This comment, plus I love all the awesome indie's and classics that are available for download. A criminally overlooked gem. I agree with BeatEmUps Dreamcast comparison.
Not to poop on your parade, but just about _nearly every one_ of those RPG titles are also available on the PS3 (and as of late, the PS4).
So owning a Vita is good for people who'd rather not play them on a TV.
Alot of the time RPGs play the best on the Vita.

I think if sony would have just called it the psp 2 it wouldve sold better, kind of like the wii u. I remember i would be playing it and someone would ask me what it was or if they knew what a psp was they would ask if it was a psp, kind of recognizing it but not quite. I would tell them its the new playstation vita, and they would say what that? Lol, so I would say its kinda like a psp-2 like a ps2 kind of.
I'm a university student with tight budget, but I love to own my very first handheld, so I decided to buy one used or slightly abused unit, I know no people would care my comment

Great choice, tons of great game on the Vita.
Im a university student too and had bought the vita last year. Currently have 15 games and they're so many games that I still wanna buy. A perfect companion when I have free time especially during the weekends
I actually own LittleBigPlanet Vita and I gotta say, it's a must-buy. If you compare it to the PS3 versions then it's almost the same. Plus, it uses every part of the Vita like the Touchscreen, Rear touchpad etc and it doesn't feel like a gimmick as most people would call it.

You're video has only reaffirmed my love for the Vita. I purchased a PS4 and the PS Vita Borderlands Edition around the same time last year, and then the new 3DS XL about one month later (since it seemed to be a very popular choice), and so far, my PS Vita has been getting the most attention. My new Nintendo 3DS XL along with the games and accessories is buried underneath a box full of stuff, and I've only beaten two games for my PS4 so far. I love my PS Vita so much, and enjoy playing it on the, and at work. It is definitely an underestimated handheld, and certainly not dead! I look on Google news to see any new information about upcoming games daily. I find that the PS Vita is perfect for RPGS and otomes in particular.

It’s not much right now, but I’m really hoping to expand my collection. Out of all of the PS Vita games I’ve played, Persona 4 Dancing All Night, Persona 4 Golden, Norn9 Var Commons, and Code Realize were my favorites. I am also waiting to find a good sale in another 32 gb memory card, and eventually go digital with Norn9, Code Realize, and maybe even Persona 4 Dancing All Night whenever PSN has a good sale on them.
This really will be the Dreamcast of this gen (lkssibly the Wii U too), I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that. If they had gone with SD cards rather than proprietary memory, i think it would have sold better. It's a shame that more people didn't buy it, it's an awesome console.

Two very different systems
The psp didn't get enough good games for it. Especially RPGs.
The PSP was awesome for emulators when it was cracked
+ojideagu yeah, but you'd need a usb cable, and I've lost 2
Mini USB cables are very common though, I've got some sitting around I don't even use! I miss my hacked PSP the direction pad froze in one direction one day so I sold it.

it ia crisper, but the lighting is kind of dark, so I bought 2000 model.. a small downgrade, but brighter.. still the problem with vita is with some games brightness being auto set, and when your watching like a movie scene from a game they brightness automatically go down.. would be better if they fix that..if they make model 3000..

I love my Vita! I have over 160 games for it. The Vita has a bigger library than the 3DS.

If they added Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, I'd buy the Vita. GTA SA is avaliable on mobile OS and has been shown to be fairly lightweight as software.
.............dude they have every gta game thats ion ios and Android.plus liberty city stories came out on both and ps vita plays minecraft the Full version.

I have a ps vita. I am really enjoying it. My favourite game so far is persona 4. Like you said there is alot of great games. I just wish sony put more effort of selling the system and putting great more games for it.
Actually just bought my Second VIta, Local ad had a newer vita 2000 in box wifi only with a 16GB mem card for just under $100.
Saying persona was the reason to buy a vita made me sub you immediately. I bought it for p4 golden.

