After watching and applying many of Dr. Berg’s excellent videos, I checked Amazon to see if he supplied any of the nutrients he mentions. He does, and I buy.
Well, he actually does have a lot of products on Amazon...but doesn't push them! Just bought my first product of his (Purified Bile Salts) yesterday, after watching his detox video.
I started to make fish broth with the fish I catch out of the lake and river. It's amazing what it did for me. No more aches and pains. Used to take me forever to get out of bed due to stiffness.
Make it in an instant pot in the morning and by the afternoon it's ready, without any additional effort. We do this twice a week and it really isn't a big effort and not expensive in the least. Chicken feet are best with pig ears, feet or tails. Beef, Turkey, lamb or chicken bones for a variety works, it's all good. Add a generous helping of sea kelp for trace minerals and some fish heads when available, anything with collagen works. I add cayenne pepper, a little more ACV and a generous helping of coconut oil before putting it hot into a bullet blender and serving. Don't have it every day but most days, my skin, nails and hair have never been happier along with my stomach and internal organs. It's a great way to break a fast, personally I do 18 hours most every day and have never felt better. Lots of compliments every day, I seem to have gotten 10 years younger. Good luck
@@jonnanr18 No. I find chicken and smoked pigs feet and ears or a pork hawk makes the best jell but sometimes just fish or turkey or chicken. We always mix it up but never more then 2 main ingredients. When serving we also add cream of tartar before we blend it with coconut oil and cayenne pepper if we feel we need a boost of potassium. We always add fish oil with the vegetables when putting it into the instant pot. There are some good recipes on Utube. It really is easy once it becomes a part of your routine. It's something your body will soon crave.
I make homemade bone broth every other week. Except I put it in a crockpot for 30 hours on low. Ingredients: Package of bones 3 whole carrots cut in 1 inch pieces 3 celery sticks cut in 1 inch pieces 1/2 onion pulled apart 2 tbsp ACV When done(slightly warm still), I strain it into a large glass container to leave out veggies. Let sit till almost room temp. Then stick in fridge overnight or till fat layer is hardened on top. Remove hardened fat layer. Measure and put into jars then refrigerate. Makes about 10-12 jars. I use it to break my 16 hr. daily fast. I add the following after heating up 1-2 mins. 1-2 tbsp MCT oil 1/2 tsp cream of tartar Several dashes of: Pink sea salt Ground pepper Cayenne powder Ground Turmeric I’ve used bone broth and IF for well over a year now. Just turned 50 and I swear by this routine. My body, joints, skin, hair and nails have greatly benefited.
As a Chinese, we have different bone broth recipe with different vegetables and Chinese herbs for different seasons in Hong Kong. We drink soup as our supplement.
Hi Dr. Berg, Thank you so much for this video. I make Bone Broth every week. Even a Keto Bone Broth! Over the years I have perfected a wonderful recipe that includes shanks, marrow bones, and oxtails. This makes a wonderful rich and gelatinous bone broth! I make it in a slow cooker or on the stove top, and when I am in a rush, I use the Instant Pot. I have many videos on making bone broth. I grew up making bone broth with my mom and went on to make it for myself and my family. I have been drinking bone broth for many years now! I soak the marrow bones in acidulated water for an hour while I roast the meaty bones. And then I add the meaty bones and all the drippings to the pot where I am soaking the marrow bones. I make all sorts of variations of bone broth...Beef Bone Broth, Chicken Bone Broth (literally for pennies a jar!), and even Fish Bone Broth. Plus I make variations of Bone Broth including a Keto Bone Broth and and Anti-Inflamatory Bone Broth. Plus, I have found so many clever ways to incorporate bone broth into our diets - other than just drinking it warm. You can even add bone broth to smoothies!! Beef Bone Broth is great in dark chocolate smoothies, Chicken Bone Broth is great in a berry smoothies, and Fish Bone Broth is great in green smoothies...with seaweed!! And I love the bones and liver from US Wellness Meats. Such a wonderful company!! Thank you so much for all you share! I have learned so much from you!! And you are helping me tremendously with my weight loss journey!! All the best, Mary🤗🤗🤗
Mary, does the Instant pot give you the same quality as the regular pot or slow cooker? How much time do you cook it in the Instant pot, regular pot, slow cooker? I'm trying to decide on which is worthwhile investing on. Thanks!
