that note, love the tip on the loading screen of that game that says "Remember, a 95% hit rate is the same as a 5% chance to miss." 21:25- Alternatively, couldn't you just have others rush in while Leif stays away from the center, get into the throne room, force Kempf to run (as he bails after one round of combat), and then have Leif reach the throne since if Kempf leaves the plan shouldn't trigger? 26:10- Didn't think I'd see a +2 from a level up in a Kaga era FE game outside of Ced's speed growth his Lewyn as his father. 32:27- While very unprofessional, I'd be a damn liar if I said I hated the 32:28- And now I shall release something [in a separate comment] that I thought of for a long time for this chapter. No regrets. lol 32:38- "America doesn't exist in the Fire Emblem Universe." - BigKlingy 2025. 47:23- Isn't there also a 30 turn time limit for that unlocking map though? Don't you need to still worry about that? 54:58- I know what you're doing for demonstrative purposes, but even so poor Brighton. In other news, a lot since last time, but YT's being annoying so let me fix that with a split...
First up is with Advance Wars Reboot Camp. Since last time, all of Normal Mode for AW1 has been completed, including Rivals. I did steal Klingy's tactic of rushing down the center airport as well as rushing for fighters, but after that opening idea, did the rest of the map on my own and got a 300 score thankfully. Think I barely missed S Rank when I did OG AW, so nice to have that finally done. The AW1 half was fun, though admittedly I'm not looking forward to doing its Hard Mode, especially due to the new way to get Rivals and all the missions I'll need to replay. But that's for a later day, onto the AW2 half we're it's halfway done as well with both Orange Star and Blue Moon fully liberated. Did the first mission of Gold Comet, but now need to steel myself before doing Showstopper. I'll get back to AW2 later today since it's been a few since I last played it. Why? Well... Finished up the Witch Hunter: A Battle Brothers novel recently. Good book. Despite some minor issues on how some stuff got resolved, really liked the book overall. Can't recommend it to everyone as it's both most enjoyed by Battle Brother players and not for the faint of heart. Recently learned that Battle Brothers is only Rated T, which is quite a shock to me, but in hindsight it does when you read the book and see what happens if this game didn't have that rating since man is it a lot darker and more messed up than the game, especially at the book's first and last hundred pages. If you can stomach that stuff that happens there, then you can probably get through the book. Even so, really like the book and can't wait to get the other two books. But since I finished that book, guess what addiction came back to my mind? Yep, more Battle Brothers and we continue the saga of the Lost Sons. After the holy war, the Lost Sons continued to do some odd jobs here and there, but never really made up enough crowns to progress the group. As a result, we headed out into the Wilds to follow a map our thief stole from a merchant eons back. The map lead to the Palace Below, a name I won't forget given how brutal the fight was as there was at least a dozen or so Ancient Pikemen that made the fight hell, out numbered 12 to 26, and worse an ancient priest, one of my least favorite enemies to face. After several save scum attempts, we won, but not without losing the man who got us the map in the first place. Lost a Lost Sons Veteran that day. We did get a Famed Bow and lots of crowns, but not enough to really even out the lose of that guy, especially when most of the money went to getting a new recruit, an Oathtaker, to fill in his gap. In general, exploring the wilds this time didn't go well, with us needing to even drop an ambition (which the men were upset about for five seconds) to take up a new one for another endgame crisis; The Undead Invasion. Looks like the Green Units didn't beat up enough undead, so it falls to the Lost Sons to do that now. First was a mission to defend Allersdorf, a place I'm only naming since it's the same damn town I defended twice back during the Holy War (and spoiler alert, I defended it TWICE here too). Got some help from the local militia and unlike with the Green Units, I did try to keep them alive, which paid off as more came in later fights with them being meat shields, especially the last fight where... *Attempted Recreation* "What's an 'Anko?' Wait it doesn't say an amount, so the s there is a part of the name. Anakos. Wait that's a Champion?! FU-" So as it turns out, when I hired the Bounty Hunter retinue as the Bow made Famed/Named Item Number Three (got a Named Helmet and Armor earlier), which makes enemy champions (and thus more loot chances for Famed/Named Gear), which turns out to include non-human enemies, making Anakos pop up here. On top of that, he had an entire company of Ancient Honor Guard, the strongest of the skeletons, and learned to fear them more when many of them came with weapons with two range AoEs, hence why the militia meat shields were welcomed. After that hellish fight and getting a Famed Clever from their champion, moved to the Lost Sons' former enemy/house to do some jobs for them too where I helped with defending a town of their's too, but also went on a quest to find them an artifact to potentially help end the crisis, which ended up being my highest paying contract. To give you an idea, a typical high paying contract I usually see is like 1.8-2K Crowns; The advance payment alone was 1.8K. The rest of the contract paid out like 7.9K Crowns. So you'd think for a contract like that, this would be the hardest mission of all time with an epic final