I think that it is not because the Rashid. People in the update received bigger potions which made better survability. Eventually new blessings appeared and death punishment decreased. Without these people would die more often and need to spend the money for recover. I think after that point new "level cap" could be reached, but it was very difficult/impossible without those amendments and personally I think that destroyed some of the atmosphere of the game.
