This lady is absolutely hilarious. I watched for entertainment value alone. But also, she gives great reviews and watching this helped me decide which processor to buy.
Thank you Amy Learns To Cook for taking the time to review, comment and compare these products. Very thorough and very much appreciated. I'm a Cuisinart girl (but open minded to other options) and just ordered my Cuisinart mini-chopper but if that does not work out, I"m going to return it and buy the Kitchen Aid one. You are awesome!!! Bet you don't get tired of hearing that. Thank you again for your great videos.
I've had the Ninja Prep for 8 YEARS. It kicks ass! I use it everyday and not one single part or function has failed or even slowed down. With this basic model, you can eliminate the need for a blender, mixer, food processor, mini-chop, juicer, Nutri-bullet, blah blah blah. I tossed them all (including my Cuisinart, the same one shown in this video) and I regained tons of storage space! I keep my Ninja on the countertop where my red KA stand mixer USED TO BE. To be honest I didn't toss that one, I take it out at holidays because I do a lot of baking and I still need my Ninja for daily cooking tasks. As info, I was gifted a Ninja Kitchen System 1100 a few years ago and it's still in the original box. I have no doubt it would be an asset in the kitchen (power base on bottom, more like a traditional blender), but honestly I don't have a need for an upgrade. The 8-year old pulsing POD style that I use daily does everything and I do mean EVERYTHING, and the footprint is small which I prefer that. Not to mention it's ridiculously easy to clean. Whatever Ninja you end up with, it will exceed your expectations.
I absolutely swear by Ninja, I have the multi-cooker (slow cooker) as well as Shark Ninja vac (which means my overpriced Dyson pretty much stays in the closet now) and I couldn't be happier with all my Ninja products. To be clear, this is not a paid endorsement, I just love the brand and want to share my experience.
Thanks for your comment. That's great that Ninja does all you can ask of it and more and save all that counter space.
It is good for 'sambal belacan'
I agree. I use the Masterprep commercially, blew 2 or 3 in 8 years. Got always 1 boxed as a spare, once on sale best bang for the buck, but cleaning of the motor kinda sucks. Got also 5 of the Ninja 4 in 1 slowcooker, best of all. 😉
Do I have to charge it ??
UPDATE: It's 3 years since I left my orig comment. I've been using my Ninja for 11 years now. ELEVEN YEARS! And it's still going strong, with daily use. Ever find a product that's so good it just blows your mind? This is it.
Dear Amy! I am from Russia and i am just watching this review 3 years later. And it’s so helpful! Thank you very much! I’ve ordered the kitchenaid!
Thanks, Amy! That was great. We have had the Kitchenaid Mini food processor for several years and got it for much less than $50 thru QVC. It's been a little workhorse for us and is great for making mayonnaise and salsa. Have had no issues with the "pegs". But we do treat it with kindness as we do with all of our kitchen appliances. Good to know that we have the winner. Love your videos.
Amy, thank you so much for doing this review. I am sending it to friends and cousins. Look forward to all that is coming !
I have the Kitchen Aid 3.5 Cup and just got the 5 Cup. I love both and I think one of the nicest features of the Kitchen Aid is the way you can wind the cord around the bottom to contain it and it's not loose when it's not being used.
This video is awesome! Great humor and super helpful feedback comparing them.
You were funny, thorough, and excellent at communicating the pros and cons of the mini choppers. I give you an A+!! Really enjoyed this. Thank you
Thanks, Jodi!
Thank you so much for your down to earth reviews. I am shopping for a mini chopper just /food processor just helped me tremendously. Being Indian I use onions and cilantro in pretty much everything. Thank you again!😊💖
The Ninja choppers are the best. The Ninja Storm is my favorite. A bit bigger than the one she has here, works about the same. Just love it. Ninjas also come in several colors.
I love the way you live your life - having fun.
Excellent review. Analytical, precise, professional, unbiased, careful, and...:-) entertaining. Thank you!
first time I watched a video of yours. Loved it! You give info with a great sense of humor. will be going through the rest of your videos. thanks.
Thank you so much for this video!! It was extremely helpful. Great video and a lot of details. Thank you
The cuisinart blades rotating in different directions is actually really clever. If you look at spice and coffee grinders the blades are typically blunt because coffee and spices don't need a sharp blade. In fact, they would dull a sharp blade a lot faster than softer ingredients like vegetables. Essentially it is more efficient at both tasks over a long period of time because the sharp side of the blade doesn't come into unnecessary contact with ingredients that would dull it. If you really need a dual purpose grinder/chopper and you're on a tight budget it's probably a good way to go.
