    Your descriptions and explanations are comprehensive. If she was wearing a more form-fitting top it would be even better because one could see the structures you discuss, and placement of ball, etc.

    Stiff external rotators and posterior capsule contributing to "subacromial impingement"... consider that next time someone recommends an injection or surgery for should pain.

    Thank you very much for this. I have similar shoulder pain. Couldn't do the arms over head when laying on my back. After a few minutes with the ball, like you demonstrated. I reached the floor! I'll be impressing my CrossFit coach tomorrow!

      You're probably loading your biceps tendon and not centering your shoulder if you feel anterior shoulder pain with pressing, especially with horizontal pressing.

      @@Scrat455 yup it’s only horizontal pressing (incline presses are fine). Any resources you can link on how to better centralize the shoulder? TIA 🙏

      @@jawzzy3 I'm a chiropractor and some of us do training with Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), from the Prague school of rehabilitation. Try to find a chiro or a PT that has training in DNS near you and they can work through all of it with you. Sometimes it's an easy fix but oftentimes you aren't keeping the humerus centrated in the joint while pressing. In English, the muscle that should hold your arm bone in your shoulder socket are sloppy, so the incorrect muscles are being loaded and thats why you feel pain. Assessing which muscles aren't doing their jobs must be done in person with a practitioner that knows what they are doing :D.Here is a link to DNS website www.rehabps.com/REHABILITATION/Home.html