I was waiting for EUR monster hunter release to buy one, then found out it wasnt happening. Then bought it for 2 reasons. 1 being P4 golden, and the other being remote play with PS4! ;)

i love my vita, i was able to get the gamestop exclusive blue vita and its amazing. I def agree with you on the sound and screen being better than the 3ds as well
I love my PS Vita. As you stated, fantastic graphics, great sound, and dual analog sticks! I bought the Borderlands 2 edition, it came with a digital copy of Borderlands 2 and an 8 gb memory card. I thought it was a nice way to start the collection. Of course I didn't realize it would fill the entire 8 gb memory card just installing Borderlands 2. I tend to buy many physical games now as I just can't justify the $100 64 GB memory card to be able to install 8 games or so. Collecting the games on cartridge has been a lot of fun.
Oh dude. Finally some love for the Vita! I love mine and Im glad u have found it too... Too bad Sony is slowly but surely killing the system and support for it :(

This video sums up exactly what I try to say to people that ask me why I love the Vita. That Dreamcast reference really hit home.
Is the Vita worth it? absolutely. It really is the closest thing a console experience. People say it has no games, but it's more like, Vita doesn't have "big name" AAAA games. Honestly there are a ton of games worth playing, especially if you're a rpg gamer.
I think when Sony makes a handheld they have no mainstream appeal like their consoles do. It only has a niche appeal.

Kaan Erdi Lol yeah the wii u is real bad. It sucks, the Vita could've easily been a lot better with a few things different. Now it's reduced to a ps4 accessoiry for the ps4 by Sony. Well better support, it's barely getting that from Sony.

Relax the consoles dead
Tearaway, Killzone, every Drinkbox studio game, Olli Olli, Hotline Miami, LBP, P4G, Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Steins;Gate, Danganronpa are some of my favorites. I'm halfway towards the complete NA set. Best handheld ever.
Finally some Vita love. I love my Vita a lot. It's a great handheld and def does not get the love it deserves. If you have not played them, consider and please pick these titles up. Some of my favorites.
Tales of Hearts R - yes it's an RPG, but one of the most fun games I have put my time into on the system
Conception 2 - yes another RPG and it's on the 3DS. But it looks better on the Vita. I'm not huge into RPG's myself but I loved this game so much and it has a very interesting concept.
Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 - one of the first games I picked up for the system and one hell of a great fighting game. Sure you can play it elsewhere but you can take this on the go and it looks great.
Freedom Wars - I have put little time into this game but if you like Soul Sacrifice pick this one up, it's pretty cheap
Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!! - An awesome 2D fighting game featuring all women. And the title has count them 5 exclamation marks.
Recently picked up a Vita about 6 months ago as well.
I have found a few games at The Source here in Canada (maybe you guys still call it Radio Shack in the States). They always have some clearance items for brand new games (not used).
The 4 games I picked up were priced between $1.99 to like $7.99. The names of those are:
-The Walking Dead - Season Two
-The Wolf Among Us
-Smart as...
-Hot Shots Golf - World Invitational (funny how the VITA is in this title) ;)
Hot Shots being the most expensive and always loved the series, 4 games for $20 is pretty damn good in CDN funds.

I love the Vita. I couldnt believe it passed up the GBA as my favorite handheld in such a short time. Oh, and if you love the screen on your PS Vita slim, then you'll love the OLED screen on the original Vita. There are some serious pros to the slim though, like more battery life and internal memory. Regardless, I'm glad youre enjoying the most criminally underrated gaming machine of all time!