Sue G Z - Hi Sue, I like the slow cooker the best. I simmer beef bone broth for 12 hours and chicken bone broth for 6 hours. The slow cooker or the stove top make the most flavorful and gelatinous bone broths. I would highly recommend either method. I have videos on how to make all sorts of bone broths using all different appliances and I have to say that the slow cooker is by far the winner (the stove top is great too but it requires more baby sitting). Hope this helps! Love, Mary🤗🤗🤗 PS...For the Instant Pot it’s 2 hours on the low pressure setting. 🤗🤗🤗
@@MarysNest Hi I Am From india 😊 I also Learn from your videos Your Explanation is always in details.. thanks A lot.. In Spain we eat a lot of bone broth in its own and add it to meals. My favorite its a dish from Madrid call " Cocido " its made with bones of cow, chicken and pork plus lots of veggies, boil for at least 5 hours . Every time I am not feeling well with cold I have this and I instantly feel much better and taste delicious .
Thank you Doc. I've been struggling from being overweight for a very long time. But in the span of 2 months, I lost 13 kilos off my weight just by watching your show and following your advice.
My grandmother used to make this all the time, Bone soup, she did add noodles to it. Really good and she lived to be 97 and on no meds! Fats are good for you, she is my proof of it.
Excellent advise! My Functional Medicine doctor (MD) also recommends bone broth. We made Pho (forgot to add the apple cider vinegar tho), simmered for 12 hours, added all the veggies and have been eating on it for 2 days. Sleeping great, feeling better and my blood sugar levels are down! 👍😍 Thank you, Dr. Berg!
Oh my gosh! He is a mind reader! I was searching up bone broth videos and couldn’t see one from Dr Berg and was thinking to comment to ask him and 3 hours later, he uploads it!! Dr Berg, I love all your videos. It’s not easy to apply scientific knowledge to practical every day life but you do it so well and teach is beautifully!
I do the same, except I throw them in my old very basic rice cooker. I can then stick the pot in the fridge at night, bring it out the next day, add more water and bones, and boil some more. I will always have the broth ready to drink anytime.
That's not true for the island of Cyprus. Here our diet is very much like the western American diet ever since the late 80s. Also, 10% of the island have type 2 diabetes! So much for the Mediterranean diet. I would say the diets in the islands of Ikaria and Sardinia are more traditional.
Saida Agourram Yes, the Neolithic period brought agriculture into Europe through Anatolia which was where you could consider the Mediterranean diet evolved from. I find it strange how people argue to the teeth about how we have actually evolved to eat grain, with the prevalence of disease and autoimmunity the numbers beg to differ, we haven’t evolved to digest complex grain yet if ever

@@matt_fs There is still a big difference between grains and American bleached wheat flour. I am talking about the diet of my grandparents. You wouldn't even be able to adjust to the lives of your parents so I don't really understand why people use thousands or million years ago as a reference. Or buy processed foods to mimic hunter gatherer diets. Walking to your fridge to get a paleo coconut flour wrap doesn't qualify as walking for miles to reach water. Or gather wood to create a fire for warmth. Maybe the intercity traffic can cause the same stress as facing a bear, lion, tiger but that's about it
Yes, I make bone broth as well and when I drink it, it's like my body is thanking me and saying "Yes, this is what I needed, Thank you!" I feel so good when I drink it. I also make soups with it as well.
Glad to come across this video. There is a certain influencer that has a vegan/vegetarian agenda that tries to put a spin on bone broth. I recall my grandparent's telling me stories about living in Okinawa and they ate bone broth quite often when they were there. The longevity of life is amazing in Okinawa i believe because of this diet with a lot of vegetables. I will continue to make bone broth and enjoy after my fasting. Thanks Dr. Berg!
DocI love ya man. You have no idea how much you help me every day. I am down 18 lbs in 2 months. I workout and eat thing you say are great and I'm feeling great, thank you!!!!!
