It is a good practice to heat the boots with a hairdryer after applying the balm to melt it into the leather. Rub it in well by hand while the leather is still warm.
Hey Brad, could you tell me: what happens when you over condition your boots? those boots kick ass! got some nice italians myself, no way to pull of a cowboy boot in germany, i think
I have a pair of Justin Bay Gaucho's because they have a rubber heel and are USA made, and just the thought of the leather sole on those Chisos makes my back hurt.
I know you didn't ask. But I am a vegetarian, but when I was running marathons, I would buy a pair of cowboy boots each one I finished. Thinking something had to die for my effort. And was a vegetarian when I was a butchers apprentice when I was younger. Cooked meat for every party i had and woman that I was married or dated. Then got older and bought leather to protect myself while riding my motorcycles. Anyway, with much research, found a product called Leather Honey, Leather conditioner and cleaner. Expensive, but the best I have found and used. Just my two cents. I believe that I am a vegetarian, and that works for me, but it's not for everyone. If stuff hits the fan, I will eat anything with muscles. Yes, even you! Lol

Those boots now look like they're made for walkin'! (For another 6 months).

Thanks for watching! Too much conditioner could actually cause the leather to rot.
Army trick! For a mirror shine use a pantyhose from your better half for buffing. Asking first is the best way to avoid nosebleeds.
Good tip!
I assume the spray bottle was full of water, and not say, isopropyl?
Do you condition the underside leather sole at anytime?
Yes, water. I may condition the soles every once in a while if they seem particularly dry. Thanks for watching!

The Chisos are super comfortable. They have a leather-covered gel insert inside and a thick rubber heel.
