    _________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
    Some are famous.
    And some infamous....
    ....and some with tragic endings.
    #graves #cemeteries #death

I wonder if it was sad for them or if it was quite the norm and accepted. whenever I think of a woman of that era not marrying, especially if they wanted to, it makes me sad. So many stories buried with the dead. Glad to hear at least some of them. It would be so cool to pick a cemetery mausoleum or even a line of gravestones and crypt by crypt or grave by grave be able to tell each person's story who is buried in that single row of remains. I wonder if that's even possible to find a section of people whose stories could each be found. It was just an interesting thought. Maybe kind of a game in my head as well as a Challange to see if their life riddles could be unwound. Thanks Ron, you always do such a great job speaking for those who can't. RIP to all ❤ 💐

My uncle was killed in Okinawa May 26, 1945. He is now buried in National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu. The first interment there was in 1949. We have a picture of his grave in Okinawa.
We only found out in 2019 that there is a memorial in Okinawa with the names of all those who died during the battle on both sides. A friend sent me a picture of my uncles name. So David Barry from your video must have his name there also.

I really enjoyed Parts 1 and 2. I love this format because it gives a bit of insight into some of the long departed. Although I live in central NC, Charleston, SC is one of my favorite places to walk through old cemeteries. I also love walking through some of the old, forgotten graveyards outside of small towns in southeastern Virginia, at least those that do not lie beneath Smith Moutain Lake now. I've always been fascinated by the people buried in these old cemeteries as I ponder what their lives and personalities were like.

This is what incredible. I love in Ohio where mausoleums in cemeteries are occasionally seen. I understand because of the low lying topography of this part of the country that above ground burial is necessary. But to see rows and rows of mausoleums is mind boggling to me. These are actual cities of the dead
Thanks for this awesome 3 part journey, Ron
