-Jon
I have lived in interior Alaska for 16 years and you truly can not find a more beautiful place.
The alaska range is pretty special!
This is just a fantasy tailwheel camping trip. I am envious.
It's amazing. I don't know how much to get flying license in your country, but definitely much easier than in Russia ( It looks like to drive a car, but in 3d. Nature is impressive! Hopefully I get there one day..
It's an amazing place here in Alaska!
It would be very cool to be able to fly in Russia, probably much like Alaska, but bigger. So vast an area to explore. It would be a bush pilots paradise.
Looks like you set a new standard for your videos putting you in the likes of Trent and Josh...great work!
WOW that short final control jam. I will always remember the Kings talk about load management and how important it is. As I remember they had an off airport landing in which some tools were in the back seat and turned into flying daggers. Another case I remember was a man flying with his dog who managed to jam the controls somehow. In this case you definitely could have been killed by pizza and made your final headlines. Good lesson for everyone now that we fly with so much stuff in the cockpit that could pose an unseen hazard.
With the production of an aviation RUclips video like this, Trent now officially has competition!
Hey Jon, wow what beauty!! Alaska is hard to explain to someone that has never been up there. I was stationed in the Army up on a mountain near Fairbanks for almost 2 years, what an experience that was. We played in the "Midnight Sun Softball Tournament" against Air Force and other Army teams. It's just like it says Midnight Sun, we played one game at Midnight and of course there are no need for lights on the field, it was kinda surreal doing that. We weren't too far from the Arctic Circle and the weather there was lots different than down around Anchorage as you probably know. But anyway thanks for sharing your flights they brought back lots of memories of over 50 years ago when I was there. I'll have to say hasn't changed much, LOL.!! Looking forward to see more of your adventures up in Alaska.
This whole film was fantastic, beautiful views. Thanks for sharing.
This is an amazing video. What a stunning trip! An absolute dream.
Thank you! Its a ton of fun being able to do this type of flying with our students and guests up here!
I flew into Chelatna Lake lodge back in 1989 in my 170 { 5786} on skiis. It had just snowed 30'' and it was a bear getting out of there . My homestead was in Yenlo Mts. {20 miles awy} and was delivering some groceries from Big Lake to the lake. Boy, they built alot more cabins since the 80s and 90s. . Back then everybody knew everybody but in winter there is only 1 person caretaking the property . Later I moved to McGrath and flew outta there. Now, that was a wild place.
Stunning Jon! We fly every where we can with our TR182 RG but nothing would be better than some tailwheel and big wheels up in AK. It is a dream of ours to do one day and stay up at the Ultimathule Lodge. I'll let them do the flying though since I have zero backcountry or tailwheel time....LOL! What an adventurous weekend Jon. Putting this in the top 5 of my bucket list.
This may be your best video yet. Thanks for that.
Thanks for watching! Share it around!
WOW!!!
Such STUNNING views of Alaska.
Thanks! Share the vid around!
Your rockn the Bearhawk brother and underrating yourself, you did excellent! The Patrol's utility strength is far more valuable than winning stol competition's. When my strike comes in at my Gold Claim, I am going to buy every model Bearhawk makes. Good job!
I was lucky enough to work at CLL for Matt & Emily like no other place on the planet can’t wait to get back there!
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another bucket list item!
Come up here and explore! Ak is an amazing place!
FLY8MA.com Flight Training. I have a friend/coworker that use to work on the north slope/Prudhoe Bay and lived in Fairbanks. I live vicariously through him! I have my private SEL & MEL license with an HP endorsement. Would love to spend sometime and fly around up there....in nice weather! LOL! I hope my power ball numbers hit! 😂
Definitely more exciting weekend than mine. Fantastic scenery!
It’s a real pleasure to watch your videos when you’re a flight of two. My wife is my XC navigator/extra eyes in our C182. Maybe the day will come when we fly side-by-side like the days we rode our cruisers CHIP style on interstates and country highways. Keep em coming.
Called Chelatna Lake Lodge home for 5 months! Best summer I ever had!
Very cool! I've never flown but hubby and I are about to start road tripping and camping. Lord willing, it will start next spring!
Have fun!
This footage was incredible! So was the trip!
Awesome weekend. Quality flying.
Thanks 👍 It was a ton of fun! Happy to be able to share it!
Wow, that looks more fun than flying the pattern at Venice! Thanks for your awesome online ground school and written test prep lessons though; nearing the end of my private pilot training now and your courses have been a huge help. Would love to do some back country flying one day!
Thanks for using our ground school courses! Come visit us in Alaska sometime!
Excellent film guys ... thanks. I am planning out my post COVID Alaska trip and love riding along and learning about all the great places to visit.
Come up! We have friends visiting now from the lower 48....it's nice here while it's low volume on the tourists
absolutely amazing!!! I cant wait to be in Alaska again this summer
Great footage. Really awesome story.
Awesome! I want to get into some bush flying too
Come up to alaska and visit us! 57AK
Very well done! Crushed it with the drone footage.
Wow! Awesome footage, professionally delivered 👌
Good Australian time for a post.
Thanks Jon and Steph, great VLOG.
Sorry, can't Alaska this summer, Government lockdowns.
I know this sucks. I was supposed to be Australiaing this winter (our winter).
I love that you two each have your own plane! Is that so that you can carry extra gear? Or is it more that you both just want to fly? Awesome video!