I would love it if Sony would make a GBA emulator for the vita though, I bought the psp 2000 just because I could hack it and play emulators.
Lone Wolf I dont think Nintendo would just let them make a GBA emulator lmao but i see your point. The fact that the psp was so hackaable is awesome. Maybe we'll figure out how to do that with the vita someday
I mean you can do it with the vita but its extremely difficult to do and if Sony catches you doing it they can delete your account with all the games and no refund. (They really hate hackers ever since the PlayStation network take down incident.)
For me, Ys Memories of Celceta alone makes the system worth it. Kickass action RPG, loved it.
Tearaway is the best vita game. And sure, you can play it on PS4 now but it isnt the same experience. The game SHOULD be played on the vita

I love the vita. I actually bought mine about 4 months ago for about $100 and then I found a 64GB memory card for around $90 so I picked that up and spent about $100 on games (the games on vita are around $5-$30 so I was able to get like 5 games with that) and I honestly don't regret buying the vita. It is a great hand held system and if your considering buying one I would highly recommend it.
I wish super smash bros was on the PSvita, this is the only reason I bought the 3ds.
Not only the great games you mentioned, but tons of PS3 games with PS Now are available! Honestly, getting a Vita seemed obvious to me. But, unfortunately, a lot of people missed out on it.

Alex do it, you won't regret it. But if you could pick the Vita 1000. It has an OLED Screen and the Colours look more vivid. I have one and I don't regret it at all! I've bought my Vita in November 15th and already have 7 Games for it. Yeah ok, the Vita doesn't get Support anymore from Sony, but still, there are a lot of Games you can still grab. So enjoy your Vita, I surely do. :)

I still have my launch 3G Vita and love it! Although some have reported issues with the OLED screen over the years, my still looks beautiful!
I always look for physical games wherever I can, and you did a good job of covering the good ones. As you mentioned, the reason is clear - try to liberate as much memory card space as I can; I've even purchased some games that I had gotten via PS+ for that simple reason.
Another great thing to look out for are the Limited Run Games releases, in order to score physical copies of games that would otherwise be digital only. One final thing I can recommend is to be on the lookout for Japanese games, as the Vita is region free - it seems to be more popular over there, so the release train is still pretty significant over there. Also, get the 64GB cars sold only in Japan if you can - it doesn't cost too much more than the 32GB sold here.
I bought the Vita originally for Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth since I couldn't afford a PS4 or its games... But I don't regret buying it at all cause I bought Persona 4 Golden to have a game until Digimon is released and I loved Persona! And the amount of games which are available surprised me!

I bought my Vita for the same reason. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Completed the game with 200+ hours on the clock (I do grind a lot though) and didn't regret it once.

Got a vita used but I would have sworn it was new if it didn't say it was used. System + 32gb memory card + charger + case = 180 dollars. I then bought final fantasy x x2 hd for 20 dollars.

Tommaso Sirigu, you're thinking of the original Dissidia. I'm referring to Duodecim. It was made exclusively for the Vita. It included new playable characters, stages, combat, story mode, and better online playing. A definite must have for the Vita and PSTV.
You can still play the original Dissidia on the Vita and the PSTV. But why???
BenJamin Croft sorry buddy but you're still getting it wrong. Dissidia Final Fantasy, which I own, and Dissidia 012 (Duodecim in Latin) were both designed for the PSP. The Difference between them is simple. Shortly, Duodecim is Dissidia 2.0 more Storymodes + 8 new Characters ( Laguna, Kain, Gilgamesh, Tifa, Aerith, Yuna and Lightning)I still have to buy it though. The Reason why you can play them on Vita is the same like PS1 Games on PSP. Backwardscompatibility. You can find PS1, PSP and PS Mini Games in the Vita Store. Though I personally think that the Minis are useless.

Seing that I already own Dissidia on PSP, I probably buy Dissidia 012 Duodecim also for the PSP instead of buying the digital Version on the VITA. I'm not a Fan of Download Games, I prefer more physical Media Types. Further more, it looks better on a Shelf :)
My whole channel so far is just based on Vita collecting. At this moment I am trying to go for a complete US physical vita collection. Nice video mate! Glad the Vita is still getting some love!

very valid video. i just bought a vita and i have been treasure hunting for games with much success. its a legendary handheld and with a little bit of money invested, this will satisfy my portable gaming needs beyond any new portable out there. this system dropped waaaay ahead of its time and i guess thats why i picked it up in 2017 without even considering the nintendo switch. playstation didnt fail with the vita, they just couldnt afford to support such a powerful portable all while the ps4 was soaring and vr products where hitting the scene . strange how i waited almost six years to buy one and it still feels like one of the best portables out.

