I’m a German teacher, and I use Rammstein often in my lessons. Their lyrics are usually simple and repetitive - great for learning - and if the kids like the music as well, it encourages them to learn.
Ich wünschte, auch nur einer meiner Deutschlehrer oder eine meiner Deutschlehrerinnen hätte das getan. Bin ich doch schon seit meiner Schulzeit Fan, hätte mich das sehr gefreut.
In an interview, Rammstein described the music video of "Ich will" as being a demonstration of the media's obsession with a good story, as well as an illustration of the immortality that can be achieved by those who commit wrongs.
Yaaas you guys finally reached it. My favorite fucking Rammstein music video since I was 15 years old and still now. It’s the love letter from the band to the fans. It’s the one that fans are a part of the song and we are the echo back. The band asks if we can see them, if we can hear them, if we can feel them and we shout back YES WE DO with a volume and fervor that Till is thrown back at how much we stand behind them and love them. The music video is obviously an exaggerated circumstance but it’s to say that Rammstein could rob a fucking bank and the fans would surround them and protect them to the point that they can’t breathe. In the end, they’re still winning awards incarcerated in infamy and Flake is honored like a messiah. It’s a dangerous love but that’s Rammstein, baby.
One little fun fact to that track: it was the first song they designed to actually involve the audience. before the songs worked for themselves, although e.g. "du hast" works great on concerts with the audience, but this song actually needs the audiences response and they weren't sure this really works out. I guess you can say it worked out :D
The singer Till Lindemann was in the East German swimming team and shortlisted for the 1980 Moscow Olympics, but left the sport due to an injury. That's why he's ripped
Till speaks several languages. His bandmate Richard (lead guitarist) has a multinational side project EMIGRATE. Richard plays guitar and sings. Till is sometimes a guest singer. for example the cover ALWAYS ON MY MIND. He sang a beautiful song with the French chanson singer ZAZ LE JARDIN DES LARMES: His new single is sung in Spanish, a cover of the Spanish song ENTRE DOS TIERRAS
And remember this was 2001. There are not that many bands that not only evolve but also keep the same quality, drive and in return receive the same attention and respect from the audience over a period of 25-30 years
The Baader-Meinhof gang (terrorists) was a different story and mostly happened when the later Rammstein members were living in the Soviet-controlled East-Germany. The terrorists didn't give interviews and the media was not interested in their point of view. I assume the inspiration for the song and the video was another (and later) true crime. In 1988 there was a bank heist in Germany (Gladbeck), after which the perpetrators fled and took hostages. During the escape, journalists conducted several interviews with the perpetrators and obstructed police work. After 54 hours of flight through almost half of Germany, the perpetrators were caught. Two hostages and a policeman were killed. The behavior of the journalists, who hindered the work of the police due to their close proximity to the events, later sparked an intensive public debate. In the video Rammstein seems to provoke media attention by the heist, not primarely to steal money. The line "Wir wollen in Beifall untergehen." (We want to drown in applause.) indicates it. The live version of this song (e.g. Ich will - live from Hurricane Festival 2016) shows a great involvement of the audiance. ruclips.net/video/6SXZN_yLJi4/видео.html
Rammstein is just talent, talent, talent, talent, talent, and talent. They are even great actors too. Like many others I would love to see them make a full length movie. It would be Epic.
Apart from the notorious Rammstein double layer meanings, which in this case is media critique, this is a great song to communicate with the audience. Incredible crowd control mechanisms going on. Imagine a dark arena with 70.000 people, a blinding light show, the sawing guitars and roaring basses, and then the singer screams in the chorus "Can you hear me?" and a crowd of 70.000 people is answering with one voice "We hear you!" and so on. I had that at their concert in Munich last year. Still makes me goosebumps just thinking on it.
This is AMAZING live! This is a call and react during their concert! It’s a little bit of a stretch for some peeps in the USA (I’m American, so chill 😅), but I screamed it out in LA 2022!!! ❤
This song is an absolute banger live. We went to see Rammstein in May twice in Dresden Germany and omg you get goosebumps when they play that song. They play with audience like a military opera and the audience are their soldiers and we all comply. It's absolutely insane but freaking amazing
The have a legitimately beautiful song named ohne dich (Without You) No crazy stuff in the video to worry about, and musically different than most of thier songs.
I think it is even better live. Try ruclips.net/video/6SXZN_yLJi4/видео.html I believe in the first verse Till is speaking for the band, second verse for the press (almost the same lyrics but obviously faked sincerity and slight changes like "I want You to believe me" to "We want You to believe us EVERYthing") For me it is about the communication between band and fans inspite of the press that gets in between. And what You said about double meanings - f.i. "we wanna see Your hands" - from the band it means just "raise Your hands clap for us" from the press it is "we wanna see what You are doing so show us Your hands" Live it is great because of the crowd singing to the band and Tills acting on stage for the second verse. Just beautiful.
Really love your Rammstein reactions! There are so many fantastic songs to discover. Also all the live versions are incredible. I am really looking forward seeing them live in May in Dresden .

