Hawaii Fly by with DJI Inspire 3

I've been filming with the Inspire 3 for the last month and it truly is the next evolution or aerial photography and an incredible 8K aerial cinema camera.

My initial big take aways with this drone:
- Being able to film in native ISO 4000 in low light was huge.
- Love the ability to tilt up and not see the propellors at all.
- Never been able to have such incredible range with a drone before without loosing any connection.
- The image is sooooo clean, and just as comparable to other cinema cameras we use.
Super thanks to the Polynesian Cultural Center for providing all the incredible talent/dancers. It's an incredible tourist location on Oahu where you can truly experience the heart and soul of Polynesia. They also provided half of the locations which you can experience as a tourist as well. Huge thanks to Kualoa Ranch. All the big open shots in the valley were captured at that location.
A ton of my all time favorite movies/tv shows have been filmed at Kualoa as well, including Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Jumanji: Into The Jungle, Kong: Skull Island, and the TV show Lost.
Kualoa is open to the public, for movie tours, ATV rides, horseback riding, sail boating, etc. It is also a nature preserve. To find out more about this incredible place on the island of Oahu, click the link below:

I love the new DJI Inspire 3! Being able to fly and capture 8K at Dual ISO 800 and 4000 is huge for us. Massive thanks the the Polynesian Culture Center on Oahu and Kualoa Ranch for providing all the incredible talent and locations to also make this happen!

Thank you Zane! And yeah, zero sleep, as you know already how we roll. Haha. Good thing was that despite waking up at 3am most mornings, we would sleep in the day, which we normally don't get that option, but we only wanting to capture this video with magic light :) Thanks again Zane!!

Every country should hire Devin and team to do one of these. I'd watch every single one and then book a trip there. Outstanding!
I don't even want to think about the logistics of that opening shot. It set the mood for the whole video. What a fun video to watch!
We lucked out, there just happened to be a random girl doing Hula at 4:30 in the morning on top of an island :) haha. Readers digest version: Find an incredible hula girl. Schedule everyone to be at the location at 3:30 am. Get a kayak the night before. We all meet at the gate at 3:30am. Have to hike in the kayak and gear a 30 minute walk due to all the gates being closed to the park since it was so early, haha. Then having hula girl and her fiancé kayak to the island in pitch black, with flashlights (which we had the flashlights bought the day before). Hike to the top of the island in the dark. Fiancé and climbs back down the island halfway. We facetime hula girl and walk through the game plan. It's around 30mph wind up where she is with very little room to perform the traditional hula we all had planned so she would have to improvise to do it safely. We practice the drone moves before the sunrises, which we had also done the day before. We are on the main island though, so we talk via phone. We have a 5 minute window to capture the "money shots", so we go like crazy, and then make it all happen :) An intense morning for sure. This is the short version. Haha. A few days after this a tiger shark attacked a kayak 400 meters from here, so I'm very glad it didn't happen this time.

This brings me back to the "New Zealand almost KILLED us!" video that inspired me to Film for a living. I've been so lucky to make a living off of it and provide for a family but am now caught up in all the businessy stuff that I forget that passion that started all of it in the first place. Nature videos, especially ones in the Pacific bring it all back.

Yes, I always go back to these locations, so it was really fun to try and capture it in a brand new way that I haven't yet explored :)
The visuals are obviously stellar but the audio production is phenomenal 🙌
So happy to hear. We recorded so many of the sounds from this on location and spent a full week doing the sound design, and thankfully we had a ton of incredible talent to capture the noises/sound with too.

The thing that people are NOT saying is that in reality, some of those close up shots *would have been filled with the noise of the drone* so you *cannot capture real sound from the same source and at the same time that the footage is being captured*
...so it's ALL dubbed sound which takes away much of the *immediacy* and *realism* of filming 😞😔
It will allow for incredible travelling shots panoramic views.... 👀 But it will *never* be a replacement for *filming without a drone like you do for many shots in movies*
Entirely filming everything with a drone gives you adverts, *NOT, **_Taxi Driver_** .* 🚕🙄👎👎