I once had come up with reasoning why chicken noodle soup was known as good for colds, and it was because of the nutrients from the bone marrow. I made bone broth once, and I cut many of the bones to expose the marrow. Also, I remembered that chicken soup looks much different than what typically comes from the shelf. Other thoughts were: bone broth is firstly about economics; the secondary occurrence is that nutrients are consumed that ordinarily are not - just as this video says.

My God. Trust Dr Berg to come up trumps. I've been looking for almost a year for a simple bone broth recipe. They are all so ruddy complicated, take hours and hours unless you have a special cooker or something, but no, Dr Berg comes up with a simple and doable recipe! Thank you and what a relief!
When I was young my mother, and it was common on other household, made bone broth three times per week, put it in jars then refrigerate them. She kept it on the stove all day and in the oven at night. We had liver 2-3 times a week and green vegetables at every meal except breakfast. She would buy fresh greens such as kale, collards, mustards, one other, and broccol. Then we would wash them and bag them for the freezer. We at tons of fruits during the day and rarely ate bananas. Anytime we were hungry anyone of us could bake sweet potatoes and eat them with butter and cinnamon no sugar. We had cod liver oil once a week. That all went down the drain with TV dinners.

As usual fantastic video Dr Berg👌🏼. I love bone broth. We also use it as a base for cooking rice in Pakistan. Yummmmmm!! Cow/goat trotters soup is also consumed in breakfast esp during winters. It's extremely good for keeping the body warm.
....and a note on the positive...you are an excellent teacher...your videos have all components for adult learning and the variety is as good as it gets...you have a great screen presence which as I watch many other presenters have begun to appreciate how important that is
I was suffering Gastroenteritis from some bacteria this week, so I couldn't eat. And i suddenly realised what to do with all the cow bones in the freezer, some fresh thyme, appelazijn, onions, best medicine :)
I love love love my bone broth. It's one of those things I don't really notice the benefits when I'm drinking it but when I run out after a couple of days yeah then I can really tell that I haven't had it. To make it it's super easy. Save all your bones. You get chicken legs or a whole chicken save the bones I just have a bag in my freezer and I keep putting the bones in there. Separate your bones have chicken bones turkey bones beef bones lamb bones pork bones Fishbones then you get different flavored broth. I found a roaster oven is the easiest way to make bone broth. And there is a difference between bone broth and stock. Stock will be done shortly and doesn't really affect the bones much. Bone broth when it's done especially with chicken bones or you're smaller bones bones will actually crumble when you pinch them between your thumb and forefinger. So the make bone broth with beef bones or you're bigger bones to get a better flavor you can roast them in the oven first. If you're using a roaster oven just take the bones out of the freezer throw them in the roaster oven leave it on low for an hour or so and then Crank It Up the 350 you'll know when the bones are done because you can smell them and they'll start to turn brown. And they do smell yummy then fill the roaster oven with water I put a couple glug of apple cider vinegar I don't really measure. Then I will add carrots onion celery herbs salt or I just leave it plain. you don't want to add garlic because garlic when it cooks that long will turn yuck like sulfur. So once the bones in the water are in bring it up to a boil and there will be foam on top of the water scrape the foam off and discard. Then turn the heat down so that the water is barely simmering. You don't want it to Bubble rapidly just barely breaking the surface if at all. Now just let it cook. I will cook mine sometimes 24 hours 48 hours. For me the time depends on how much I'm making and how much I dip out of the pot to drink while it's cooking. It will also depend on how many bones I have in the pot. Sometimes I have a lot and I do mean a lot almost a full pot full of just bones. so in a case like that I will strain the liquid and then refill the pot with water and keep cooking. broth is really easy to can for later use it only takes 25 minutes for a quart and on average I get about 10 to 12 quarts out of my 18 quart roaster oven. the bones and vegetables that are left behind and I don't use onions at all I mash up and give to the dogs. what I can do for the dogs if I can smash the bones and the vegetables then I add green powder kelp and coconut oil I may be a powder multivitamin I mix