Awesome reaction as always! You two should definetely react to Angst (again). Speaking of Rammstein videos with multiple layers of messages I'd recommend you check out Ausländer (Foreigner). The visuals are adding so much to the lyrics.
Hi! Army Brat here who, after living from 76 to 1982 in Germany returned Germany in 1984 and then stayed here. Born in 1976 I do remember a little bit the last wave of the RAF. I also remember the Killing of Silke Bischoff (Gladbeck). I love Rammstein. Love your reactions. 👍👍👍
You hsve to do Weiner Blut live at Wackenfest. Till sings like a beast. Its based on another true story. About Fritz. A man who built an apartment soundproof and kidnapped his daughter and kept her there for over 20 years fathering 7 children, some who died. The reason I bring this up is because he is up for PAROLE!!! The monster of Vienna they call him. The title Weiner Blut is Vienna Blood. Tills performance of this monster will blow you away. His voice is mind blowing.
I've never heard anyone call Fritzl the Monster from Vienna, since he is not from vienna. He lived in Amstetten, lower austria. But yes, great, haunting song. I love the whole LIFAD album, for me it's their best after the older classics.
It's about the Gladbeck hostage crisis. A bank raid developed into a hostage crisis and the thugs we're covered by the media like rock stars during the pursuit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladbeck_hostage_crisis
Hi there from Germany. There is one song from Rammstein that you have to react to when you like awesome music and lyrics that allow a ton of interpretations. And the song is almost unknown! I highly recommend a fan made video, it has about 60,000 views, you've found it when you see a big aeroplane. Song is called "Dalai Lama"
The song is about how the press and journalists at the time (and even today) portrayed the band in their favor. Namely, in a bad mood, because it is profitable for media representatives to make money on Rammstein at the expense of hype. In the scene of the video, the bank robbery represents Rammstein's "another" bad deed, so journalists arrive at the scene with the aim of "killing" the band, with a live broadcast from the scene. But behind the press are ordinary people who are fans of Rammstein and respond to the lyrics that they believe and trust the band, despite the media version. At the end of the video, Flake blows up a bank, but no one is killed in the explosion, but snippets of the video are shown, which have served as a propaganda tool among the media, who at the time were using Rammstein to smear them. "Flake" dies, sacrificing himself on behalf of the group.
I'm not super familiar with the lyrics but this works so well live. Till sings and the audience responds & each line is a bit different...hahaha I need to brush up on my part before I see them in the summer! 🤘
9:12 Yes, there are more options. But the most 'messages' are very direct. This one is very calm. But songs like 'alter Mann' directly calls about death and the life we did not life.
I actually saw little of the Stockholm bank robbery, it went on for days, all Stockholm saw it on TV live. Keep on doing what you are doing, thanx. peace n love
This might be my favorite live performance song. no big fire like Sonne or Du Hast, but just incredible lights and stage presence. However, their best music videos have got to be Adieu, Deutschland and Angst.
"Angst" is a good reference, bro. It's showing how we glorify evil, through media, through fandom, through stockholm syndrom. If you want another strong video about that topic check out "Make Me Famous" by Kim Dracula. By the way, Rammstein's last video "Adieu" summarizes many old videos and "the robbery" from Ich Will is a huge part there. Cheers!
Guys you are great....🎉🎉🎉 I give you one you must react... Is a crazy backstorie behind them... Rammstein: Wiener Blut Live at Wacken 2013 with english Lyrics React to this one...is crazy ...hope i see a ... greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