battle to get that artifact back... After a fairly tricky, but manageable fight at the location after a couple days or walking and then walking back with it... Nothing surprising happened. Got our money and even the game outright addressed how anti-climatic that pay off was. The frikin journey to and back was more noteworthy since during it we... Got jumped by an Undead Group with Necro Savants and Fallen Champions, found a literal golden goose that lays golden eggs worth 15 crowns per day, and had our Swordmaster become Old (which does lower his stats a decent bit, worse his HP and initiative and that lowers his survivability greatly) after he had one more fight to shine before aging and had an amazing heart to heart with the old man that shows this game's surprisingly great writing. But hey, not complaining about my most profitable contract also being my easiest one. After that, defending a town of that house, and clearing out undead encampments for them, we headed back to Allersdorf yet again to defend it, except the universe said F^^^ you in particularly to the local militia as the first half of the battles, since we ran into their House's army proper in the first two fights, had them start out all alone in the middle of the map, leading them to get slaughtered TWICE by the undead. Starting positions in unusual fights in this game are quite something... *Que dying militia screams as Necro Savants drink them like slurpies* Anyway, after successfully defending Allersdorf yet again, we got one last job from their house to clear out some more encampments, which we not only did, but was the last push the world of man needed to defeat the Undead yet again with the Lost Sons as their saviors this time. With that victory, the Lost Sons are both a legendary company in the eyes of many and the richest mercenary company I've managed thus far (currently sitting on 55K Crowns). However, in addition to solving two End Game Crisises, we need 6K renown and we only have 4.3K. The Lost Sons' story shall continue, but for a later day as we head back to Wars World in Reboot Camp.
@jaredfayette2567 Breakable walls would be interesting if you could break them after you trigger the trap or something like that. Dark Armed Dragon was well known for the Tele-Dad deck if I am remembering my Yu-Gi-Oh trivia correctly. Kempf is pretty well done in FEH. That line was somewhat iconic too. I like the minor bosses in this game too with Kempf getting a lot of attention due to his bad attitude and he is quite the blast to see in the next chapter we see him since he gets put in his place by everyone. I like how other bosses are intergrated as well like the Chapter 13 boss for instance. I do think how Kempf pulls off his devious plan was pretty well done as well. 1% misses tend to happen in Thracia but most of the time, they don't matter too much from my personal experience. That would work as well. I was always thinking about a Warp staff to get to Kempf but either way you approach it, you aren't getting Fred. Tends to happen with HP level ups in this game due to some characters starting close to 100% alongside the 30% boost from the scroll and that doesn't even count the other scrolls that boost HP. It is impossible not to quote that line from the Shaya patch. I only learnt about that secret during my own playthrough as well. While this map went very smoothly in my actual playthrough, the practice playthrough went through lots of hell as it took many attempts to beat this map mostly due to bad luck as two separate attempts end due to a Ballista crit, on Dagdar and Fred. I am pretty sure I mentioned this during my playthrough. Good to hear AW1 is done for now and you are starting off strong with AW2. I remember liking Blue Moon since Grit is very fun to play and Colin is one of my favourites although I do remember how much Colin's mission wrecked me on my first playthrough. Gold Comet will also be fun since Kanbei is overpowered and so is Sensei and Sensei might be my favourite CO in this game. While it sounded like a bumpy road for the Lost Sons, glad to hear that they were able to conquer another crisis against the undead. As it turns out, Allersdorf was a pretty cursed town in this run considering it keeps getting attacked. Also, Anakos popping did remind me of someone else. Since you were reading that book, that does remind me that I should go back to reading manga at some point especially with how enjoyable that was last year. As for myself, this past weekend made me very busy meaning it was difficult to keep up with everything it feels like and that included Innocent Sin since I missed one day of uploading but hopefully things will stabilize in the upcoming days. Despite that, Innocent Sin has been going nicely and so has Eternal Punishment since I have made a good amount of progress with a very important dungeon coming up after some preparations on my end since we will get the items that allow me to summon the Ultimate Personas for the party members. Also, my brother made a lot of progress with the FF7 remake as he is in the Shinra building and about to confront Hojo. It also seems like there is going to be a lot more to do after his playthrough as NG+ and Hard mode are things he is considering and also Yuffie's intermission. Another thing that has been happening is I have been seeing a lot of the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer in action with the early access release just around the corner on the 23rd and despite being in early access, the game looks amazing and many people are also praising it too which makes me very happy to hear so I am even more excited to give it a go in the future, whether that is the full PC release or a potential console release.