Thanks for not abusing upbeat music.
Nice job Jon and Stephanie. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this on a lazy afternoon! Keep up the great videos guys... -Chris Maule 25M
Beautifully done - Alaska is a treasure from nature. Thanks for sharing.
We love it up here!
Awesome buddy... that skwentna weekend was fun... wish I could of camped the first night... great video, IMO, one of your best...

Haha...ya, narrow clearance on that strip
Wonderful video Jon thanks heaps for bringing us this amazing video looking forward to the next one!
Chelatna Lake Lodge is gorgeous. Check out Rainy Pass Lodge sometime too!!!
Wow, such an amazingly beautiful weekend! Thanks for sharing it with us
Your best edit yet, Jon! Very nice!!!
Glad you think so! Thanks!
I'm a professional aviator with over 25,000 accident free hours. As soon as I saw this fellow trying to make a joke out of his unsecured gear jamming up his flight controls, etc., that was it for me.
He was joking
not that serious, danny
Simply awesome 🤩
Very enjoyable. I like the new graphic lettering. Points out stuff my non-piloted eyes would normally not see. Like that itty bitty airport off to the left. yeah the one that looks like a bike trail.
Haha...thanks!
I was once on a flight in a P3 Orion from Japan to Whidbey island WA and had to make an emergency landing in Alaska where we were broke down and stranded for 5 days . I remember when we were on final we had to go around because a moose was standing right on the center line....Would love to go back and visit (on my terms) hahaha
Come see us!
Great shots and excellent audiowork!
Thanks Rick!
A dreaming weekend indeed !
Thank you Really Enjoy your videos and the Alaska Adventure.
Thanks for watching!
On a scale of 1 to 10, your weekend is about a 50. Meanwhile, my weekend is about a 6. I need to get back to AK!! That place is magical!
It's breathtaking every time
Incredible place, thanks for the video.
You really dialed in the aerial shots of takeoff beautiful footage throughout
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to film!
I am Jeannette Bardi from Anchorage now residing in Hillsboro Oregon since 1969.
Your drone video is amazing! Would love to see you make a video about basic drone photography skills when you have the time..
We'll add it to the list
BEST Production in AVIATION ... absolutely like watching NETFLIX for me ... thanks and keep rolling OK
Glad you enjoy it! Share it around with your friends!
FLY8MA.com Flight Training , you all back in Alaska this summer? I followed your flying around Alaska last summer! I live up here, been lucky to fly with some of Alaska’s great bush pilots over the years, you can relate to my favorite Alaskan saying, “ you can see more in one day flying in Alaska, then most people see in a lifetime”!!! So true.
great video. cant wait to get my PPL
Feel free to reach out if there is anything we can do to help further your flight training!!
www.fly8ma.com
wow - I want to do that! COVID-19 still has things upside down, but this is going on my bucket list! The C-172 and Cherokee are both fun, but I'd love to learn some tail-dragger skills. Love your vids, cheers from Vancouver BC!
Alaska is currently open with no restrictions. I'm going next month.
Just wondering what kind of drone you use? Great Video!
Wow what a life .
Awesome! Come out to King Salmon again, I’ll show you some cool spots!
Awesome video. It really makes me want to get into the air. It sucks Valdez has been canceled.
Hope you get flying soon!
How close were you to the trees on final at Talkeetna? From the video it looked like about 3 inches, but I'm sure it was much more than that. Maybe as much at 15 inches? ;-)
U R killing me man.
Esse é o meu sonho!!!
Morar num lugar assim.
Quem sabe um dia!!!
Very nice overview.
All I can say Jon is Wow :)
It's a special place up here!
the new flight simulator looks so realistic! ;)
Haha....you won't find those views in msfs!
I really love your this kind of videos. Learn with joy

Makes studying the FARs worth it.
Absolutely 👍
EPIC!
Glad you liked it!
US # 1 !!!
You got another woof-woof!
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent video!
Great! I love your country! It would be fine, to visit it. But, i live in Austria (not Australia) :-)
Gott sei Dank.
How and where do you secure the dogs? What special considerations do they need? Mutt muffs, pressure changes, harness/seatbelts, cage?! Thanks
They both go in a carrier or we let them sit on the seat on longer flights and put them away for landing. Both refuse to wear the mutt muffs and they don't seem to work at all anyways.
..Freakin awesome !!
"Almost killed by a pizza" hahahah
Great video 🤙
I enjoy your vid's jon take care
Thanks! Share them around 👍
I live in Anchorage Alaska!!!!
Very nice entertaining video! Thanks for sharing. Quite similar to our backcountry video (also with a Patrol) inflight camera angles, etc, but you've added the drone footage and narrative, which adds a lot. Question: What is that hanging just in front of your tail wheel? Looks like a camera but don't see any footage from that viewpoint.
You should do a meet and greet in Fairbanks
We'll have to make a trip up there this summer!
FLY8MA.com Flight Training that would be awesome!
Nice!
Lindo aviões 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
beautiful video nice nice
Moose’s Tooth Pizza. Best pizza in Alaska.
Almost lost it! So good though once we got there!
You ever find fat tires for the BearHawk?
Still looking... thinking 31s would be fun and makes things easier in some spots
Do you guys ever see any Sasquatch since you’re so remote...
haha...I thought I was the only one wondering the same thing. I mean seriously...ANY sightings of BIGFOOT or SASQUATCH?