it all up and freeze it in ice cube trays then pop the cubes out and store in a freezer bag and that gives the dogs a nice little homemade vitamin snack. sometimes I let the cubes thaw and then add the cubes to the food that I cook for them. now I will have a cup of broth sometimes in replacement of coffee I probably drank I probably drank a quart a day I probably drank a quart a day I probably drank a quart a day I probably drink a quart a day because it's so delicious. often times I can have it for a quick meal or as a side to a meal. in my broth when I'm ready to drink it I will add in my super green powder that I make and that basically has everything green in it dandelion leaves kale spinach Swiss chard beet greens collard greens sometimes green onion leaves pretty much if it's green I will dry it then powder it. then I can add in some fresh veggies and I add in Master tonic you can Google that recipe. I tweaked my recipe by adding different herbs like oregano parsley dandelion and I add turmeric ginger sometimes lemongrass just depends on what I'm working on at the time health wise. if you haven't made your own bone broth you really need to give it a try it is so much better than the stuff you get at the store. in the winter time I usually keep a pot going all the time so we can dip out of it all day instead of having a cup of tea or coffee. I don't know if bone broth just plain bone broth with nothing else added is considered breaking intermittent fasting if it is oh well then I guess I'm going to be breaking fasting
@@bonniegirl5138 sorry didn't see this come through. A 'roaster oven' is a small oven that looks more like a slow cooker than an oven. The common use is people will cook turkey's in them. Look it up on line and pictures will pop up. you can find them used all the time. I used them for 2 yrs when I didn't have an oven. Now that I have an oven I still will use my roaster for a lot of things. Especially in the summer time as I can set it up outside. There are different sizes also
I use bones and pig ears, add a a lot of collagen. I also use a pressure cooker and cook for 3-5 hours. It's really good and thickens like jello when its chilled.
Get some ox tail, put in slow cooker at low heat, a little bit of cooking wine, whole black pepper, and vinegar. For more flavor, ginger and green onion would be good additions. The broth is amazing making pho at home. Perfect for fall and winter. You can do the same with chicken, beef, and pork bones. Delicious and easy :)
I like to cook mine for 36 hours. I use 5 tablespoons of ACV (is that too much?). The last six hours I throw in a halved onion, the largest carrot I could find, and 3 celery stalks for flavor. I don't strain out the soft bone marrow, those are super amazing for your own bones. I drink it straight and use it for soup
I just ordered liverwurst, liver and bone broth from Wellness. This Fall I will make my own bone broth but I'd like to try Kettle broth as well. Thanks Dr. Berg!🐾
Great video with helpful info!!! Pho, a Vietnamese soup, is a fantastic beef bone based soup!!! Rather than using the traditional rice noodle for the soup, you can use vegetables like cabbage, green beans or what ever you like along with thinly sliced brisket!!! ☮️🖖🏽
I make chicken stock a lot. My grocery store sells chicken backs, or I will use bones from chicken I make. Boil it, strain it, then place it in a gallon pitcher over night. You will be able to scrape out the chicken fat from the top. Pour the stock into muffin tins until they are hard, pop out and store into ziploc bags in the freezer. It really adds a lot of flavor to soup. I have been wanting to make beef.
I make my chicken bone broth with ginger, turmeric, acv , garlic, celery and carrots. I only use purified water. Cook in slow cooker for 24 hours. It is really delicious.
One of the delicious ways to have bone broth aside and fry an onion and throw in some cabbage , then mix the bone broth with the bones and cabbage onion mixture, some salt 😋. It is soothing for the soul. The richness. Doesn't look so good but the taste is amazing. Try no to have too much liquid in the bone broth.

just made chicken bone broth. had a carcass in the crockpot for two nights straight on low. i was able to crush the bones in my hands. boiled the broth with the crushed bones for another 2 hours on the stove and put the strained broth in my containers. i don't season it so i can use it in different flavored soups or just warmed up with a pinch of salt and pepper in the morning. i have made chicken, beef, pork and turkey bone broth. the other day i made my own veggie stock to use in the soups too.
I've been saving all my pork, beef and chicken bones and making bone broth with that. Tastes great but I pretty much fill the crockpot with bones and then top off with water.
