I felt prompted to say a prayer walking up the stairs for President Nelson last night. I stopped and said it right away, an unusually powerfully spiritual prayer.

The Church publishes leather-bound books called “Teachings of the Prophet xxx” for each prophet and gives them as a “Christmas book” to Church employees as their Christmas gift with a card signed by the First Presidency. I received the one for President Hinckley one year, the other four years we received leather-bound copies of the Bible, triple combination, Hymns and Talmadge’s Jesus the Christ. If the one for President Nelson is printed this year, I imagine CHQ EEs will receive that book in December of this year to celebrate him & his 100th birthday. Possibly…

@@bustindustin959 😂 They are retired. If they didn't want to serve the Lord until the end of their lives, they would refuse the calling in the first place! These incredible men and their wives are amazing examples of what the law of consecration can be.
@@bustindustin959I would much rather an older gentleman who’s retired than a younger guy because we need the wisdom of age and grace.
I know my grief would be profound if he passes, but I try to remember God's will and know that where Pres Nelson will be , he will be without pain at all and can do so much work on the other side of the veil. It is what helps me when I know how sad I am going to be when that day comes. I love him very much and hope for the second coming to be quickly here, but whether it is or not, I know I have to be patient in God's perfect timing and will. I am a very emotional creature so I know the sadness will probably overwhelm me for a while. God has our backs. He loves us all. We are His precious children and we can rely on Him!

His life is a beautiful Witness to the world of John 10:10.

After all, "By their fruits you shall know them".
I thank God for prophets, seers & revelators! I pray that families & individuals (including me) will come out from under condemnation for treating the teachings of the Book of Mormon lightly. Oh how I pray.

One of the things that people forget is that Pres Nelson performed many life saving and life extending cardiac surgeries on members of the Quorum of the Twelve and serving prophets. I have always believed that that was one of his rewards from the plan of salvation. 1st he saved many faithful brethren through his skills and training and then had his own life extended as President of the Church.
I was at the BYU Jerusalem Center when President Nelson and Elder Holland visited during that tour. It was incredible to hear them speak. We were told not to record their talks... which had reference to the last days ❤

I work in the Bountiful temple. Wendy Nelson often comes to the temple on my shift. She hasn't been for 3-4 weeks because "she is taking care of her husband" - according to a close friend.

I was in Sacrament meeting with Pres. Oaks last sunday 7/28/2024. He and Sister Oaks spoke for the meeting. I can just say this. He is also very fragile. It was the first time i saw him needing help to stand up to speak. I couldn’t help but think, his body is not going to go on. His voice was still the pres. Oaks you think of, but his body was not. I have been in other meetings with him and he was always and energizer bunny. Shaking the hands of every single person he could. This last sunday was not that. Changes are coming in many ways.
He might have a very short time as president and prophet. But what a powerful time for him to fulfill what he came to earth to as the prophet of the Church. Who knows.. Curious to see what happens.

I see the succession rapidly falling upon Elder Uchtdorf in the coming years, and then Elder Bednar. I think Elder Bednar will have an especially long tenure as President of the Church.

We all new it was getting close. We love President Nelson, But we all can't live for ever, our bodies where only meant to last so long. We all raised our hand in the preexistence to follow God the Fathers plan. And in doing so Jesus Christ stepped up to help use thru this mortal existence. That is the plane of salvation, gain a mortal body, gain experiences, return home to our loving heavenly father.
He just needs to make it to 100!!

My sister went to trade school and wa happily working but last fall she was prompted to go to nursing school so she did ..and this spring she felt like when she finishes she should be planning to go to medical school. No one in our family has ever been involved in that field in any way, and this is all things she has done interest in but never wanted to do, but now with the announcement about BYU medical school we're thinking that's where it will work out she'll end up attending. She has had some ideas of how for sure the world of medicine out in the world (the worldly view) is imploding in a slow sort of way and it's just a nice mess the more time that goes by, and she's sort of assuming she has to be ready to use her education for however the world might need medical attention and help in a serious way in the future and just like with other fields, the church members will be holding everything up in medicine coming up...

President Nelson has been such an inspiration for me. I have been thinking of making little signs of his sayings and hanging them around my house. Or maybe making them for gifts 🎁. He and Sister Nelson are both amazing and look so lovely together. I hope 🤞 he makes it to his birthday. That would be great 😊.