@@BerserkerRohan It'd be nice to have and be a way to make the map less able to be soft locked. And you remember correctly. DAD was the latter half of Tele-DAD, one of Yugioh's earliest Tier 0s. He was. If it was for FEH's growing power creep and how 200K Feathers to have a fully +10 Grail unit, I might have made him one for the memes. Indeed, he really is a blast to watch. Chapter 13's boss is neat as well, less so for his personality, but how the enemy AI reacts when he goes down, but we'll save that for later. Yeah, for all of his ego and vile, at least he can back up his claims a tiny bit with his planning. Oh yeah, the Warp Staff is an option as well, though like any other solutions to reach him without the trap, it means no Fred and 11x. That makes sense. HP growths are fairly high and there's a lot of scrolls to boost it further, so a +2 HP isn't that surprising when you put it like that. It really is. It's so stupid and unprofessional, but it's too iconic. I feel like you mentioned that as well, so it was nice seeing the real deal go smoothly. I'd rather have that instead of the practice going well and the real deal being an issue. Thanks. Blue Moon was really fun outside of some issues with Nature Walk. Grit is fun to mess with and Colin was really fun to use too. Also yeah, Two Week Test was quite tough for me, especially knowing you can no longer amusingly cheese it by doing nothing anymore. It did take some attempts to get S Rank, but I got it. Mostly fun mission, though I wish you could get some more ground to hold since the one bottleneck spot did start to tire after a bit on the winning run. Kanbei's fun with how stupid he is and can't wait to play as Sensei; Just need to beat Show Stopper, which is now almost done at the time of writing this. Just need to get the Lab Map and blow up the three remaining cannons and it'll be done. Bumpy's a fair way of describing it. Though not bumpy enough to deter the massive progress we made in that crisis. Whenever you go back to reading hope it'll be a nice time. Best of luck with everything keeping you busy and hope it does get all sorted out soon. At least IS and EP are still a fun time despite the setbacks and nice to hear you're getting close to the ultimates in EP. The timing of which I find a bit amusing given how not long ago the other video talking about ultimates pop up in my feed, so funny seeing how the two runs are almost synced with each one's progress. And nice work with your brother reaching what's pretty much end game with how much the remake series is stretching stuff out. Though doesn't seem like it'll be the end soon with Hard Mode NG+ and the Yuffie Intermission. Great to hear that the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer game is shaping up incredibly well. With Early Access coming out tomorrow (or today in your timezone), hope you both learn more about the game and that it continues to impress.
@@jaredfayette2567 It would also increase Fred's chance of survival. I was probably considering it too since Kempf did get a good refine. There are many reasons why Kempf is remembered but I do like how cunny he feels in this chapter. If the Ballista are so much of a problem, Warp can help but there are much better uses for it. Practice makes perfect especially with a game like Thracia. Two Week Test is surprisingly difficult to get a S rank due to how powerful Colin normally is but it did feel good to overcome that myself and good to hear the same for you. I wish you continued success with Gold Comet as well. That is what I like to hear. I do have to find something I am really passionate to follow. The levels between the two parties aren't that far apart and the Persona selection is mostly the same too so it does feel like my two runs are quite in sync. Shouldn't be too long before this playthrough is done but there is a lot of reason to keep playing remake so we will see what my brother does. TXR even in this early access stage is shaping up to be a game of the year candidate so it is exciting how the game will keep updating before the full release.
Amazing its a new upload in America, its Fred gaming time he's the best unit in the game even Ced is scared of his Thunder Sword even despite the weapon triangle advantage, that's how powerful Fred is.