I bought my vita a few months ago. I only have a grand total of 7 games so far (3 of them ps one classics) and already I LOVE THE SYSTEM. Persona 4, Gravity Rush, and Helldivers are my favourite so far. I am hoping to play Uncharted and Killzone too. I definitely recommend the system to my hardcore gamer friends or anyone who wants to get a handheld right now.
My favorite games are the BlazBlue and Danganronpa Series.

Awesome video brother. I really enjoy playing my ps vita slim. I purchased the L1 and L2 trigger button adapter piece for it. PS4 remote play is another huge feature gamers should know about when getting the PS VITA. :-)

haha persona has made an rpg fan boy out of you eh. nice lol. how is bravely second? I tried playing bravely default but lost interest for some reason :/ its hard for me to play handhelds though so I'll attribute it to that .
The vita is much more comfortable in adult hands than the 3ds is. 3ds XL has 0 ergonomics and I cramp up after just like 30mins.

I think the PSP portion of the PS Vita can be hacked to play the PSP Isos at least, not heard if all the functions of the Vita had already been hacked, but it happens, it would sell as much as the PSP did ( > u 0)
but, considering the games are cheap in the PSN Store ( more because physical copies are almost are in this day ) at least I can pay for my PS Vita games, in fact, I bough almost 15 games for the PS Vita last year in PSN, and I'm planning on buying my PS Vita during december :'D
I can't speak for anyone but myself, but for me you accomplished your goal. I was wanting to know why I should, and also why I shouldn't buy the Vita and you have helped me to make up my mind. The games look worth it, and I love the design of the console. As a gamer who LOVES handhelds you have actually peaked my interest in the system, and for that I thank you. The price, availability and my lack of any real interest in DLC ( I have a modded PSP with the entire NES library along with a bunch of old retro games; good enough for me), however, make me still want to sit back and wait for a deal to come my way, and I have you to thank for pointing that out as well.
The work you put into your videos really shows man, and I just want to say I appreciate your putting these out there for the world to see. I'm a new subscriber, but it looks like I'll be around for a good little while :)
I love the vita but it's getting hard to find good games in the middle of all this new anime garbage games Altus keeps releasing. Don't get me wrong I love anime but these half assed text novels are not games.

I LOVE Rougelike games, and for me, being able to play Spelunky, The Binding of Isaac, Nuclear Throne, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Risk of Rain, and Rogue Legacy on the go is more than enough to make me love the system and constantly coming back for more. And, while there aren't many big exclusive titles on the Vita, the few it does have (such as Tearaway) have been some of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had.

I picked up my Vita mostly for Persona 4 Dancing all night, but I was also hoping to score Persona 4 Golden, and I was really happy when I was chatting to a guy in a local EB and mentioned I was after it, and he'd JUSt gotten a copy in as a trade in and sold it to me.
That was a good day :)
My sister keeps going on about the Dangonronpa(sp?) series so I'll have to look into getting those soon.
I was going to get one until I realised they removed RUclips, Maps and NEAR. Also I saw an article saying that soon online features would be dead. I'm incredibly sad.