I believe it was EldersQuorum/ Relief Society. We still studied the scriptures for Gospel Doctrine.
I could also see President Nelson making a silent donation to the BYU medical school

The whole first presidency is about to graduate. Seriously, they're all extremely elderly and in poor health. Two of the FP couldn't give live talks last general conference. When I was on my mission, we were tracting and knocked on a door. A man answered and told us our prophet passed away. I still remember my response- "No, we're from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". He said he knew that, and our prophet passed away. Sure enough, we get home and the AP's had left a message letting us know President Benson passed away. Can you imagine- President Benson who had been so ill that he hadn't participated in General Conference for years- and I was shocked that he passed away. The FP will be completely restructured soon enough and more wonderful men will be called as His Apostles. It's not about the man, it's about the keys.

These men serve long and hard faithfully. They deserve to receive their reward for their service. Besides, without health issues, they’ve a greater work on the other side.

What I noticed is that President Oaks used the word “He” 7 times.
- A couple were in Oaks words.
The rest were in President Nelson’s words.
- my opinion is that it ties into President Nelson’s very first talk as President - when the first presidency was announced.

This is extremely sad for me. Pres. Nelson has been a special spiritual leader for me in my life. My grandchildren and I pray every day that he will be given health to guide us into the millennium. Father almighty, strengthen Pres. Nelson & his wife we pray 🙏🏼

Some hope that meant his millennium interview or Adam ondi ahman . I thought it meant his passing . Seems he was giving hints same as Henry B Eyring did .
@@lindamartinez7006 I assumed/prayed he was talking about Adam ondi ahman. As an RN I know that a bad fall in an elderly person usually leads to death within a year or so, but I have been praying that his life would be extended just a little longer. It worked with Pres. Holland❤️. I believe Pres. Nelson has been the “gatherer” pleading with us to be spiritually prepared, etc., Pres. Oaks, I believe, will be the one that separates the wheat from the tares. Many will not abide his prophetic leadership, but we know in the end we will be sifted🙏🏼

And that pres Holland and pres Nelson have gone there so much and play very important Roles there . A lot of history there . Some don’t like Jeffrey R holland they said Jeff go home protesting the BYU Jerusalem center .

I can see a lot not following him . I have heard a lot not liking pres Nelson too because of the shot . Divisions coming . I can see that . President Oaks health is fragile now too .
It was during RS and Priesthood we had Teachings of the Presidents of the Church as course study.
When I read President Oaks post earlier today, with the way he was talking about President Nelson, it made me think, "Oh no, did he just pass away", which thankfully is not yet the case, but when I read about release of President Nelson's book in Presidents of the Church series, I was like, "Wait, what?" Interesting stuff.

I'm still in the camp that David A Bednar will be on of the 2. For me, it's: Elder Bednar has a special way of teaching about Christ's life on earth and how he seems to focus on what Christ said and how he spoke to the Pharisees, and how Christ is so wise that he was never "tripped-up" in the words he spoke. He chose his words extremely carefully, so much so that his opposition could never catch him in his words. We know that the 2 witnesses will spew 'fire' from their mouths. I'm thinking it means with their words. Also, his name is David, and he has been a Church authority over the middle-east and northern Africa area. Plus, Elder Bednar was ordained an apostle on October 7, 2004.
If you have any scripture anywhere that it says these two witnesses names have to be David please show it . I can’t find it anywhere can you All we know is that the Davidict David to rule and reign is Jesus Christ . Where are people getting this David name from our church does not teach this at all. Jared said he can’t find if either . There are some members who feel or teach that there is a forerunner before Jesus named David who sits in a throne . Like John the Baptist was a forerunner . We do not teach this . Some gut Avery a Jewish member is teaching this at the Isiah Institue . He even said our leaders teach wrong . In case anyone has sen this or heard him look him up . He was excommunicated in 1993 for writing false doctrine . Called sept six. Where in sept 1993 6 writers were excommunicated . He was one of them . He got baptized again in1996. If any of you wonder about if google it . There is a lot of information on it? He never felt he was teaching wrong . And sad here he is now doing it again even saying our headings are wrong. So I’m assuming these kinds of teachings are where the name David is coming from. If anyone knows of as heard his teachings put it in the comments .
I have something very interesting for Jared . But no way of proving it . A lady on my news feed put up an article about how her husband was a convert . . He is a Jew . She told how she knows President Holland is an apostle . Said her and her husband had gif to meet elder Holland way back and he shook her husbands hand and said we are from the same tribe . Meaning Elder Holland is from Judah . So I asked her do you mean just from Israel. And Israelite . She said no because elder Holland did not know what tribe her husband was from and he knew they were from the same tribe . Meaning Judah . Take it as you will. I know they do not say their tribes but why not? Wendy got all those tribes in Russia . Anyway would it mean anything if he was from Judah?? Doesn’t seem like he would be but anyone can be from any tribe . I remember Jared looked up the Bednar was a very Jewish name. . When I looked it up it said different . But back to elder Holland if his tribe really is Judah and his assignment is there raised up to the Jewish nation and if they both passed at the same time it could mean something . I think looking for the name DVid is just symbolic as Jesus came through the line of David . If anyone knows where it is found at that two prophets named David ? Unless they take it from the teachings of the Isiah institute ?? He does not even go by the King James Version of the Bible which our church supports . This guy goes by a different t Bible version he feels is more accurate .
Even though McConkie wrote that the 2 prophets would come from the First Presidency and/or Quorum of 12, I’m not sure about that. I think there are some scriptures that indicate they will emanate from among the Jews, but I might be wrong.
BTW, Elder Christofferson’s first name is David, too.