-One of the strongest defenses this fort has is the dense forest that only allows invaders to slowly approach in single file! -No other stats gained, but Osian getting +2 HP on levelup is cool....and then he did it again, amazing! -The portcullis being shown in battles when you're actually near it is a great touch, I forgot about that. -I heard that the 'In America' line was put in by the old fan translator to see if the playtesters were paying attention, and then either it became a popular joke or they forgot to remove it for release. The whole process of fan translation was pretty half-assed in those days. -I've had pretty good luck baiting ballistae with mounted units who are carrying other units, but your Fergus was ignored in this situation...I'm pretty sure it's not random but maybe there's some stat threshold(s) that are looked at for enemy targeting. Fred also seems to be a pretty high priority target. -Another strat if you know what's coming is to fly Karin onto one of the two stairways in advance. This is out of the range of both ballistae, and she can work on killing one of them as soon as it appears. Whether she has the strength to kill in a single turn though, is often pretty sketchy without enough lance rank and a strong weapon. She might want Fergus support from the south to fish for a crit. It's been too long since I played this chapter, I don't recall if Fred or the ballistae have any stat variation as you would usually see in this game or if they're static to create Fred's healing AI problem. -Wow, Dagdar really should have died from the ballistae there lol! -Ha, Brighton is so heavy that the armor knight struggles to leave the map with him...we'll see you later Brighton, your sacrifice will not be in vain! I have to admit, I never paid any attention to that doorway to the prison. At first I assumed that Brighton will appear in Chapter 20x, but now that I think of it...he'll probably be around to "help" Olwen and the kids in the next chapter which is extremely cool!
Brave Sir Kempf ran away. In seriousness, he truly is a piece of work, and he has the shrewdness to back it up, too. Maybe we'll put him in his place, or maybe we won't. Add "not being able to heal green units in this game" to the list of green unit moments. That and refusing to self heal when at half health. Oh noes! Brighton's been captured and the enemy escaped with him! Anyway...
When Kempf called Fred Olwen’s “Adjutant,” it made me think of Olwen being deployed in Three Houses and Fred being her actual adjutant and adding in a little attack every now and then LOL. Boucheron would sometimes get HP +2 on level ups in Engage! He’s one of the few units I’d see that happen with across FE. Whenever that’d happen, I’d be like yay. That’s true…the next three consecutive maps are fog of war. I forgot about that! 12x pissed me TF OFF when I played. I have a funny story time for when that map rolls around. I don’t know the Yugioh quote but I thought it was funny lol. Even funnier that someone thought to put it in a fan translation of Thracia lol ☠️. That’s random haha. I tried capturing Kempf, but obviously that doesn’t work lol! I was just like, “Oh…okay then!”
Oh yeah, that 3H mechanic. That and Gambit Boost I still don't fully understand. Most fan translators back then were edgy teenagers who thought taking Japanese classes allowed them to translate whole games. Kempf is uncapturable here, sadly.
@ I didn’t know that most fan translators were teenagers taking JP courses omg…that’s wild! Good on them for making more games widely available for ppl. Re: Adjutants, there’s three types! Attackers, Healers, and Guard Adjutants. It depends on a unit’s class. So if someone is in a class like priest, they’ll be a healer adjutant, if someone is an armor knight or fortress knight, they’ll be a guard adjutant, and I think all the other classes are just attacker adjutants. The guard adjutants are the best bc they protect your units from attacks sometimes. And Gambit Boost basically works like Linked Attacks. When a unit is in range to attack an enemy that another unit is currently attacking (or using a gambit on), you get a Linked Attack or (Gambit Boost if you’re using a gambit). Depending on the support level of the characters (or certain pairs like Felix/Sylvain or Edelgard/Hubert), the might and hit rate of the attack (or gambit) will increase when a Linked Attack (or Gambit Boost) occurs. It’s not like Engage where characters have to be adjacent to trigger Support Bonuses in battle, as long as a unit can attack the same enemy you’re currently attacking the Linked Attack or Gambit Boost will occur (which brings some funniness in when you have Dorothea equipped with Meteor lol).
