  • I try to reimagine World of Light as a Subspace-esque story mode by syncing together the CGI cutscenes from both Smash 4 and Ultimate. And organizing said scenes in a way that formulates some kind of a story (taking beats from WoL).

Also I have a idea for a cutscene that will never happen but I like it
It begins by showing mario and kirby fighting shadow clones then it shows a skateboard on the way then it rams into the shadow clones and a voice is heard "help has arrived" then reveals to be dolly and dylan from 101 dalmatain street with a text freeze frame and they join the smash Brothers on their quest to defeat galeem
(I know they can't join smash but I love the show and thought of a cutscene for them)

@2koolkvs418 Hey, saw your reply but found that your comment was gone. Not sure what happened, but just leaving this response.

Hm…I can still see the my comment. Strange. RUclips probably effed up after I posted my reply to you.

@@2koolkvs418 I figured as much. RUclips comments are glitchy sometimes.
Anyhow, I’m glad you like the vid. Just out of curiosity, what exactly about the artistry video do you disagree with? I’m just a bit confused.

@@anomaly395 I’m gonna explain it in the best way that I can. Ahem, I don’t really think it’s necessary for the music, art, designs, and all that jazz to embody the tone and writing for any piece of media. I feel like you have to watch the movie or play the game to judge it from a writing standpoint. Or at least watch all the cutscenes on YT. Who knows, the writing might surprise you! It can also qualify as art! Correct me if I’m wrong though.

@@2koolkvs418 Ah, I see, I misunderstood. I will make a “slight” correction as maybe it wasn’t clear (sorry for the length in advance. I just try in my comments to explain things the best I can and not leave anything out, so I hope this isn’t a tiresome read).
In that video I wasn’t making an argument and saying objectively that’s how one should judge something or that you need those things *to* embody a story. I was simply showing what artistry is itself (all the outside things which are independent of the story), and demonstrating just how for me those things can change the feeling of a story. Showing that those things for me *are* what embody a story as far as movies, shows, games and the like (they’re not like most books or the actual scripts for ex where it’s just text on paper and you have to imagine everything. They’re specifically made to include those added things to bring it to life in a way we can physically watch and hear).
Like, even if you haven’t seen something in whole, by themselves they tell you how the story is going to be carried stylistically. It’s something that for instance a trailer shows. Trailers don’t usually show you the whole story, so it’s not fair to judge it from *that* aspect. But they show you the style that story is going to be told under (i.e. how it’s *going* to be embodied). You can see off rip the colors and sounds and the designs and some of the music, etc. And so it’s in that way I can judge a piece by how much those things pull me in emotionally. Not that I’m necessarily judging it as a whole, as I can like/dislike the story independently of those things. It’s basically like looking at it and thinking: “This is/isn’t the style I want *for* this story”. It’s not that I don’t care about it outright. Just in terms of by itself (like, if I were to only read it on paper or something). It can be good but it’s like “I wish it was told in a different fashion”. Like I said, this is just an inborn feeling for me rather than a conscious decision that I chose to have one day.
Oh and I just call it “artistry” because I don’t know what you call all of those outside traits combined. I wasn’t talking in terms of what qualifies *as* art. My bad.

@@anomaly395 I just read the whole thing and this is all very understandable. Seems there are certain styles that don’t appeal to you, and that’s ok. I’m not necessarily saying it’s objective. Oh, and I hope I don’t sound nit picky for saying this, but why does your taste in style a bit more…darker and lacking in colors? Is that how cinematography works to you? Correct me if I’m wrong again.
