In this video, I will be discussing about various "Antibiotic Prophylaxis Regimens" recommended by American Heart Association (AHA) meant to prevent Bacterial Endocarditis.
Hi Rashmika, as i mentioned in the video, cefazolin can be administered either through IM or IV route, whereas cefalexin and cefadroxil can be administered through oral route in patients allergic to penicillin.
Though both penicillin and cephalosporins are beta lactam antibiotics , only 10% show cross allergenicity. Plus parenteral drugs show more allergic response. Oral medications are less allergic and can be given in rest 90% of patients.

Each newer generation of cephalosporins has significantly broader gram-negative antimicrobial spectrum than the preceding generation, and in most cases decreased activity against gram-positive organisms. Fourth generation cephalosporins, however, have true broad spectrum activity.
All antibiotics you mentioned here are not liver safe... you should have told about this aspect as well.. fluoroquinolones like levo etc can be prescribed as liver safe medicine post operative.

In case of allergic to penicillins cephalosporins should not be given because 25% of those allergic to penicillins are also alleric to cephalosporins.