There are no farmer's markets here where I live---if any, they're at least two hours away, either in St. Louis or Springfield, MO, neither of which city I'll go near by myself---and the brand "Kettle and Fire" isn't available anywhere here. However, I did find what I consider to be an acceptable bone broth, both beef and chicken, so I use it to cook my meats in. Oddly enough, I cook "opposite"---the beef is better cooked in the chicken broth, and vice versa---and then once I remove the meat, I add a few spices to the broth and drink it all up. I use my Instant Pot-type pressure cooker to cook all meats, so the meats are then infused with the goodness of the broth. I'm moving to a real apartment next week, where I'll have an actual kitchen in which to cook, so I'll try making my own bone broth once I'm settled in.
You can cook it in a pressure cooker too. Way faster! Same end end results. Tastes a lot better than Kettle and Fire. I also can it so it’s shelf stable.
Do it in your crock pot ( slow cooker ) outdoors if you can as it stinks the kitchen I use an extension lead leave it for 18 +hours. There will be fat on top of broth in fridge just scoop it off for frying or oven meals for fat. kettleandfire is a little expensive, unless you buy a whole lot and can find a discount code. U.s. wellness meats sells a 5 pound bucket that you can thaw, and it comes to around 3 to $4 a serving; if you drink a cup at a time. My gut loves bone broth. I have it every other day.
John Goodhue do you know if it’s not recommended to dilute and stretch bone broth? I’m adding water to kettle and fire to stretch it out for the week....
@@morefaiththanever Never heard of doing that. I'm sure it's fine- a little better than none. Again, I go a cup every other day, and not on my fasting day; so it's 3x a week and I feel I'm doing real good. Stomach and rest of pipes just fine
@@Mart-yn7df I have the large instant pot (8 quart I believe). I put two whole chicken carcasses in it (raw or roasted and you can get away with just one carcass), add a bunch of rough cut carrots, celery, a couple onions, garlic cloves, Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, bay leaves and some poultry seasoning. Add water to the full line and set it for 90 minutes. Sometimes we add a tablespoon or two of vinegar. Once the time is done relieve the pressure and strain the contents out of the broth. Add salt/pepper to your preference and enjoy. This is a simple way to make amazing stock. You can substitute the chicken carcass for any animal bones. I have a small farm so we will do this with beef or pork bones too. If it smells like farts while it’s cooking that is a good sign lol.

G`day Dr Berg ,I always roast my bones for half an hour in the oven then put them in water and ACV for half an hour this makes all the difference ! PS: I always cook mine in a pressure cooker for 2 hours .
Wow I have a pressure cooker 👍 how much water to it ? And how many pounds of bones ? Is it good only chicken bones ? My husband do not like the thing inside the beef bones 😉 How you roast them ? I mean what degre ? Thanks so much for helping me 👍
I prefer using oxtail -- they taste better than other beef bone. I like to boil for 3 to 4 hours and then towards the end add onion, garlic, salt & pepper. Pour over cooked rice noodles and garnish. Tasty.
Oh, another video mentioned saving yr veggie scraps like carrot tops, celery, etc. Strain them out with the bones. I save scraps in the freezer until I make the broth.
A local store near me sells organic, grass fed beef bone broth in cartons. I make stew and marinara out it every week, a couple times a week at least. Its great stuff.
Ask your Dr what part carbs have to do with healing any part in your body,? We are made of meat, bones, skin, and blood...seems they are not made of carbs, we still get some carbohydrates in the veggies we eat, but we also get vitamins, & minerals that heal, our bones.
No idea sorry, but interesting and I hope you cure well. My amateur thinking ( I am a lawyer) is to keep high in nutrients whether this is with or without carbs. What I do feel confident in saying is 'Eat heaps'. Good luck and best wishes from NZ.
Have been making bones broths for four years now. Originally… woman on YT with similar recipe as dr Berg. However, was my understanding from her that you can re use bones 3-4 times and keep getting mineral content each time. Eventually the bones will get crunchy (kind of like an ice cube that has sat out and softened)and fall apart. I do this! After cooking, separate bones out of strainer, cool down, refreeze until next time. This make it easier on pocket. You can possibly afford organic/grass fed this way.