I first saw them at the Roxy a club in NYC 25 years ago..lol.. people are so late to the party.. In the lyrics it's "We want that you believe us everything"(directly translated) Which means we want you to believe everything we say. Not "We want you to believe all of us" Just wanted to correct that translation mistake. Nice reaction keep up the good work!!!
If you haven't already check out "Knebel" by "Lindemann". If you think "he went's crazy sometimes" after that song all other things he did weren't *that* crazy :)
If you want a deep dive into Till's art, review his solo song "Zunge." It's a beautiful car crash. It's haunting and horrifying, but you can't turn away. The song itself is heavy as hell in multiple ways.
Patty Hurst was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army in 1974. On February 4, 1974, publishing heiress Patty Hearst, a sophomore at the University of California at Berkeley, was abducted from her Berkeley residence at Apartment 4, 2603 Benvenue Avenue
My guess is that Rammstein loved the Movie "HEAT" and this is their homage to it, much like the Music video for "Du Hast" is an homage to "Reservoir Dogs" even though every damn reaction channel insists on watching the live version of Du Hast instead.
You should check out “Auslander”. The video is fun and the song is really catchy. The message is always deep with Rammstein. They don’t do much without a deep meaning. Also “Radio” is a great one also kind of fun and catchy and not as heavy as some of their music.
I’m a German teacher, and I use Rammstein often in my lessons. Their lyrics are usually simple and repetitive - great for learning - and if the kids like the music as well, it encourages them to learn.

Wish I had a teacher like that in England.
In an interview, Rammstein described the music video of "Ich will" as being a demonstration of the media's obsession with a good story, as well as an illustration of the immortality that can be achieved by those who commit wrongs.
Till Lindemann and Rammstein noticed that enough last year. The disappointment when there was nothing to it.
This is really good live, Ich Will turns into a back and forth conversation between the audience and the band.
Because IT IS song for live concerts. Probably special made. They can say anithing but it's true goal I think.

in the making of they said that these question and answer songs don't suit them. but since they say afterwards, i don't hear you, it fits again.

Till played a stupid, clumsy petty criminal in the children's film "Amundsen der Pinguin" (Amundsen the Penguin), very convincing and talented 🐧🤣

I highly recommend you to react TILL LINDEMANN - ZUNGE. The video will let you speechless.
They're meant to played loud so you feel it in your chest.
I lvoe Rammstein. Your reactions are so funny. Go Ahead guys. Please react on JamWayne "No Problems" :)
nice show again!
You have to check out his rap Mathematik
I think he's so cute as algebra.😂
For me this song is all about relationship with the media.
Rammstein only live!!!
try going to laser tag games with rammstein playing in the background
My guess is that Rammstein loved the Movie "HEAT" and this is their homage to it, much like the Music video for "Du Hast" is an homage to "Reservoir Dogs" even though every damn reaction channel insists on watching the live version of Du Hast instead.
I recommendend Rammstein "Adieu" :)
You should check out “Auslander”. The video is fun and the song is really catchy. The message is always deep with Rammstein. They don’t do much without a deep meaning.
Also “Radio” is a great one also kind of fun and catchy and not as heavy as some of their music.