Glad to see you back Klingy 5:39 I think I've seen this guy with Narcicus (I think that's how you spell it) from FE6 somewhere 5:57 Cause debates in the fandom? 13:21 And to think he's not even the youngest playable character in this game to my understanding 26:34 Doesn’t Kellam have something like this? 32:32 Ah that guy! In America feels like its really a reflection of the humor at the time 53:28 I can just imagine Kemph's reaction to having his stuff stolen I'm guessing Brighton is meant to act as some undercover capture
Finally, it’s time for the chapter IN AMERICA!!! Yeah I had to, not much to say about this chapter aside from be careful of the ballistas and make sure Fred gets out alive. And grab the torch staff as you may need it to survive: The H A L L W A Y O F D E A T H
Since I had a file I had recently started of this and gotten to chapter 10, I decided to play along with this playthrough. The file is now on 12x and I'll probably stay a chapter or two ahead generally. Some highlights from my file: I have a level 20 Leif with some pretty crazy stats, though most of that is because he got the HP, Spd, and Def rings in early game mixed with him carrying the Hodr and Baldo scrolls during the escape arc. I have an unpromoted Callion with similar stats to yours due to some scroll use alongside him getting my elite manual. Also kind of funny, my Nanna has very similar stats to yours, so high magic and speed, but I had actually given her scrolls to boost her strength, to the point where she had a 50% strength growth, but refused to get any for 8 levels, but somehow hit her 10% magic growth 3 times in those 8 levels. Don't ask me how that works. Other units have been interesting, but I'll save those for later.
@BigKlingy I'm definitely the most concerned with Chapter 22. I wasn't able to properly play it the first time because I had run out of Restore staves and had to resort to a 1-turn Warp clear. For 24x I plan to warp Ced and have him annihilate the middle room, since I didn't think about that last time and see how it goes! Also taking the B route too since I never took that route. If you're taking the A route, good luck, cuz...Chapter 17A is a nasty one
Yet another one of those moments where I scream "who thought this was a good idea" when I look at the starting position in this map, haha. Anyway, yeah, this part of the game I find quite interesting for obvious reasons. Anyway, no offense to Fred but, screw you green units. Pn the side note, seeing your Nanna reminded me that I am not getting her in my current fe4 run (different one from last one) since I somehow managed to do 0 pairings without killing any female units. (Though I didn’t recruit Jamke and Beowulf and missed some items but oh well. Gotta make sure Sylvia doesn’t pair with Lewyn!)
The Thicket you have to march single-file through doesn't really serve a purpose as it's not like there's a lot of enemies. Good luck on not having people fall for Lewyn!
It’s the funny America guy!!! (outside of what, Yu-Gi-Oh abridged or what ever the America meme originated from) I still don’t know why some of the early fan translations took some, liberties with his dialogue, but it must of made him more memorable at least! (Outside his Reinhardt hate aging well because of heroes)
Philosophy differences, mainly. Back in those days, the act of fan translation was approached differently. I don't want to say 'taken less seriously' since that's a bit mean. But the idea of taking extensively liberties was viewed as more acceptable back then than it is now
@ thinking about it, that makes sense what with all the swearing and leaving in random Japanese words early anime fan translations were infamous for, so it makes sense this applies to early video game fan translation.
@@HolyAlondite It's also notable that back then, most fan translators were in high school or very early college. I probably would've done things this way if I'd done a fan translation at that age.
Kemph's VA in Heroes also went pretty full in on the "In America" meme when he released in Heroes at the time which was hilarious and if you want a VA whiplash moment right now he also plays the Red in Pokemon Masters and also Kurthnaga in Heroes. Depending on how many units are unmoved before the operation, Operation Portcullis jumpscare can be just as nasty to find out blind just as baldly as the Rutger jumpscare in FE6 and I did have to reset thanks to those stupid ballistas when I was doing so well. The Hedges also make this chapter loose points for me, even if the writing is honestly really fun on this chapter I'm just not a fan of the actual gameplay that goes on in this chapter if being honest.
well this will be nice background listening as i am shiny hunting Dratini from Dragon's Den in my HeartGold Shiny Team Playthrough after getting the Shiny Electrode after FAR to long who i was planning in naming Tiki if Female; but for male i don't have a name in mind for however
"Hahaha! The idiots have fallen right into my trap! In America!" 17:02 Riveting gameplay XD Mixed feelings about this chapter. It's the first time we see Kempf, a villain so slimy and smug that I can't help but love him. But in terms of the gameplay, the straight narrow path makes the fort itself a bit tedious to traverse through... ...and then there's Operation Portcullis! Another moment in the game that makes me go 'oh Thracia...'. On one attempt, I tried to preemptively block the doors that spawn in... Nope, as seen in this episode, dudes get pushed back and trapped anyway. The ballista spawns are also very mean hahaha! On my successful attempt I decided to spend a warp use to get rid of one of them, to make things safer. 51:06 Osian missed a few too many Strength levels when I played, so this happened quite a lot for me 54:54 Leif: I just keep having this nagging feeling that I've forgotten something August: Hey if you forgot, it probably wasn't all that important Leif: Yeah I guess
They have fallen for the most well devised trap IN THRACIA.
