Thanks Mike! I often think back on our Groaning Cave trip. Many of my favorite adventures were with you. I miss that.

Wind cave is no joke. This cave is absolutely massive. I believe it's around a 150 mile cave system

167 miles, and growing! 6th longest cave in the world at the moment with no end in sight.

Holy cow, that's crazy! I do a lot of caving in Indiana but we have nothing that size. I think binkleys is our largest cave system. Absolutely love your content, Derek!

This is so amazing! I would be terrified going in these caves, but you've given me a bit more confidence in learning to cave thanks to you detailed videos. Also, I love how well edited and put together your videos are. You put so much effort into them and it shows beautifully.

I used to love going to carlsbad caverns in new mexico as a kid, seeing stuff like this is always a delight and reminds me of those trips with my parents walking down the paths in to the cavern and day dreaming what it must of felt like being down there discovering such beauty. Thanks so much for posting this first time viewer, definitely got my sub

    Hi, Bristol
I'm a Chinese student study in Peking University, forgive my poor English, I'm working for my graduation project that is a research about early PC game history. Cave adventure play a significate role in this history, so I need some vivid video about the real situation about those adventures. Your videos are mavelous that can help me a lot, could I use some short clips in my project? I'll mark the original youtube link and your name in my project. Thank you very much, It's my pleasure! Be safe down there !

I've been watching some of your videos and the entire thing is so fascinating (and occasionally to me, terrifying). I notice there are often points where you repel down or climb up pre-anchored sections... who does the climbing to set such anchors? I imagine that takes a really amazing - and specialized - climber?

@ 6:34 Why do you specifically state "past entrance"? I mean I realize that a second current traversable natural entrance would already be known from land surveys but could there be a current entrance too small in that area for people to get through? Were all the rodent skeletons encrusted with calcite indicating they all entered the cave many thousands of years ago indicating that however they came through was long since blocked up? Do you know where the past entrance was exactly? I've always been fascinated with the idea of a second entrance to either Wind or Jewel.

There are some other possible entrances in the area that have been filled in, some of which are very close to continuing resolution (where they were). But I don't think he's referring to anything in particular. The entrances were probably filled in relatively recently (last couple hundred years), and it's fairly likely there are some "entrances" far too small for people to get through

Hey just found your channel while looking up ascender reviews. Not a caver, but a climber and I like how you have the videos labeled on the thumbnail picture
