I took the level 1 NCRC training class last year in Virginia. Great class and very educational. We did a lot of in cave exercises that really helped understand how a search and rescue operation works. Highly recommended! Did you guys get the Sked through the culvert pipe at the entrance?
We ran out of time before reaching the entrance. Too bad, because that would have been fun for both the patient and the haul team. They were setup and ready to go though.
I just did the OCR training in southern Indiana this weekend. Wonderful, professional and totally worth it. The NCRC instructors are the best! I have a new and even greater respect for the work cave rescuers do and the level of effort involved with hauling a patient on a litter thru a cave. Every serious caver should take this class, it's in all of our best interests!!
I'd like to do more videos on cave rescue techniques, and especially small party assisted rescue (SPAR), but it's not really my area of expertise. Maybe I'll talk to some of my NCRC instructor friends to see about a collaboration. A hands-on class would be far superior to an instructional video though.
I guess I failed to close the loop on patient #3. Carl was found near the stream passage with a broken arm and hypothermia. After rewarming him and getting him some food, then splinting his arm, he was able to walk out with assistance. Everyone is feeling much better today. Their recovery was nothing short of miraculous.

I went to an OCR hosted in Utah. Worth it!
Good to see that Bitey is back and involved after the trauma he went through at the last week-long.

I agree with you about the class.
Videos have an additional aspect and make the content better remembered.
Good luck
Did the third missing caver die?