Irl Dire Thunder is not something i was expecting to hear lmao
“You swing a sword like somebody who isn’t American!”
-Bandit Kempf 776
I read this in the yugioh abridged voice
@@SB23456 Bandit Kempf is a good one, can't believe I've never heard it before.
32:30 ""Memes, The DNA of the soul." Look on the bright side, at least he didn't say
*"Mr. Electric, send him to the principal’s office and have him EXPELLED!!"*
He even acts like someone who would say that.
32:30 It seem that mRNA code of meme is quite unquine . It code i L O L S
Here some food for thought:
The game's title, referring to the year which it takes place, makes a lot of sense if considered an Allegory for the historical year 1776: the year in which The United States declared independence from its parent nation, leading up to The American Revolution a year later. In Jugdral's own 776, the Manster Peninsula is fighting for independence from its own empire, the titular Thracia. Suddenly, "In America!" makes a lot more sense.
Okay i will buy a fire emblem game instant if it this
Making ether paladin or great knight look similar to winged Hussar thay poland had
Or we have a fire emblem land that basically USA aka a republic with so many fire tomes and bows that even the commoner has 5 of them
@@Blazecap Given the number of bosses names after US generals, this might be intentional.
26:19 Or Febail with Chulainn as a father in FE4. Dude gets 175% HP growth!
36:04 The annoying thing about this chapter - there's surprisingly few units who can survive 2 ballista shots.
39:49 Luck only gives 1/2 Dodge in this game (rounded down), so still a 2% crit on Brighton :(
54:08 Clearly Kempf used his trap card, Compulsory Evacuation Device, to return to Friege's hand.
55:44 Is what I'm thinking is about to happen, going to happen? That makes so much sense even though I never even considered it. Bravo, Kaga.
54:08 lol. I can see this guy being a Yugioh villain, actually.
irl Dire Thunder sounds terrifying, that sucks about the tree branch hitting your house (been there myself) I'm glad that no one got hurt
Yeah that's the main justification, and I like that.
0:13 Goddammit Reinhardt. (Or Zeus)
All jokes aside, I'm glad you're back!
Happy 2nd Anniversary to Engage! Also a Metaphor Refantazio Manga is out! And it’s snowing.

@@TheJaredPunch I'd take snow over the crazy storms we're having now.

@@lunaamethyst5724 lol, I've been there. Just saw the 4th movie logo reveal and the wait is going to be PAIN.
Fun fact-you can get the Thunder Sword up to three times. The first is in Nowell Valley, and the second one is here. All you need is Lifis with sufficient Con (about 10, I think, so use the scroll!), and you can steal it from Fred in both chapters.
The third Thunder Sword is in 11x, with Fred bringing it with him as he joins your party.
lol, the amazing multiplying sword! (That or Fred just has a collection of them. Okay that's my new headcanon)

32:06 *_(crowd cheering intensifies)_*
32:40 I think the reason for that was either an instance of the writer putting in an out-of-place line to ensure the proofreaders were actually reading, and/or because the event related to that wouldn't work without something there (a minor coconut.jpg situation is my guess)? Not 100% sure.
34:34 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is possible to kill those ballistae (albeit not with your current lineup of units) while you're still locked in that area. If you somehow got Asbel's Thunder or Fire rank high enough to use Meteor or Bolting, or by using a longbow that an enemy had in an earlier chapter (I think it was Dagdar's Manor?).
55:49 Leif about ten minutes after seizing the throne: "I feel like I'm forgetting something...
August: "If you forgot, then it was nothing important."
Leif: "Yeah, I guess you're right."
(cut to Brighton)
So my Nanna tangent led me down a rabbit hole into comparing her growths in FE4 to FE5. They're... actually pretty different from her average personal growths in FE4 (I took all her growth rates by father, excluded all holy blood bonuses from both parents, and averaged them out).

