- Sean Penn is no stranger to movies and been in the actor business for a long while - since 1974 to be exact.
Basically since his childhood.
But not many notable movies under his name.
Perhaps, due to not doing massive blockbusters all the time that one would discover very easily. This movie is such a case for me.
Of course I knew him from Casaulties of War (1989), one of my favourites movies Thin Red Line (1998), 21 Grams (2003) and even "recent" The Gunman (2015) was a very decent movie.
But outside of those, I haven't seen him in much else.
One thing you do notice about Sean immediately though, is that he was a total Chad.
And he was put into those kind of roles specifically for that reason.
I have never seen a better "Chad Walk" in a movie than him, doing it in this one.
I had to laugh out loud, super funny - reminded me of me when having first gains and a small pump coming out of the Gym XD.
I guess I'm sharing this scene (and the movie) for this very reason, he played a Chad and I found it extremely entertaining.
But it is also a gangster movie with Christopher Walken playing his father - one of the main characters to give you another reason of why to watch it.
Nothing spectacular, but worth seeing for sure.
I mean, even in this opening scene as soon as they had the exchange:
"This Kid is an Asshole!"
"Which One?"
"The Big One!"
"That's my Brother..." XD
With a smirk on his face along with his "I'm the man!" posture, I knew I will enjoy it.
Oh, yeah, I threw in extra "Chad Walk" at the end as a bonus.
Who knows, knows,
who doesn't might not get it, but life is full of mysteries, no? ;)
One of the more underrated films of the decade. Walken may have been hosed out of an Oscar nomination.
Chris Walken was fucking terrifying in this movie - he or Sean deserved an Oscar for this movie.
For sure.. agreed. That scene in the kitchen at the end alone was some of the best acting both have ever done.
Hey, at least he didn't get charged or convicted with murder.
@@mikel9248 This. The first time (and last time) I saw that scene it stuck with me indefinitely.
At close range is an amazing
Movie. The movie was very close to the real events too
Sean Penn, Chris Penn. These brothers rarely seem to appear in movies together.
I think that was the only time, no?
The actress who played their grandma in this movie is actually their mother in real life (Eileen Ryan Penn).
Considering Chris died years ago it’s hardly surprising 🤔🤔🤔
That driver was Beansie. Little did he know that a car would be his undoing in the future.
From here on out he’s a shopping cart…
First I put it in drive, then I put it in reverse
You're going to build Beansie a ramp
WOW. Good one!
🛒
Thats the Pittsburgh connect on goodfellas.
Haha, "You wanna see helicopters? I'll show ya helicopters..."
Fun fact: Penn was dating Madonna and she had her personal trainer work with him to get in shape for this part. She could never get him to stop smoking cigarettes though.
I think it was called The Gunman, in that movie, Penn was absolutely jacked, just wonder if he was natural, probably not since he was in his late 40s or 50
There is a lot of truth to this scene.. If you show somebody your crazy they suddenly don't feel so tough anymore..
Filmed in my hometown. Franklin TN. I was there that night and watched the firetrucks hose down the street. This scene was Filmed on the square.
My home town too. Gosh what a small world.
I bet you could get real cheap house back then
Say what you want, but Sean penn was a solid actor back in the 80s. Don’t believe me, go look at taps, falcon and the snowman, pope of Greenwich village.
Bad Boys, State of Grace, Colors. yes he was.
Yall took all my privacy, learned and used it so is fair. A gift that keeps on giving u know it. Worth millions
I grew up watching Sean Penn
since I was a kid in the 80s.
COLORS was a awesome film
when he plays a young wise crack
LAPD officer and yet the dark humor
film "We're No Angels." got me laughing.
For some reason one of my very favorite movies of all time.
This is one of my favorite movies ever. Walken and Penn were excellent. I live in the area that this family actually did this. Madonnas song was perfect for the lake scene.
I like that he knew the Amish would never pick him up.
Sean Penn is 1 of my favorite actors
This movie was based on a TRUE STORY where , long lost dad gets outta jail. He eventually includes his son, penn and the other, half brother, chris penn to join his crew and pull a lotta crimes....then things go terrably wrong..
Great movie, but a tough real life lesson..
Good movie, intense. 😮
Take me back to the 80's
5….
5 dollar…
5 dollar footlong.
Crazy character study
@christopherseat9871 not really this is a true story.
Great movie
at 1:38. That looks like the exact same clock tower building on back to the future.
You're the second person to mention that, but unconfirmed.
Someone did mention though the filming location.
Scary movie. Walken is a psycho here.
This is before he was diagnosed withTDS
The whole country has it now...everybody do tired of the old fool😂😂😂
Agreed
What's TDS :)?

Trump derangement syndrome....just one of the side effects of the orange fool...🤣
@@pibmovieclips truuump derangement syndrome
This movie is based on a true crime story out of Pennsylvania..
He's a shopping cart, from here on out...
Hey bud lets party huhuhuh lol
Id luv to go toe to toe w/Penn.
He needs a good humbling
XD ; I mean, his job is to play Chad, god know what he is like in real life?
@@pibmovieclips
He's mostly a dick
in real life, also !
I have friends
in high places...
I can't believe Beansie did that to those kids. I mean Ritchie give him an a job to do in Pennsylvania and this is what he does? SMH
Beansie never had any balls.
Of all the boys she could've fallen in love with
Holy shit is that Beansie?
"Veal parmesan sandwich. Fuck you."
$5.00 ....and an interesting movie.
Robin - I had a child. It wasn't my I idea. ....it's how they feel how they can steal. ...
Chris Penn really let himself go in life.
My kind of Car
Unfortunately that is G rated crazy now a days
Who is Beansie?
Watch sopranos...
I didn't know either :D
Now i know :); thx!
Is that the same set Back to the future used?
It looks familiar now that you mentioned it! But I'm pretty sure that in both cases it was a real location - could be the same one though.
I was thinking My Cousin Vinny was going to pull up at any minute.
Filmed in Franklin and Columbia Tennessee
Was Zack Hample in the scene
Who is that?
But no, he's not listed on the actors' list.
I can see why this movie flopped.
It never exactly flopped
It’s a great movie
True story dude
Acting between penn and walken was really good
One of the few Madonna songs I actually liked.
Must be feom Ewa Beach
What is the music band at the end of the video please?
It’s a musical cut from Madonna’s “Live To Tell”, the movie’s theme song. Madonna and Sean Penn were married at the time.