I use a slow cooker, add bones, water and a bit ginger roots. Cook over night, then take out all the solid stuff. Also take out and store the top layer of oil for cooking vegetables. The broth turns into jello like form in the fridge.
I Love bone broth, Im happy you are speaking on it now. I have been making it for years, way before before it was cool, It came from being frugal., I knew all that flavor had to be healthy. Seems like our American culture has been really missing out on this, we grew up on boneless skinless chicken Brest, low fat ground beef and turkey, we have almost been throwing out the baby with the bath water.
I would love to try chicken bone broth but I’m rightly concerned about things such as: 1. do they cook the chickens in aluminium foil? 2. do they pour the liquid broth into the plastic pouches or cartons while still hot/warm? 3. do they source chickens that have been pasture-raised and organic and not from overseas? The third one is easily possible to find out and make sure of as there are a lot of brands which are organic and grass fed etc, but the first two isn’t so. It’s very unlikely that they do things differently here. I even contacted an organic brand and they told me that they pour into plastic pouches while still hot which is stupid as far as I’m concerned since it’s no longer organic when the plastic leaches into it. I also asked about the foil but don’t recall getting a response. I also wouldn’t want to make bone broth myself as it’s too much faffing about and I don’t have the time or the kitchen space for doing any of that.
Oh what’s also funny is I just had some bone broth myself (epic artisanal) and I came on RUclips to research about coconut aminos and this was one of the videos that came up. Not even coconut aminos haha.
Ive been on a somewhat Keto diet and didn't know it until i stumbled upon this channel. Been watching waaaaay too much of Dr Berg...interesting stuff. I make bone broth to help with the healing of my joints, hardly any back pains anymore. Wat cheaper making it yourself and i cut the time down to 12hrs cooking using a pressure cooker and letting the mixture sit for 6 hours room temperature and 8 hrs in the fridge too remove the fat layer on top.
Drinking bone broth from organic bones is one of the healthiest thing you can do. It's low in calories but filling and has good amount of protein as well. I drink it three times a day between meals and it tastes really good too
Ramen style bone broth- 3lb pigs feet 1lb pork hocks 1 lb chicken wing tips or chicken wings 1large onion 2 bunches scallions 4 inch finger 1 lb mushrooms. 1 bulb garlic -Blanch the bones and clean away scum - place blanched bones and aromatics in a pot. Cover with water and low simmer for 14hrs
Please make a video on microwaving foods, are they healthy or no? And can I eat cardamon while fasting? I use them instead of any gum. Thank you dr. Berg.
1-2 cardamons won't hurt ketosis i would say, but a lot might effect the brain into thinking you're getting food and start producing stomach acids and other things
@@ellanola6284 any reasons to do it? microwaving doesn't do anything bad to your food, it makes the atoms move faster in the food which generates heat.... it doesn't spray poison on your food lol

It helps a lot.
EXPANDED CHICKEN BROTH INSTRUCTIONS: Consider chicken separate from beef broth (beef bones cost big $$$). Keeping the recipe simple will help to ensure you actually make it. Have a stock pot or a large crock pot or a pressure cooker (I like the stock pot). Some people keep a constant supply of bone broth on hand with a continuously working crock pot. Buy the best chicken you can find. You can cut up a whole chicken; but if you can get a collection of necks, backs, wings and feet (or any combination thereof) that's a good target. The feet are great if you can confront them!! A pig's foot is fine too! Forget the chicken carcass, there's nothing in it (it can be used as animal feed). Fill the pot with filtered water until the bones are covered by about an inch and simmer the bones for at least 6 hours (up to 24). Yes, add a few tablespoons of ACV to the pot. You want the pot simmering and the gentle art of covering the pot and getting it so it just simmers needs practice. When possible just leave the pot uncovered and add more water as it boils away. Veggies are optional and I'm just as happy without them (more work, more trash, less space for the bones to boil). WHAT ABOUT THE CHICKEN CLINGING TO THE BONES? You can "rescue" it after the pot has simmered for an hour-and-a-half. Some people leave the meat on the bones the whole cooking time at which point you have the choice of saving it or tossing it. When it comes to storing your (perhaps) two quarts of broth I suggest freezing most of the strained broth by filling one-quart Pyrex dishes with two to three cups of broth. It's a good idea to put a strainer over a Pyrex dishes and use a ladle to first take a good amount of the broth out of the pot. Hat's off to all the broth makers.
