  • Simon takes a look at the new Superlight Pyramid Mesh Tent from DD Hammocks.
    You can find the DD Hammocks Superlight Pyramid Mesh Tent here: www.ddhammocks....
    Some basic info on the Pyramid Mesh Tent:
    - Dimensions: L: 200cm, W: 185cm, H:120cm
    - Weight: 565g (excluding pegs) ~575g (including pegs)
    - Comes with: 4x Orange Superlight Pegs
    - Requires: 1x Extendable [Hiking] Pole (not included)
    Useful tip:
    I highly recommend using "Snap-Lock" hiking poles rather than "Twist-Lock" hiking poles (as seen in this video) as they are MUCH easier to secure when being used to hold up a shelter.
    For those whom prefer lightweight equipment, I strongly recommend the Leki Carbon Titanium hiking poles: amzn.to/2fZZH6f

    Great to see you well and back reviewing Simon.
    Look forward to seeing the Part 2 on how it works with the 3x3 tarp.

      Hi Andy,
      That video is now online :)
      Good to be "back" (I'm making the most of the time I have to get some filming done)

    Excellently demonstrated and presented review. The tent looks like just what I’m looking for for this summer. I have two DD 3x3 tarps, one being the Superlight version. Off to watch your other video now of this tent paired with a 3x3. Thanks again! Ben 👍

    Looks like a decent bit of kit. Unsurprising from DD. Just a hint - peg out by going diagonally opposite your first peg with your second.

      Haha... that actually occurred to me after I did it, but the rain was closing in rapidly and I didn't want to start over. It's definitely best to go diagonal, but I did mention at the start that the first peg was just to stop it blowing away. I cut it in editing but I did re-peg the first one after pegging out the 4th, so technically I did diagonal pegging. Just wasn't so obvious in the edit.
      Cheers for the feedback mate :)

    Hi, could a 3 x 3 tarp do a decent job of keeping this waterproof?

    • @PackedToLive
      @PackedToLive  7 лет назад

      Yes... a 3x3 tarp completely covers the pyramid tent, with significant overhang on all sides.
      I actually did a video to answer this very question: ruclips.net/video/3WkubdIlRnU/видео.html :)

    Thanks for the vid!!! quite useful for me!!!! so there is a toggle at the very peak on the outside? could it be guyed up into a tree or a tripod?

    • @PackedToLive
      @PackedToLive  7 лет назад

      Yes, there is a toggle on the exterior peak... and yes it can be guyed up to a tree, a ridgeline, or (assuming you have one large enough to accommodate the mesh tent underneath) a tripod. :)