If he was only drinking water since May 19th, he would have passed by now, which is not to say that he isn't declining.
You can live a while on IV fluids and a feeding tube. I can't imagine they would leave him starving to death if he really is that ill.
I think if things were that severe, the Church would be told.
It does not say he does not eat….drinking just water is very healthy for you. I did that for six months, and it caused me to lose weight and overcome some health problems. I hope he is eating.
Maybe it wasn’t necessary for President Nelson to overtly post about a number 7, because July was the 7th month. 😊
I can see the prophecy fulfilling with President Nelson and Jeffrey r Holland and their passing and then after that we get oaks as the prophet let the judging begin
President Oaks is the next in line, even if President Holland doesn't pass any time soon. (I hope he lives longer!)

Elder’s Quorum and Relief Society is where we studied these. The church has put it out that it is the first time a prophet has had his lesson book out before he passed on, but it is also the first time we have had such amazing tools on the internet! It is amazing.

This video was a great example of "looking beyond the mark", in my opinion. Counting up the number of times a General Authority uses the term, "faith" or, "medical school" and attributing divinity or holiness to that number is splitting hairs, grasping at straws, and straining at gnats, etc. For me, this modern style of "looking beyond the mark" smells more like superstition and getting caught up in the "thick of thin things". I'm all for paying attention and following the signs of the times, but can we please stay focused on the gospel?
Is there a reason why they published the prophet's teachings before he goes to the other side of the veil? Maybe there is more to find in the book 😮

If that was on May 19 and the email was on July 31, it wouldn’t make sense that he’s only able to drink water. That was 10 weeks ago. A 99-year-old man would not survive on just water for 10 weeks. I guarantee it. Granted the Lord consisting anyone until their mission is over, but I have a hard time believing that he would be surviving on just water. We also heard from him on May 12 and on June 1.

I work for Dr Gibby and never had that thought and I don’t know if he would do that, possibly part time on the side, but not Full Time. He has a lot on his plate and things he is doing. He has donated a lot of his time and money to the church so who knows??? Curious I’ll have to find out tomorrow.

I am feeling a little anxious about the future. I am seeing all the craziness in the world and I worry about my grandkids and the wickedness that they will be exposed to as normal. I pray that the Lord will come soon to save us from it all. I have faith that everything will work out, but im still anxious. I quit watching the news, because that just stressed me out, but I can't escape the blatant evil surrounding us.. please be kind. I pray, attend the temple 3 days a week, go to church, study the scriptures, minister to my sisters, try my best to be strong, but inside, I'm just quivering.

Does my anxiety mean that I don't have faith and trust in the Savior? That bothers me. If I had faith, why would I feel this way?
I think that means you’re human just like the rest of us/me. Just continue seeking comfort from our Savior. If you haven’t I’d recommend praying and/or fasting to know if you’ll be okay in the days ahead and then you can look back on that feeling to comfort you if or when things get worse before they get better.
Also the prophet has said you/kids/grandkids are here “He knew you had the capacity to negotiate the complexities of the latter part of these latter days. He knew you would grasp the grandeur of His work and be eager to help bring it to pass.” -embrace the future with faith 2020.
@@kathleenerikson2856 I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. Fear and anxiety are not the same thing to me. I’m not scared and afraid, but the things going on in the world right now are pretty serious. It’s all starting to play out right before our eyes and we have “front row seats!” I am admittedly anxious… and excited… and dread it… and can’t wait. 😅
Maybe they posted his book early because he won't pass away, just twinkle.

We are all anxiously awaiting the millennium. Let us watch this numerology carefully so we can be His Church. Many are called but few are chosen. Do not worry about the health of our prophets, for they are His, and He is all knowing.

Why ? He will be back with his wife, he also has work beyond the veil. Why do we put so much emphasis on reaching the 100 year milestone.
I’m worried if he will or won’t make it to his 100th bday. He may yet. But perhaps not to celebrate. Depending. Hope he is ok.