Personally, I'll probably be getting the 5 cup version of the Ktchenaid since it has the drizzle basin and comes with a whisking attachment as well as the chopping blade. Basically it gives the option of mixing things without breaking down ingredients that you might want to keep for texture reasons.
Thank you so much for this video! It was extremely helpful.
Amy is very professional and very honest in her views and functional capacity of products. just love her honest opinion !
I have had the Ninja in black for years and I love it; it came with 3 different bases - large (like a blender), medium, and small (as in your demo model). Does everything I need and replaced both my big heavy blender and food processor.👍
You overfilled the ninja with the parsley, but loved the video
You almost always have to open up food processors and use a spatula to push down particles off the sides for it to process everything. I agree that the parsley got caught in the lid of Ninja. As for the dressing, I'll bet the Ninja would have emulsified it all just fine without adding the vinegar in parts--it's not like mayonnaise. The mustard would have been enough. My Ninja chopper came as a set with the larger pitcher which would allow drizzling through the pour spout.
Funny, entertaining, and exactly the info I needed. Thank you!!
Thanks for posting this review. For my needs, the Ninja will serve my purposes just fine.
The Ninja did surprisingly good.
I was going to buy the Cuisinart, but this video persuaded me to get the Kitchen Aid. Thank you.
Great review, thanks to this one, I decided to go for the kitchenAid instead of the Cuisinart.
Thank you for these comparisons. You helped me make a decision with a purchase.
love this video - really hilarious. Great revews of all the machines and very fair testing 🙂
That was great! Thank you. Im looking for a chopper, but like people's reviews online before buying/investing. Note: The KitchenAid is meant to be pulsed with the thumb, in order to get that grab feel of holding a mug ect.
I know I’m late to the party but thank you so much for doing this video. I’m searching for a good food processor & you did a marvelous job showing me the differences between the ones I was interested in; you did all my homework for me! 😉. Thank you!
I pretty much hold the buttons down and
dont pulse, so not sure a fair test with some. Always love your videos
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, there's really no wrong way (pulse or hold button down), unless you do it too much and make soup (when you're not trying to make soup). The thing Amy was showing and explained is that each chopper is different. The Ninja had four blades and only needed a little chopping to get the job done, where the others only had two blades and needed more time. These tests were designed to test the machines. Everyone's results will be different based on what they are chopping and how much chopping they want to do.
I absolutely love the Kitchenaid!!!
Great review, thanks so much! I definitely know to order the kitchenaid now. I hope it's good for nut butters and hummus as well.
Came back just for the dressing recipe :)
Thanks for posting this review. For my needs, the Ninja will serve my purposes just fine.
Very helpful info. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching Sandra!
👍 great video thanks for helping me make my decision on chopper.
Thanks for the review. I have an old Cuisinart mini prep and it leaks whenever I make vinaigrettes so I was specifically looking for a new small processor that doesn't leak!
I have that exact Kitchenaid mini chopper. I bought it last year and I don't think it's changed much since 2017 because it looks the same and this is the first time I'm seeing this video. Amy is correct when she said she is worried about the top breaking because that's exactly what mine did after a few uses. It started with a crack that only got worst!
I love this video so much because of your personality!
thank you so much chef amy!!! i was looking at the mini ninja and found your review here. its exactly what i wanted. great, great job thx again.
ps - i used to have a mini cuisinart processor and i remember the problems it had with the low blade on some items like onions, otherwise i liked it ok.
the ninja has a worrisome high blade, but it seems to get around that by tossing the food up to the higher blades pretty well.
thats my take for now, i will report back when i choose a mini, get one and try it out.
I just bought the Ninja last week at Walmart for their regular price of 13.00! I really was sceptical for something so inexpensive but I Love it! I've chopped garlic, onions, carrots and pecans and they all worked great! Just found your channel and love it!
Wow...lucky you...our Walmart doesn't carry it in store anymore...when they did it was $19.00 & up from there. I have 4 of this model(I lost tops...I had all others in this review & use it all the time. Now I realize that some coffee can tops can be substituted & hole cut...live & learn.. * Oh...things like parsley do not work as wonderfully as Amy shows......but testing with portions helps. I have never ever had problem with the Nina... used sometimes 3x day for mom in Hospice...had to puree all steamed veggies.. Super good feeling knowing the nutrition available with its use. :) Great gift to give !
My local Wal-Mart sells it for $19. You got a great deal!! It worked really well. This test was fun! Thanks for watching!
Amy, I'll give you an A+ for your personality!!! I didn't expect the funny part when I clicked on your clip but I really enjoy watching the review :). A+
I agree. I have the Kitchenaid and it does a great job of chopping things thoroughly without pulverizing. I got it on sale at Macys for $39.00.
I got my kitchenaid from Walmart and I absolutely love it🤗
The best review ever! Thanks!