Maybe for future runs, but warping someone to kill one of the ballistas is great for keeping Fred alive. Fred won’t be able to be killed by an unlucky string of RNG and one less ballista for you to deal with. Really helped in my run
That's pretty good, though you'll be seeing some more Warp uses in 12 and 12x...
Also it just occurred to me, I know it's for gameplay reasons but how is a door key one use but a chest key isn't? Does the door just eat the key? Is a door lock so strong that it breaks every key that's used? Are door key so poorly made that they snap in one use?
The check key's just a rack of keys, I guess?

tbh Return/Frustration was a bit of a wonky move, though losing Pursuit is a pain.

5:56- Yeah you used those lines from FEH. Again, it's hilarious how well Kempf's hatred for Reinhardt aged and transferred into FEH.
8:30- While I vastly prefer having an accurate translation here, I do like the old translation of Kempf going "What are you going to do, kill me you stupid b^^^h?" since I love the one post that has that screen shot and then cuts to the one news report that goes "'What are you going to do stab me,' said victim before being stabbed." lol
9:23- And know we've got to seen Kempf, this leads me into one of Thracia's greatest strengths; Its minor villain cast.
(On that note, love the tip on the loading screen of that game that says "Remember, a 95% hit rate is the same as a 5% chance to miss."
21:25- Alternatively, couldn't you just have others rush in while Leif stays away from the center, get into the throne room, force Kempf to run (as he bails after one round of combat), and then have Leif reach the throne since if Kempf leaves the plan shouldn't trigger?
26:10- Didn't think I'd see a +2 from a level up in a Kaga era FE game outside of Ced's speed growth his Lewyn as his father.

@jaredfayette2567
Breakable walls would be interesting if you could break them after you trigger the trap or something like that.
@@dryzalizer
-Lol, screw Thickets.
-I'd love to hear the history behind the In America line.
Anyway...
I'm intrested to see how many times we'll see America in the comments.
@@55yamy It's been... quite a few so far.
FORT DUMDUM
Something, something, In America.
Glad to see you back Klingy
5:39
I think I've seen this guy with Narcicus (I think that's how you spell it) from FE6 somewhere
5:57
Cause debates in the fandom?
13:21
And to think he's not even the youngest playable character in this game to my understanding
26:34
Doesn’t Kellam have something like this?
32:32
Ah that guy! In America feels like its really a reflection of the humor at the time
53:28
I can just imagine Kemph's reaction to having his stuff stolen
I'm guessing Brighton is meant to act as some undercover capture

5:39 Narcien is how I think you spell it.
13:21 Yep, there's someone really young later on.
Finally, it’s time for the chapter IN AMERICA!!!
Yeah I had to, not much to say about this chapter aside from be careful of the ballistas and make sure Fred gets out alive. And grab the torch staff as you may need it to survive: The H A L L W A Y O F D E A T H
@@megamanzero29 It's two straight chapters of memes, given what's coming next.
Ah yes, the most American Fire Emblem character ever.
I also started another playthrough of FE5 because I have no self control lol
Hopefully Chapter 24x is kind to you. And 22.
Honestly I’ve been watching a bunch of your old let’s plays I actually didn’t realize you’ve been MIA lol
@@cameronmclean6804 That's what I do when RUclipsrs I follow have upload delays.
2:36 in german, the killing weapons are called master weapons actually.
Do green units get charm bonuses?
0:08 - 0:20 / That explains Y. Also, Dire Thunder? Lol. Anyways, hope U get well in case.
Wait, Kling-O, don't you mean Fort Dumdum?
Didn't know about Red in Masters, but that's cool. So did the VA do tweets about the meme or something?
53:57 - 54:52 / Oh? Yep. U coward. Still, next time, U will not get a next chance to escape that time whenever..

"America doesn't exist in the fire emblem universe" unless we are talking about the TMS setting where it probably exists?
I guess. Wonder what's happening there while the TMS stuff is going on.
"Hahaha! The idiots have fallen right into my trap! In America!"
17:02 Riveting gameplay XD
Mixed feelings about this chapter.
51:06 Osian missed a few too many Strength levels when I played, so this happened quite a lot for me
54:54 Leif: I just keep having this nagging feeling that I've forgotten something
August: Hey if you forgot, it probably wasn't all that important
Leif: Yeah I guess
In America
If America did exist in the FE universe... we could use Leif's help right about now...
