♪♪ LYRICS ♪♪
Viens, descendons ensemble.
Doucement glissons; De son flot charmant
Suivons le courant fuyant;
Ah ! descendons ensemble !
Lakmé
Mais, je ne sais quelle crainte subite,
S'empare de moi,
Quand mon père va seul à leur ville maudite;
Je tremble, je tremble d'effroi !
Mallika
Viens, descendons ensemble.
Doucement glissons; De son flot charmant
Suivons le courant fuyant;

I've listened to other artists sing this but Netrebko & Garanca are my favourites.
They put so much feeling into this piece.
Kovas

OMG voice from heaven
This interpretation is divine for me and unbeatable.
Magnifique
Not sure if normal, but when I closed my eyes. They got watery 🥺
Yeah it's normal.
Amazing Garanca
Absolutely beautiful... just beautiful 🌹
Extraordinairement Magnifique ❤️🎵🎙️
Two beautiful flowers, singing a flower duet.
Got me a bit closer to heaven….
Always gives me goosebumps
I worked at the record label when this was released. Elina was always nice and easy to work with. Anna was nice with the bosses, but to the employees she could be a real pain sometimes. To be fair, I had no problems with her. She never spoke to me, and I was not on her team, so I did not care that much. But some of my co-workers were a bit frustrated with her. She was the label's biggest artist and she knew it. She wasnt a jerk or something. Just somewhat of a diva, as you might expect. Elina, in the other side, was not! Most artists on DG at that time were pretty nice and down to earth, with a few exceptions.
Makes you realize stars are human too
@@pinchebruha405 What is that supposed to mean? Because stars are humans makes it ok to ábuse employees? I think not!

This aria is other worldly. And every time I have the sublime delight of listening to it, I remember that humans are capable of beauty. In this time of history, it appears difficult to find.

Thank you for the lyrics! I'm trying to learn this without a background in opera or French so it's very helpful for me to have the captions, audio, visual and translation in one video! Cheers!

I just close my eyes and listen to two ladies sing their guts out
Brilliant
I first heard this beautiful piece on a documentary about Fame narrated by David Frost
It was on the segment about Lady Diana Spencer and the Royal Wedding to Prince Charles - sad the fairytale turned out the way it did
The 1st time I heard this was in an TV advert for British Airways and I've been hooked ever since.
Gorgeous piece of music.
I just found out that I've been confusing this song with the opera in the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" . After having listened to both of them, I realize they are nothing alike 😂😂😂😂😂
RHENJ❣
"the best hamburger in the world"

Magical! I think from Shawshank Redemption, right?
That was Canzonetta sull'aria from Le Nozze di Figaro

came here because of the d'arbo ads
Anyone here from after reading 50 sheds of grey
Sitting and watching this sipping my tea when Putin rains tactical nukes outside. "we are dressed in our best and prepared to go down as gentilemen"
Now if that’s a fact tell me am I lying? Because you, you’re part eggplant. True Romance
who wants to hear where sicilians come from?
Nasality and Voce ingolato destroys the art and beauty of the voice.