Thanks for sharing…..i agree with all you have suggested except for part re chicken caucus being of no value…. The bones are rich source of flavor….alway crack every bone with large meat tenderizer. I do like to cut end of chicken legs…heard there is boron in soft ends. Correct me if wrong! Thank again KathyM
We buy rotisserie chicken (cheap at the end of the day) and save the whole carcass. We freeze them until we have at least 4 and occasionally 6 then follow this method. It makes the most amazing broth/stock which we then strain and either freeze or use for soup immediately. It’s lovely; hearty, tasty and silky. The remnants are easy to grind down into a paste like consistency which we feed to the dog, cat and the chickens. Nothing goes to waste.
I would not recommend adding salt while making the broth. because you are reducing the liquid so much, it is way to easy to add too much salt . Instead, add the salt, to taste, in the final dish.

@@CalmVibesVee I use bluegill and largemouth. Just simmer it with onions, garlic, parsley, mint, peppercorns, cloves, tarragon and sea salt.

I make homemade bone broth every other week. Except I put it in a crockpot for 30 hours on low.
Ingredients:
Package of bones
3 whole carrots cut in 1 inch pieces
3 celery sticks cut in 1 inch pieces
1/2 onion pulled apart
2 tbsp ACV
When done(slightly warm still), I strain it into a large glass container to leave out veggies. Let sit till almost room temp. Then stick in fridge overnight or till fat layer is hardened on top. Remove hardened fat layer. Measure and put into jars then refrigerate.
Makes about 10-12 jars.

I add the following after heating up 1-2 mins.
1-2 tbsp MCT oil
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Several dashes of:
Pink sea salt
Ground pepper
Cayenne powder
Ground Turmeric

I like to roast the bones in the oven for a couple of hours before I put them in the stock pot, it gives it a better flavor.
God Bless you for sharing this,,,trying it out and hoping it turns out good

I heard I should try fasting and drink bone broth when I must have something. Fast times vary. I’m hearing 18 hours. I’ll try anything to get Improvement to my present state. 🎗🤞🏼🍀
Thanks so much for helping me 👍
And will pressure cooker damage the minerals vitamins you think ?
I prefer using oxtail -- they taste better than other beef bone. I like to boil for 3 to 4 hours and then towards the end add onion, garlic, salt & pepper. Pour over cooked rice noodles and garnish. Tasty.
Oh, another video mentioned saving yr veggie scraps like carrot tops, celery, etc. Strain them out with the bones. I save scraps in the freezer until I make the broth.
I eat the whole thing🤔🥀
Great idea! Thanks...I think it would add lots of flavour!!
Yep that was how my mother made broth
Dr. Berg & Dr. Pradip Jamnadas are two of my favorite people to listen to. 🙌🙏
Thank you for sharing. I've tried the Kettle and Fire, and like it. Great for a quick meal, but a pit pricey for regular use. Homemade is better.
A local store near me sells organic, grass fed beef bone broth in cartons. I make stew and marinara out it every week, a couple times a week at least. Its great stuff.
I’d like to know your thoughts on healing broken bones while on a Keto diet. Doctors continue to tell me to eat carbs, but I’d like to stay on Keto.
Bone broth, collagen peptides, vitamin d3 with k2, and omega 3.
Carbs will actually delay healing because they will siphon your nutrients out of your body.
Dont forget to take boron
Have been making bones broths for four years now. Originally… woman on YT with
similar recipe as dr Berg.
Head over to "Mary's nest" RUclips channel if you want to make real gelatinous bone broth. She taught me and I make it almost every weekend 🙌
Can I try some of your bone broth
Kyla Siler - Hi Kyla!! You are so sweet!! I am so happy to hear that the bone broth is turning out well for you!! Love, Mary❤️😘❤️
Weekly for me as well, I have some on now actually, yummy.👍

I'm so glad you subscribe to Dr. Berg and because of that and because you commented here, you got yourself a new subscriber.