Thanks, Amy. Kinda long, but I'm glad I had the time to watch.
You are great. Thanks for this video. I am shopping for mini chopper and your video is very detailed. 👌
You have such a fun personality! Had fun watching your video!
Thanks for this great review, so helpful!
So glad you're testing mini-choppers! I've been wanting one for a long time, but didn't know which one was the best!
whihc one did you get, was thinking of nija
Love your review videos!!
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Loved the video.. entertaining and informative ..Thanks Amy! I subscribed!
Thanks for watching, Lisa!!!
Houston! Houston! We got a problem! WE GOT A PROBLEM! LMAO!
Great reviews Amy. Enjoyed watching!
Thanks for watching. Yeah Amy was shocked/panicking over the leakage. Funny for sure.
that was a serious problem too with the crazy leaking what a mess no thanks.
Thanks Amy! Helpful stuff :)
very helpful video, was going to buy a ninja chopper based on recommendation from other website, but after watching this video I went with kitchenaid.
Loved the information and y'all's video cracked me up! Now I have an idea of what chopper to buy. You and Eric always have so much fun.
Thank you for watching. Glad you liked it. yeah, we had fun. Amy ate some of those Oreos and had a pink tongue too. That's what inspired the ending. :-)
You are hilarious! Thanks for the review; this is very helpful!
Just wanted to let you know that, thanks to you, I now have the perfect chopper for me - the Ninja Express. I have been looking for a chopper/blender, something, that makes hummus without having to constantly open up the container to push the ingredients back into the middle. The Ninja handles it and frozen fruits into a sorbet quickly and with no fuss. It goes together so easily. The only issue is that the top needs to be held as it does not lock as I discovered when I started it and the top started to spin off. Thank you!
Awesome! I am glad that you are liking the Ninja. It is a nice little chopper at a really nice price! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for taking your time to do this video, Im on the hunt for a mini chopper, so this helped :)
Ninja is far less trouble to put together, use and much easier to clean than the other ones...and when you close the little lid you can even store your food in it. I'm actually a big Kitchen Aid girl but having both the traditional mini chopper and the little Ninja....I much prefer the Ninja. Not to mention it is also one of the cheapest.
Very informative. Enjoying your videos.
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you!! I learned to make dressing!! I came here to evaluate the Kitchenaid...
Yeah!!!!
This video is the best review👍
Thanks for a grate review..... went for the kitchen aid....
Good lord. If people would watch and learn, The Worlds hate would end. The love of good food. Love the videos : ) Thanks
Oyster lol, thank you so much for a very thorough review/comparison. I enjoy your humor - especially compared to all the others. For what I need one of these for though, I'm kinda liking that lil Ninja guy! :-)
Thank you Amy!
Great review! Thank you!
Thanks for this video, it was so informative! I didn't know which one to buy and now I do. Also, I saw the KA in a store yesterday and it was marked at $79.99. I now know I won't buy it there. Thanks again! :)
Well, this was great and i was goingwith the Cuisinart but had to bite the bullet and get Kitchenaid. More expensive but looks like its worth it. Wow, you did a great job.
Came back just for the dressing recipe :)
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. We marinated some chicken breasts in this dressing for several hours and then grilled them with some BBQ spices. Very tasty!
Love your upbeat attitude and quirkiness!
Thanks for watching Lynn! I really appreciate it!
thank you for this video!!! i appreciate your time
Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much for this video! I bought the ninja one 😊😊😊
My old mini Cuisinart gave up the ghost and it looks like it'll be the Kitchenaid. I I'll take another quick look at the new Sandor (?). The one with the continuous feed feature. I can't live without a mini chopper, I used the heck out of the Cuisinart for several years. Thanks as always for your help testing out these gadgets.
We bought a mini Kitchenaid food processor since the blade locks in place and the handle isn't a pain to clean like a Hamilton is based on reviews. Can't wait to try it! Surprising that these mini's are the same price as their bigger counterparts right now. Considered a big one but don't have the space.
I got the Ninja for $11 at bargain hunt. I have ninja machines and really don't need this however i couldn't resist the price. When I got home I chopped garlic, onions, cabbage, carrots and fruits. Amazing little machine
I agree with you. Just be careful when cleaning it. Kinda sharp.
Eric Learns to Cook ... yea I know!!
I got a lot of information from you .Thank you for shares.
Thanks for watching Sophia!
