- My first play though was played on the hardest difficulty at the time (twilight). The game has its moments when you do feel challenged despite being appropriately leveled. However, there multiple instances where Rose of the Ronin felt too easy.
This quickly changed upon completing the main story game as you unlock a brand new difficulty : Midnight. Nothing truly prepares you for the difficulty spike : The enemies are more aggressive, hit harder but also, New enemies can appear throughout the map. In some rare occasions, you could even encounter previous bosses, except they have new moves and are out to get you.
This is truly when Rise of the Ronin is at its Best.

Anybody that says the combat in this game is rubbish either hasn't played it or can't do it. This game has the best combat out of any open world games i've played. It's ace.
Yup easy way to tell if they really played it or not. Team Ninja are god tier at 3rd person action combat. Game is an absolute blast.

Combat sucks ass, the only reason this looks good was because you leveled up far enough to unlock skills that complete the combat.

@@GodFist215I believe it’s something with the software and capture, and also the world told on themselves playing on 5+ year old TV’s/monitors it’s only gonna capture what is being put out, no hdmi 2.1, no vrr, no allm etc. they really don’t know how anything looks for real.

Midnight is an extension of NG+ at first it was a challenge but once you learn the mechanics and the feel of the game it’s pretty enjoyable

I’ve seen a lot you make the combat look so nice. Plus I’ve seen some cool flashy moves that I’m all about. Makes me wanna get the game now! Always saw people saying the combat was horrible but I beg to differ
This game goes HARD!!!... I have 70+ hours on and I haven't finished the campaigns but I'm on the last map.. just doing absolutely EVERYTHING before I restart
Wo Long also had an issue with being too easy on the first playthrough. I'd rather Team Ninja tone down their cluttered loot systems rather than making their games easier.

Did you know you can hold block and still counter spark. It makes it a bit easier.
Yeah the parry is broken, only thing ruining this game for me atm.
(Like it’s not totally broken, but fighting some bosses is honestly just aggravating. Doesn’t matter how good you are, some attacks are just impossible to parry a lot 😂😂 really hope they update and polish countersparks)
it feels glitched when im completing a combo but still taking damages by an opponent still swinging his weapon. for a stronger opponent, i use bayonet with a french training to hit and run until i defeat him bc it has unlimited ammo lol
parry is quite different between weapons, be like our boy Djisso and give Oxtail a "whirl". It lets you straight up keep attacking and still press parry, or use parry in combos. But I had to move it from Triangle to L1 to get it going. That and start big brawls in town with the police and keep messing around ~ Oxtail! 🐂
The Oaxtail blade is in my opinion the best weapon to have & to upgrade. I completed the game with it with the Odachi

The graphics are pretty bad but all the videos I’ve seen they don’t disappoint very good combat. And thanks team ninja for never letting us down with the fun we have in your games.

I can’t say it’s better than nioh2 in terms of depth of combat, but it’s definitely better than wo long. It’s worth playing. Btw if you think it’s worse than ghost of tsushima, then it’s too difficult for you, don’t buy it

To me after wathing gameplay, not even experiencing it, it looks stright best element of this game, cuz it ment to focus on combat, when Nioh meets Ninja Gaiden to deliver combat experience more fleshed out. Great combos and playstyle BTW!

On midnight difficulty I feel like the parry timing is a little weird because i counterspark right before the enemy is going to hit but its too late and then I try to adapt my parry and it’s too early
The parry window is very small on midnight difficulty
it just bosses combo are too broken , they do like 30 hits combo then after 3 seconds they do another 30 hit combo
Exactly… then you get like 3-5 hits off before they hyper armor through you AND don’t let you parry 🤣🤣 ugh that’s the only thing ruining this game for me… I literally just matchmake on harder mission now because the bosses are too aids to fight alone

It's not bad at all. Just has a steep learning curve. Im 30 hrs in and know just getting good at it.
I love this game it’s has a mixture of dark souls just without the extreme oversized bosses and if you was to face a foe such as that caliber this game offers coop ontop of you having alies with you this game can prepare a new player who’s new to dark souls movement gameplay to play Elden ring etc etc and also this game is highly underrated the decision making to the fighting styles I wished IGN gave it an 9 at the least rather then a 7 I’m hoping for the Add ons in the future

Many reviewers are crooked. They are liars. This game is incredibly fun and exciting. Its combat is deep and profound.
Straight up. This is TNs open world combat sandbox. I love it. A lot of reviewers dont seem to understand the combat is the draw of the game and judge its other aspects harshly. Fights are so tense and exciting. Plus youre basically a samurai ninja for hire.
They butchered this game so that Dragons Dogma 2 can have more players as prioritised game.

Got the game couple of days ago , the combat is really fun and designed very well. Just think of it as a Assassins creeed game that came out 2/3 years ago.. maybe 4 years ago... 😂 . Game still looks good when you immerse yourself in the open world. Dont compare it to other games graphically , enjoy its uniqueness with its bosses and gameplay. A lot of failed top graphics games out there which offer emptyness and nothing....
Assassin's Creed never had good combat tho

One of them the kihetsi style just raise your bond with takasugi to level 4 to reach master. The other 2 i havent found yet

It's janky and could use a lot of polishing, but all that aside the combat is fun and feels better than Nioh

It was never supposed to be a ghost of tsushima or Red dead 2.

In the makeup section of the customization. There are motifs that you can apply. Fun fact: you can re-model your character endlessly throughout the game once you've opened your house.

@@Djisso i agree, but i think it makes up for the lack of Nioh's tight samurai mechanics with more arcade old school Ninja Gaiden mechanics, especially more obvious when using shinobi builds. I do somewhat prefer that it is not strictly following Nioh's more Souls-like system.
My main problem with parry is that it significantly nerfs the more interesting part of the gameplay which is just the combat mechanic (Ninja Gaiden + Nioh inspired imo). And it encourages a playstyle that is too rhythm based like Sekiro rather than the old school Team Ninja character action feel

Combat was great and depth for sure but the animations, sound design, particle effects, weight, impact seems meh
The sound feels hella nice when you get that spark and they’re off their feet, unsure what you’re rlly saying about weight when it literally pushes them back for the said parry. Animation is super flashy and clean idk what’s meh about that lol

@@mosswine5417 i prefer team ninja’s with the top, flashy and anime like types of moves. In none of the fromsoft games am I unsheathing my sword and creating echoes/shadows of myself to then resheathe my sword with multiple slashes.

I played got before rise came out bc I was wanting a samurai open world game but even though ghost has way better art direction it doesn’t have me wanting to play the game nonstop unlike rise does