There's the cross save feature for some games like Dragon's Crown too. If you own it on both PS3/PS4 and Vita, you can use the same save file. Also, most of the releases for Vita are the definitive versions of the game, which include all of the previously released DLC
i own PS4 and PSvita, i spent almost of my gaming time on PSvita, Trail of Cold Steel series is another one of my recommend for PSvita, that game is amazing and capable of what PSvita can do.
laginw I also have PS4 and a Vita + other Systems and I can't always play with them 'coz there are so many Games I didn't played yet.
I got the PS Vita about a year after launch - found it for about £125 on eBay with a few games (which I think was a steal at the time). Haven't regretted it for a moment.
Some of my favoutite games for it (that were not mentioned in this video) include:
Army Corps of Hell
Child of Light (for collectors, the Vita is the only platform that got a true physical copy - the PS3 and PS4 got physical download codes)
Wipeout 2048
Rayman Legends and Rayman Origins (they got home console releases too, but they are excellent on the go)
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth (it got a PS4 release as well, and the Vita physical version is a bit rare, only being released in Asia. Regardless, it's a great JRPG which is brilliant on a handheld)

Don't know how you guys manage to neatly organize such a nice library. I more or less stopped buying CDs and cartridges since the SNES era as I lose a cartridge or 2 every other week...
The free PSPlus games and Ys: Memories of Celceta are what made me purchase the Vita in the first place.
I've also logged some hours with Dengeki Bunko Fight Climax, Earth Defense Force 2, and Freedom Wars. I find that I take more Vita games to completion than I do on the 3DS.
But now I'm working on Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Next, I might pick up the Danganronpa series.
My Vita is my Go-To for entertainment on my long daily bus rides.
I enjoy the PS Vita myself. Picked it up for $75.00. My personally favorite game to play on the road is Minecraft. Have a lot of other games on there, but Minecraft just works really well on the system. Great video.
I sold my Vita about 2 years of having it, and then began to regret it. I only sold it to get a 3ds so i could continue the Monster Hunter Series, but i ended up getting one from my grandma instead, and now i only really play one game on it, and i played so many games on the Vita and I really do miss it and am considering getting the 2000. It was a very fun system and i was able to do so much more with it, it was like a cell phone to me.

I got a PSTV super cheap the other day and after playing a few games on it, I do find myself wishing I could play them on the go. Now knowing a bunch of games that I'd love to play on it, I'll probably end up picking one up. The only thing that worries me is the memory card prices
Finding the games for Vita is easy! Local stores have next to nothing on the shelf but Amazon has yet to fail me for what I've been looking for!

ANYWAY, I LOVE my vita. I'm a big RPG, Hack n Slash, FPS type of gamer, currently cycling through Borderlands 2, Odin Sphere, and Code:Realize. Having it has gotten me to learn Japanese because they system isn't region locked, so we can play the awesome library of games that Japan has to offer. I've had this with me more than my 3DS.
Im such a vita fan boy its really a shame people (outside of Japan) aren't able to try it out.

I held off on buying a Vita until this past Christmas when it went on sale on amazon. Oddly I ended up jumping into buying it because Amazon also sold the collectors editions for Persona 4 Dancing All Night and, Persona Q, which were my intros to the series as well. I've loved it since, I even got a PS Vita TV so that I can just pop out my memory cards and put them into that when I feel like playing them on my tv. It's a nifty little system, the remote play functions are fairly interesting on both the Vita TV and the Vita itself. No regrets with buying this console, it's fantastic, overall I love my 3ds more but a vita is definitely worth buying for the ports of PS3 HD Upgraded games, as well as all the digital games of the PSP and Vita. One of my favourite things is playing things like Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max for the PSP on my tv with a regular controller.
1 more day until 2018, I just bought my ps vita and it is on it's way to me. Haha I just LOVE vita, and there are some new games coming out!! Exciteddddd! Happy New Year!!
I really want to get a Vita but I cannot find them new anywhere in the UK, the second hand ones I can find are always battered too. I might get a 3DS first and a Vita later down the line.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that you can remotely access both the PS3 & PS4 using your Vita so even if the game isn't on the Vita itself, there are titles (and I haven't done extensive research on how many exactly) that you can play remotely.
That aside, if you like Persona 4 I highly recommend picking up The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (1 & 2) as it's a game in a much similar vein (I say they're visual novels crossed with RPGs).