Excellent ~ thank you very much! I made my decision. I trust your reviews above American test kitchen. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for the info now I know which one to get
Loved the episode! I did notice two things: (1) though you had reservations about the Kitchenaid's button there on the top, it gave you more control. Especially when you poured in the oil. With your thumb on the botton, it was like you were holding a measuring cup and pouring the oil in-more natural. You clearly had less control when pressing your forefinger to a button at the bottom of the machine while pouring in the oil. So, props to Kitchenaid for that design. (2) You used the Kitchenaid mini-PROCESSOR. There is a Kitchenaid mini-CHOPPER. It is the same price but has a domed lid, no pouring spout and instead of the chop-puree being a leaver on the side, the top button is split and you can press on chop-puree with your thumb. I wonder if it would have altered the contest at all if you'd used the Kitchenaid mini-CHOPPER instead of the mini-processor?
+moonwalk1031 I have both from KA...this one and the old style. They are pretty much the same because they both only include the chopping blade. If it was really a mini food processor, it would have other blades. KA is just being funny with the name. I just didn't include the older one because I figured people wouldn't want to see two KA in the same video. Thanks for watching!
I’m 11 and I saved up 50$ and bought the kitchen aid today
Awesome! I hope you like it!
Fair play to you. I’m 28 and I only just started using these.
parker144 i wish I started cooking so young.
I wish I was 11 again!!... and I wish I had $50 now!!! :o)
I just returned mine when I did the onion even though I had it on chopping it did it like pudding very tiny watery like
That was awesome Amy, I had to watch all the way though, to see which one was the winner, cause I was holding up my Kitchen Aid, which I got for myself a month ago, and not knowing which to buy, and that’s what it was, that picked, 🙏🏼 thank you 😊 so much
On some things-like the onions-I don't always want it to be chopped so small/fine. In fact, it would be nice to find one that actually 'chops' when you want it to, and pulverizes when you want it to, but uniformity would be nice no matter what you are chopping
That's the problem with a lot of these. You can pulse and that helps, but many of them still chop unevenly.
my old cheap black and decker does that. Looking to replace it now after 5 years.
Very helpfull presentation. Can it also for minced meat? Which one is better kitchenaid mini or magimix? Txs
Muy buen video te agradezco la explicación.
I have a cuisinart same problem with some big pieces but I learned how to use the oil spout, I have never used it..""thanks Amy
Yaaaay! Metaphysical thank you! ~ @PsychicSuesie
On the Cuisinart, the reason for the blade reversing is the sharp side (chop) is for herbs and soft vegetables and the reverse (grind) uses the duller side of the blade is for nuts and harder items. It does this to extend the blade life.
My blade is fine but the plastic that holds the blade broke. I'm shopping for something different. No more Cuisinart for me.
Best review on RUclips, love your sense of humor! I like the KitchenAid as well but my concern is that plastic ring that acts as the switch...if that thing breaks like you mentioned, then what? I'd go with the Cuisinart. Thanks Amy!
I have the Cuisinart and use it infrequently. Maybe 10 times a year. After 5 years, my blade broke and a replacement is almost $30. ☹
I wish you would've tested the "Black & Decker." I had my Black & Decker mini-chopper for more than 20yrs and when I finally decided to get me a new one, mind you the Black & Decker was still working fine, I opted for the Ninja and just this week, this is the reason why I'm watching this video, it gave up on me. The Ninja I would say lasted for about 5yrs. I think I'm going back to Black & Decker. And Yes, I do use my chopper regularly. Thanks for testing these out for us.
Thank you for your video.
I one to get one .
And happy New year.
I have the older version of the KitchenAid mini chopper, and it has never let me down. Very faithful, and it does everything I would expect. I see what appears to be a Cuisinart Elemental 13 food processor in the background on your counter, Amy. Are you gonna review it?
Houston, we have a problem.....Another test and review? LOL!!!!
So helpful!
thank you for the video!
Hi Amy and Eric!!! Im trying to catch up 9n your videos since finding you both. I have a mini chopper i used to chop Graham crackers. I havent used it in years and forgot what kind it is. I better go find it. Great video. Your so funny Amy!!! A fan and friend. DiDi
super entertaining and informative! new subscriber :))
Not as sientific as some BUT really good as it's based on real life - cooks feeling. Keep it up I really enjoyed. Thank you.
sorry for spelling scientific !
love your video, so funny and you are so on point at judging....A plus
Thanks!
Amy, thanks so much for this review. All of your videos are so helpful. On the basis of your testing, I bought the Kitchenaid Mini processor some time ago, and I absolutely love it. No problems with the pegs on the lid, so far.
Thank you for this video!
Thanks for watching, Msmaxisings!
I like the Ninja, I have the Ninja blender and love their blade system
Thanks for the review. FYI, it looks like the large bunch of unchopped parsley in the ninja was actually caught between the cup and the lid. Maybe why it didn't get processed?
Yeah, she overfilled it
i have a ninja, and sometimes the lightweight juicy items will stick to the sides. but i love my ninja.