@Kyla
Thnks for the recommendation.
I subbed.
Donna Bane for bone broth the chicken shd b with skin also ?
Kiran Nathani , yes, when there is skin, I add that in, the cooking breaks it down.
@@donnabane3064 thanks and shd we eat the skin also?
I would love to try chicken bone broth but I’m rightly concerned about things such as:
1. do they cook the chickens in aluminium foil?
2. do they pour the liquid broth into the plastic pouches or cartons while still hot/warm? 3. do they source chickens that have been pasture-raised and organic and not from overseas?
The third one is easily possible to find out and make sure of as there are a lot of brands which are organic and grass fed etc, but the first two isn’t so. It’s very unlikely that they do things differently here. I even contacted an organic brand and they told me that they pour into plastic pouches while still hot which is stupid as far as I’m concerned since it’s no longer organic when the plastic leaches into it. I also asked about the foil but don’t recall getting a response. I also wouldn’t want to make bone broth myself as it’s too much faffing about and I don’t have the time or the kitchen space for doing any of that.
I just drank a carton of Kettle&Fire chicken bone broth and then opened up RUclips and found this video waiting for me. Coincidence?
It's SINCRONICITY.🙄😂😎👽
I think not!
Oh what’s also funny is I just had some bone broth myself (epic artisanal) and I came on RUclips to research about coconut aminos and this was one of the videos that came up. Not even coconut aminos haha.
Thanks for your suggestion I m grateful for that. 😊
You're very welcome!
I add veg, herbs, and fruit into my bone broth. Adds a depth of flavor. I don't buy bones, I just save bones from meals.
Make your own. My bone broth has body and flavor. Well worth the effort. Kettle & Fire taste like flavored water. And the PRICE!!
In the 1960's a neighbor of ours, Jim Bolger, was a Chicago cop, strong as heck. I remember he would eat bbq ribs bone and all.
I'm hungry watching this
Ray Mak I’m hungry watching you.

How are you literally everywhere?????
You are everywhere
you're everywhere bro
Drinking bone broth from organic bones is one of the healthiest thing you can do. It's low in calories but filling and has good amount of protein as well. I drink it three times a day between meals and it tastes really good too
Thank you soooo much, and god bless you, please keep the amazing work ❤️
Ramen style bone broth-
3lb pigs feet
1lb pork hocks
1 lb chicken wing tips or chicken wings
1large onion
2 bunches scallions
4 inch finger
1 lb mushrooms.
1 bulb garlic
-Blanch the bones and clean away scum
- place blanched bones and aromatics in a pot.
No microwaving food ever. Get rid of microwave all together.
@@ellanola6284 any reasons to do it? microwaving doesn't do anything bad to your food, it makes the atoms move faster in the food which generates heat.... it doesn't spray poison on your food lol
I'm actually learning how to cook from this doctor. Haha, better advice received from anybody I know. I live in a dorm and what I can do is very limited. Yeah, and I'm kinda malnourished in many different ways though I don't look skinny or boney. Dr Berg's videos give me a lot of hope that I can always eat better. I love these content very much. It helps a lot.
Great explanation Dr Berg - love how you explain the benefits and show how simple it is to make.
I love kettle and fire. The chicken and mushroom bone broth. I do add extra salt and some lemon zest to it. Wonderful stuff.
I love bone broth 💗 I need to start making it again ! I also like liver a lot but hubby won't touch it. Thanks 👍
Thanks Dr. Eric. Sounds like the way to go.
Waiting for my bone broth order from Fire and Kettle!
Dr. Eric Berg Dc just know that i love you here in kenya 🇰🇪 ❤, You makes things easy for me
I would not recommend adding salt while making the broth. because you are reducing the liquid so much, it is way to easy to add too much salt . Instead, add the salt, to taste, in the final dish.
Salt helps aid in breaking down the bones and pulling out nutrients.
I'm all about soup. We do bone broth in the crock pot. With beef I add not only ACV but balsamic vinegar.. great flavor
Dr AXE is good on this subject
I have pressure canned a lot of organic chicken and beef broth so there is always some ready when I need it.
